This review is long overdue since I'd been here over a dozen times. Tiana and Amy are the warmest most helpful staff. It is a creative place with lots of local art on the walls. The new couches are soft & comfy to sip & chat. I've tried everything on the menu. My favs are kombucha, iced matcha latte for drinks. I like the sourdough bread, strawberry candied pecan salad as well as the small churro cookies, filled croissants and small pies.

Need a quiet thoughtful place to relax in the morning? Want a delicious puff pastry or croissant for lunch? Then Squarz is the place for you! Their calming atmosphere on Sunday morning was just what we needed after a very busy week. We each got an iced coffee and some goodies. My husband and I got the croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage. The croissant was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, the only way to them. We also got the mini puff pies and three different fillings: chorizo & egg, chicken pot pie, and shepherds pie. They maybe small but their flavor is still mighty! For dessert I got the vegan raspberry croissant and boy it was one of the best I've ever had! The raspberry jam in the middle with tart and sweet. Another cool feature that I saw and wished I did was the on tap kombucha bar. Guests can pour their own kombucha. I can't wait to go back and try more!

Came here while in the area (I work up the street) and I feel oddly nostalgic here. Music is calm and ambient, workers are friendly and honest and as for the drink: mocha frappe! Rate 7/10! Not too sweet like other places and I have a preference for sweetness I guess, but it's good. Amey helped me decide between that and a latte, next time will try a latte. Haven't tried any pastries but they looked good in the display box.

Love the atmosphere! It feels so cozy and seems perfect if you brought some work to do for classes or work in general. Menu is clear and different food options as well. I got the Mac and Cheese and it had a little more pepper than I would've liked.

I came here with the Phoenix Girls Club for a little get-together. I ordered the honey lavender latte and the avocado egg sandwich. The sandwich was good! I loved the generous amount of avocado. The lavender flavor in the latte was a bit too strong for my liking. Overall, the quality of the food and drink was very good, and I am looking forward to trying different menu items. The atmosphere felt cozy yet spacious. It's a perfect blend of comfort and convenience, with plenty of seating. The cafe's ambiance is inviting and conducive to a good time. The service was excellent as well!

Food looks amazing! The cashier was very nice and knowledgeable with the menu and accommodating with my order which was awesome! The atmosphere was very cool and different than most breakfast/sit down joints. Squarz bakery and cafe is definitely worth a try!

I would give a three because of the inside. The I side is so nice. Very cute. It was couches inside, plants, and plenty of seating. I am from Vegas so I don't know if the area surrounding is highly populated, but if it is. There is plenty of seating. The service was okay. When we got there at 7 am, they weren't ready. Something about the stove needing to warm up. If this is the case, I would recommend maybe having it ready 15 before 7. We were serviced right away once we went in. The food was horrible. The croissant was chewy! I have never had a chewy croissant. The eggs don't taste like cracked eggs. The coffee wasn't really good either. I got the cinnamon roll chai latte. My husband and I get coffee every weekend (Saturday dates). No matter where. Most of the time my itch is scratched. We will most likely have to get coffee and breakfast somewhere else.

I want to say how CUTE this spot is, super chill and good vibes. It's very clean as well. We ordered croissants and iced lattes along with Serrano Chili Vinegar that's made in house! They have a handful of olive oils as well. The ladies were all so friendly, which was a plus! Kaitlyn , Amey, and Heather were answering tons of my questions and super informative on the history of the cafe. We enjoyed the experience and the food! We will for sure be back.

We stood around and witnessed all the beautiful people roll in from all walks of life. Food is really that thing that will pull it all together. Pair that with some good tunes and a friendly staff, you're bound to spend the entire day there lol. Let's get to the food- Wings for the table- OK! Crispy, not saucy, just light and airy. It tasted slightly sweet with something else I can't place my finger on. French Toast with the grand mariner sauce- yes please and thank you! I did not taste the sauce, but the French toast tasted good. I had some egg whites and the chicken tenders with it. Not a fan of chicken tenders, but there's no substituting, so tenders it is. Mocktail with lemonade and ginger- I don't remember the name but that was quite refreshing. I would've opted for more ginger b/c I like it spicy , and it got the job done. My other homies had shrimp and grits, salmon croquettes. They enjoyed it. Shout out to our waiter Chance . Quite pleasant and had a great aura. He recommended some spots for us to see/explore and didn't rush us. I'd definitely return should I visit AZ again!

I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. I have literally been thinking about that gelato since I left Phoenix. Luckily this company has locations in Texas so I will definitely be seeking out this gelato soon.

As a born and raised New Yorker, I take food very seriously... and Italian pastries even more so…read more Just before Christmas, I was traveling from New Yawk (visiting my parents) back to Phoenix to attend a family dinner at my partner's parent's home in Scottsdale. While I was still in NYC with my family on XMas eve eve, it hit me... I need to bring something besides wine everytime I go to their home. Nor a Southern dish. I wanted something unapologetically New Yaek. And what's more New Yawk than a box of classic Italian cookies? After asking a few Yelp friends where to find the best Italian cookies in Phoenix, The Sicilian Baker kept coming up. I called them last minute on Christmas Eve eve, having never been there before, totally sight unseen. First of all, their voicemail is hilarious. Truly. If you do nothing else, call just to hear it. It will instantly make you want to order something. Once I reached a real person, I explained my situation, that I wouldn't be able to come in beforehand, I needed a beautiful cookie tray for about 14-16 people, and I had a few must have preferences. Without hesitation, they said, "We got you." I was assured it would be ready when I landed on Xmas eve. Sure enough, after my partner picked me up from the airport, we headed straight to The Sicilian Baker. Parking right out front, a huge plus. As soon as you pull in, you're greeted with Frank Sinatra playing, not just inside, but even in the parking lot. It sets the tone immediately. We walked in, gave my name, and within minutes a lovely young person brought out my tray. Ten minutes later, we were on our way. Easy. Efficient. Warm service that made me actually grab a small box of cookies to drop my besties home on the way outta there. I didn't even realize at first that there's a sit down restaurant next door where you can relax and enjoy something. Great to know for next time ;) . Now, let's talk about the cookies. Yes, they are on the pricier side, but every single dollar was worth it. The tray was robust. Classic Italian pastries across the board like lobster tails, tri-colored almond cakes, cannolis, and all the favorites you hope for when you're trying to impress a room full of potential inlaws. And impress it did. The moment I walked in with that tray, it was a hit. People were already claiming which pastries they wanted, plotting what they'd take home, and hovering before dinner was even finished. There was more than enough for 16 people, grand is the only word for it, which is my style 1,000%. To this day, they're still talking about those cookies which makes me phenomenally proud (and humbled). I say this in all my reviews, "I hate almost everything. I'm discerning. I'm critical. And when something truly represents what I stand for - quality, authenticity, and heart, I will shout it from the rooftops". The Sicilian Baker delivered New York level excellence in Phoenix! Do not walk, runswiftly to this place if you need a gift, a show stopping dessert, or simply want to treat yourself. I cannot wait to go back. Highly, highly recommended.
