    Tin Roof Sundae
    Bridget K.

Such a cute old-school style soda fountain meets ice cream counter meets diner establishment! Our server was so sweet and even put a birthday candle in my dad's sundae. She made sure we were taken care of the entire time with water and coffee top offs. We had the grilled American cheese sandwich (a classic and yummy option), the vegetarian sandwich, and Reuben. All the sandwiches came out quickly and were delicious! They're served with crunchy kettle chips and pickle. We got the Baller parfait (strawberry, mint chocolate chip, fudge), the Tin Roof Sundae, and the Gosh-Awful-Banana-Split Sundae. The Tin Roof was a great classic, the Baller was flavorful and beautiful, and the Gosh-Awful was awful good! It gave us a chance to try their sorbet. Their coffee was hot and tasty with a splash of cream. Great place to come for lunch or a sweet treat!

Such a cute little old-style ice cream parlor with lunch options and sundaes of your dreams! The milkshakes and ice cream were so good and refreshing after walking in the hot Arizona heat.

A cute spot that takes you back in time. Plenty of desserts to choose from at a good Price point. Servers were kind and attentive! I loved my Sundae.

Sugar bowl is a throwback ice cream shop that also serves food and is still run by the same family since 1958. We stopped in after playing a competitive game of Curling and walking to the Mission in Old Town. It was an action back day after traveling from CLT, NC and stilling on EST. Julian, who is one Brody's teammates, got the Buster Brownie sundae Brody got the root beer float Andreas ordered the coffee cafe, Sima got a bowl of colorful ice cream and I ordered a coffee milkshake. We all enjoyed our treat after a long day of fun and travel. Definitely recommend Sugar Bowl over the over priced, over hyped corporation this caddy corner. Much more character and charm in this oldie but goodie!

The food was good, service wasn't the best he had way to many tables and was doing it by himself while 3 others standing behind the bar. Ambiance was cute, lots of pink. Overall I thought it was nice. Glad I stopped by while walking.

One of the best chocolate malts I have ever had. If you want a traditional ice cream shop with a ton of options this is THE spot. Plus they have diner food as well. Super pretty inside. Very pink. Games in another room so bring the kids. Staffed checked on me multiple times without asking. Love this place.

This place really gives old school vibes! Tucked in old town Scottsdale, Sugar Bowl is so unique with the pink decor and girly pop vibes of the place. We ordered milkshakes and they were incredible - they provide milkshakes, sundaes, and other dishes outside of icecream for lunch (like sandwiches etc) so there's good variety. The place had a steady flow of people coming in and out and we had come towards the late afternoon, so I can only imagine how busy it can get earlier in the day. Definitely check it out!

Stepped into a little slice of nostalgia at the Sugar Bowl in Old Town Scottsdale, open since 1958, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I came with my mom, my sister, and my aunt, and it was such a sweet experience from start to finish. They ordered milkshakes, and we shared a banana split everything was delicious and perfectly classic. Our server was great. The place itself is super cute, full of old-school charm that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. It's the kind of spot that's perfect for family. Definitely a must-visit if you're in Old Town.

This is an old-fashioned diner/ice cream parlor! The ice cream was very good! The service was ok as well. The restaurant had a steady flow of customers eating at the counter and throughout the diner!

The sugar bowl is a super cool, old timey diner style place that serves so many delicious sweet treats. We had the DESIREME Banana Split... DELISH. Great desert after a nice dinner.

Promptly greeted and seated. We've visited this location over the last ten years. We can always count on the consistent quality and service.

Loved the retro ice cream parlor look and decor and the establishment is over 60 years old making for a unique experience! We were seated promptly at the back when some of the arcade style games are. The menu is extensive, we ordered a single scoop of chocolate chip cream , sundae ( single scoop) and an iced tea. Everything was as expected, I could not finish my sundae, it was ginormous but loved the hot fudge, vanilla combination. Ice cream was great and iced tea was an iced tea . It could be the establishment is short staffed but the table next to ours had half eaten ice cream and drinks for over 20 minutes until someone came to clear up. My son found the core of a cherry at our seat which was a bit yuck. The place was packed ! And I can see why , great ice creams and sundaes and drinks at reasonable prices. Lots of kids , senior citizens and every one in between made the place hustling and bustling!

Ask the Community - Sugar Bowl

Are there any dairy free options for ice cream?

    Not that I remember.

Do they have gluten free options?

The chili soup is and they said they can do a salad without croutons and with oil/vinegar as the dressing.

The two shops are joint and definitely scream luxe in every way. A super modern and beautiful space with all the designer puns and cute offerings from trinkets, to clothes, house goods and of course ice cream bars. They offer chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream, cheesecake or a banana for dipping. You can build your own or select one of their speciality bars - both coming in around $9. I opted for the Neverfull of nuts. A vanilla ice cream base, dipped in chocolate, rolled with peanuts, a Reese's and Nutella drizzle. It was very good and definitely enjoyed during the beautiful sunny day in Old Town. The service was great, friendly, quick and helpful with suggestions. My grandparents who were visiting from out of town, loved it. Overall, it was a delicious treat, beautiful store and hit the spot. I do feel the price point is a tad steep and they didn't have any children of small offerings, but I suppose that goes hand in hand with the luxe vibe. I would definitely return, but also a few other local spots that equally hit the mark.

They really did nice renovations! You can either build your own bar or get one of their recommended combos. My husband and I each got our own. We definitely could've shared, but we wanted to try different things! I did a custom bar with chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, and peanut butter drizzle. You can get two toppings and a drizzle, but I'm glad I just got the chocolate cake. It was AMAZING. I loved everything about it. My husband got the March Madness feature, which was a combo of Oreos and Andes mints with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. You can choose chocolate or vanilla ice cream - he chose chocolate. It was exactly what he wanted. The staff were so friendly and patient with everyone in front of us who took awhile to decide. The shop is pristinely clean as well! The bars are a little pricey, but the quality is there and fairly justifies the hefty price tag.
