There isn't any indoor seating, so this is more of a grab-your-ice-cream-and-go kind of place. After being out in the Arizona heat all day, we didn't mind one bit! My friend got a scoop of peanut butter pecan in a pretzel cone, which I thought was such a unique combination. She said it was really tasty, and I have to admit the pretzel cone definitely caught my attention. My daughter went with peanut butter ice cream in a waffle cone. The waffle cones are made homemade right there, and they also make their cookies in-house, which made everything feel extra special. I ordered a salted caramel sundae with butter pecan ice cream, and let me tell you--it was amazing! It was the perfect combination of sweet, salty, and creamy. My sundae also came with a cookie, so of course I had to try it, and it was so good. You could definitely tell it was freshly made. What a great custom menu with lots of creative choices for ice-cream, ice-cream sandwiches, shake and floats, coffee and coffee desserts. Custom rotating flavors that we tried and sampled as we decided. Love how there's a secret back entrance to the ice cream parlor from Windsor Cocktail Bar next door. This is part of a cluster of good restaurants of different types along Central Avenue in Uptown. Parking available right in front of the entrance as well as around back in a private parking lot. I was so tempted by several items on the menu, but since I had just had a large lunch, I chose to try a single scoop of the Vietnamese coffee ice cream. So delicious and I loved the tiny specks of coffee. Hubs got a double scoop of strawberry ice cream, and my son got a strawberry shake. We all really enjoyed the interior and decor of the ice cream shop and the high-quality and good flavors of the ice cream. Service is really great here. The ladies were really working hard and going as fast as they could, and it didn't look easy scooping the large scoops of frozen hard ice cream. Overall, Churn is a top notch ice cream parlour and a place I would probably frequent if I lived in Phoenix. I first found out about Churn when I visited Windsor for happy hour. They are conjoined and share the same front/back parking lots and patio. Like literally you can walk between the businesses in the same building. I tried them for the first time during a Windsor/Churn Yelp Elite Event but have since visited Churn alone on my own afterward! I really liked the seasonal flavor milk and cookies because the chocolate chip cookie included in the ice cream is one of their cookies they serve separately anyway, so you know it's good. It had a sweet cream base. My sister and I shared a triple scoop for only $7 and satisfied the both of us. The interior is pretty small, but there's at least patio seating in the back and a bench out front. I'm excited to try other seasonal and permanent flavors in subsequent visits, but for now I love the milk and cookies too much to try anything else and would definitely return for just that! read more

After having a weird experience at Windsor, the vibes were 10/10 at this place next door. I had a coupon for buy one, get one ice cream scoop, and this place definitely had some awesome flavors to choose from! Cookies, macaroons and lots of toppings are available to add onto your purchase. Churn also offers a selection of gifts for purchase and ice cream pints to go. I ended up purchasing a grow your own crystal maple tree and am looking forward to setting that up. Jeff helped me with my order and was a breath of fresh air! This was a fun find on a day trip to Phoenix! The service was wonderful, we felt welcomed and like we were encouraged to try various flavors with great context on the shop and ice cream shared. It had been a minute since I have been to Churn and I definitely forgot how good they were! From the moment we walked in the service was topnotch. The gentlemen behind the counter was telling us all about the fan favorite flavors, his favorite and encouraged us to sample their many offerings. I tried the chai and the vietnamese coffee. They were both delicious and perfect for the fall. I opted for the espresso affogato with madagascar vanilla, because you just cannot go wrong with the classics. It hit the mark and even though it's just vanilla bean, it was so rich and creamy. They have a great line up of offerings, from sundaes, floats, shakes ice cream sandwiches, as well as baked goods and a whole selection of candy. It's really a cute shop. They share a space with Windsor, so the ice cream shop itself is not big, but does boast a large outdoor patio to enjoy your sweet treat.
