My favorite thing here is the sea salt chocolate chip cookie! It's just the right amount of chocolate paired with a little bit of savory salt so delicious!! I also think the price isn't all that crazy given it's a pretty large cookie. ($4 or so) I'm only giving four stars only because when I was there they closed about 10 minutes early and I was looking for direction when it came to the bathroom. I'm not sure if they offer public restrooms but this was the only thing opened at the time and closing 10 mins prior to the closing time posted was a little disappointing.

Salted Caramel Single Scoop

It's always a good time when sweet treats are involved and this place hits the spot. With all varieties of treats like scratch cookies, pastries, and even ice cream one can't go wrong with satisfying that sweet tooth crave. There are the traditional candies like gummie bears, junior mints (my fave), milk duds and more. Inside is fun and playful with lots of colorful decor. I sampled the salted Carmel ice cream and loved it. A single scoop was more than enough and was very satisfying.

Swung in after dinner for a sweet treat and was pleasantly surprised! I've walked and driven past this place so many times but glad I decided to finally stop in. I got the Oreo flavor which was gluten free and it was delicious. I'd come back just for that flavor!

BEST Oreo ice cream in the valley! No lie it is so good! Some of my family members are big Oreo people, and I took them when they were in town. And they also agreed that it was the best. The people that work there are always so sweet and will literally let you sample anything! And it's just cute and fun to look at all the candy while you wait. And I'm pretty sure the Oreo ice cream is even gluten-free, don't quote me on that. But it's just so creamy and everything you want out of a good ice cream

If happiness came in a waffle cone, it would absolutely be handed to you at Sweet Provisions. Tucked away like a hidden gem, this place is the cutest little ice cream haven we've ever stumbled upon--and it's now a mandatory stop every time we're in the area. Let's talk about the flavors. Oh. My. Scoop. The fresh mint chip is what dreams are made of--none of that artificial green stuff here. It tastes like someone plucked mint leaves straight from a garden and gently folded them into the creamiest, smoothest base, then added the perfect amount of rich chocolate chips for crunch. Every lick was magical. But the magic doesn't stop at the ice cream. The service is just as sweet. Every single time we visit, we're greeted with genuine smiles, patience, and good vibes. Whether it's your first visit or your fifteenth, the staff treats you like a regular and makes the whole experience feel like coming home (but with way better desserts). Sweet Provisions doesn't just serve amazing treats--it serves up joy, kindness, and the kind of charm that's getting rarer to find these days. From the adorable decor to the always-welcoming energy, it's the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer, and maybe come back tomorrow... and the next day. A true Arizona treasure. 11/10. Highly recommend, every single time.

Old School Cookies

The best ice cream in Scottsdale and THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!! I am obsessed with these cookies. I had it at St. Urban last month and then have had 3 more since. I'm obsessed. For the ice cream, it's really good, so creamy, the best flavors, and I love a fresh waffle cone. This place is a staple for my sweet treat.

Vintage candy shop with a small selection of average ice cream. Don't get me wrong, average ice cream is still delicious, but if you're going simply for the scoops, I'd consider elsewhere. The worker was very friendly and let us taste all the flavors we wanted but none stood out. I ended up with a combination of salted caramel and coconut cream pie and it was pretty good. It's a small space with some outdoor seating, but the ambiance is bright and engaging.

Great place for dessert lovers. The ice cream was smooth and rich, and the pastries paired perfectly with it.

Their candy selection takes me back, and their salted caramel ice cream is wonderful. Don't taste like the stuff you buy at the market.

A Nostalgic, Must-Visit Dessert Destination in Old Town Scottsdale…read more Our party of six visited the Sugar Bowl for dessert following a friend's birthday dinner. Upon our arrival, we were accommodated immediately and seated without any delay. The parlor features a wonderful, nostalgic aesthetic reminiscent of the late 1900s. Its menu is remarkably expansive, offering an impressive variety of options that goes well beyond what one might typically expect from a traditional dessert establishment. The service we received was patient and polite. While one of our table's orders was initially overlooked, the staff corrected the mistake instantly as soon as we brought it to our server's attention. As the name implies, the menu leans heavily into decadent, sweet treats; those looking for lighter or tart options like yogurt variations will find limited choices, but the indulgent selections are perfect for traditional dessert lovers. The surrounding neighborhood adds significantly to the appeal, offering an excellent Old Town atmosphere filled with art galleries, historic shops, and artifacts. If you are visiting the nearby Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA), enjoying dinner in the area, or simply taking an evening walk, I highly recommend stopping by the Sugar Bowl for its unique historical charm and experience.

I considered several options in Phoenix area to review, but I decided to go with the iconic Sugar Bowl in Old Town Scottsdale. It's been in business since the 1950's and has been a staple for 7 decades in Old Town. The inside is 1890's decor of pink & white wallpaper/decor like an old fashioned ice cream parlor. They have a bar area and standard seating. I remember I first went here when I was in high school in late 90's/early 2000's. Ice cream was always top notch. I used to get the Buster Brownie, which was this big brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream, goeey marshmallow topping, whipped cream, & cherry on top. It was awesome! I loved that way back then. I got lunch there once or twice; pretty good sandwiches, but the real highlight is the ice cream. My most recent visit was in Jan. 2022 with my dad. We decided to pop in for ice cream. It was as delicious as I remembered.

I love that they let you sample as many as you'd like before deciding! Service was quick, but we never felt rushed while trying flavors and figuring out what we wanted. The waffle cones taste SO fresh because they literally are!! Someone was making them right there while we picked our ice cream. Such a nice touch! We shared a Double Dough and Darkest Chocolate together in a fresh waffle cone and it was so, so good. Did not get a picture because we ate it so fast! Easy parking, great service, delicious ice cream, and fresh waffle cones. Definitely 5 stars!

I sampled at least 4 flavors and they didn't seem too annoyed with me. My issue with Jeni's is primarily I think all of their ice cream across the board is too sweet (I know, it's dessert... I just really feel that dialing the sugar to 2/3 the amount would be perfect). All of the flavors I sampled would have been great. I ultimately ordered Buttercream Birthday Cake and Milkiest Chocolate, with the Buttercream Birthday Cake really pushing my boundary. Nonetheless enjoyable outing on a really hot July day. I'd go back to this location, bearing in mind it's not my favorite ice cream in the world. Also I must add, it's quite expensive. Buying for me individually, doesn't do too much damage, but for say a family of 4, this would be a pricey outing.

They offer chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream, cheesecake or a banana for dipping. You can build your own or select one of their speciality bars - both coming in around $9. I opted for the Neverfull of nuts. A vanilla ice cream base, dipped in chocolate, rolled with peanuts, a Reese's and Nutella drizzle. It was very good and definitely enjoyed during the beautiful sunny day in Old Town. The service was great, friendly, quick and helpful with suggestions. My grandparents who were visiting from out of town, loved it. Overall, it was a delicious treat, beautiful store and hit the spot. I do feel the price point is a tad steep and they didn't have any children of small offerings, but I suppose that goes hand in hand with the luxe vibe. I would definitely return, but also a few other local spots that equally hit the mark.
