I don't normally leave reviews, but I am so disgusted by what I witnessed today that I couldn't stay silent. I went in the morning on Mother's Day, only to find one girl working!! She apologized repeatedly that she was still in training and working by herself?! I've been coming here for a while and I'm constantly seeing new employees. She was working cash register, food, and drinks. ALL by herself. My heart goes out to her seeing her by herself. When she could have spent it with her family. As a Mother, I hope the best for her. I will not be coming back to this establishment if this is how they treat their employees. read more

This review is long overdue since I'd been here over a dozen times. Tiana and Amy are the warmest most helpful staff. It is a creative place with lots of local art on the walls. The new couches are soft & comfy to sip & chat. I've tried everything on the menu. My favs are kombucha, iced matcha latte for drinks. My husband and I got the croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage. The croissant was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, the only way to them. We also got the mini puff pies and three different fillings: chorizo & egg, chicken pot pie, and shepherds pie. They maybe small but their flavor is still mighty! For dessert I got the vegan raspberry croissant and boy it was one of the best I've ever had! The raspberry jam in the middle with tart and sweet. Came here while in the area (I work up the street) and I feel oddly nostalgic here. Music is calm and ambient, workers are friendly and honest and as for the drink: mocha frappe! Rate 7/10! Not too sweet like other places and I have a preference for sweetness I guess, but it's good. Amey helped me decide between that and a latte, next time will try a latte. Seriously a huge flop for something with 'bakery' in it's name. The cookies are dry and unedable. Tried a few other baked goods, and the french toast / croissant thing was literally microwaved and was more 'bread pudding' then anything else. If you are looking for a treat, this place is NOT IT. Starbucks has better sweets, and that says something. I think there needs to be a wake up call to step up their game and provide something worth eating in here. read more

Something about the stove needing to warm up. If this is the case, I would recommend maybe having it ready 15 before 7. We were serviced right away once we went in. The food was horrible. The croissant was chewy! I have never had a chewy croissant. The eggs don't taste like cracked eggs. The coffee wasn't really good either. I got the cinnamon roll chai latte. Arrived around 8:15 am and they were so behind. I'm not sure at what time they had found my order. Anyway, there was only one person working and someone left to do a delivery. Clearly overwhelmed. I did not leave with our food until close to 8:45 am. So disappointed to be arriving so late at my event. The pastries, overall, were very good and everyone liked them - so I would go again but not when I'm in any sort of a hurry. Follow up edit: I am bumping up to a 4-star review after I received a phone call regarding my delayed order from the owner. I appreciated his apology and desire to make things right. I want to say how CUTE this spot is, super chill and good vibes. It's very clean as well. We ordered croissants and iced lattes along with Serrano Chili Vinegar that's made in house! Both of our croissants were beyond dry and hard. It was like eating day old bread that had been reheated. There was very little flavor in anything. The coffee was meh. Today I found Squarz Bakery and Cafe. Mmmm. I've had their small hand pastry pies before at local farmer's markets, but now I can have them anytime?! Ok! There were so many delicious sounding choices between sandwiches on the croissant puff or small hand pies or even pizzas. They do also have salads. I had a nice iced coffee with a savory caramelized onion and brie sandwich on a croissant bun. Warm creamy deliciousness! The cafe itself has plenty of seating to have your own privacy and space. I chose one of the comfy chairs in the lounge area and it made it feel like a cozy cafe. It was a nice little spot with a shelf of games and books to keep little ones entertained as well. Our favorite bakery in a Scottsdale! The place is clean and pretty, with local art for sale on the walls. They have a great selection of breakfast and lunch items, and the service is great! Super friendly and nice staff! We have made multiple trips, and tried the pumpkin scone and cinnamon roll the first time, both of which were wonderful! I drink a lot of coffee, and this was possibly the worst coffee I have ever had. Super sweet, and no hint of coffee in either of the drinks we ordered. They remade one of the drinks when they could tell we didn't like it. The remake was half sweet, and it was still too sweet compared to other coffee shops. Both drinks went in the trash 3/4 full when we left the shop. We also ordered a lemon bar, which only had a slight hint of lemon, and the crust was not mixed thoroughly so you would get bites that were super salty throughout. read more
