I am going to do everything I can to come back during happy hour with just my wife and give it one last try but the service team here is so unorganized and the food was definitely sub par this time(except the hummus) Full picture i made a reservation for 6:30 even though fully expecting it to be pretty slow but didn't want to risk it. I arrived early and was seated at our table for 6 that they quickly transformed to 7 since we had another joining us. Our waitress Katie(same as first time)quickly got me a drink and I waited for my family to arrive. Once they arrived we ordered drinks and a Hummus to split into two plates with veggies so all could enjoy. Took a bit but the hummus arrived but no veggies(it took so long we were joking on how this freshly made hummus I raved about was freshly coming from the eastern hemisphere). Once it landed they did kindly split the bread as well and as we waited for the veggies or someone to come back and check up on us i started to pay attention to the staff. It seemed that our waitress was working the entire north end of the restaurant and some others too in an effort to help her teammates. As I watched everyone else from my vantage(not gospel but what I saw) was this did not seem to be what everyone else was doing. A lot of standing around or huddling together at the kiosk from what appeared to be 5 staff members plus a manager and a bartender. Finally we were able to get some help and they decided to bring us another humus with veggies which somehow once again the humus arrived and they had to go back for the veggies. We all ordered, (gotta assume it takes longer when fresh) and eventually food started coming out except a burger and fries, Katie came buy and asked how everything was and we expressed we didnt know as we were still waiting on a burger, she promptly went and grabbed it and we were able to dig in. My daughters burger as she said was okay and that she wouldn't order it again, wife's sisters salmon salad was good, and my nieces chicken and broccoli was as well but my wife's prime rib was extremely dry. Gotta say I've had a lot of prime rib and of all the bad ones it's usually flavor or over cooked, but dry is pretty hard to do on a medium rare item that's slow roasted. The steak itself was more medium and the flavor I thought was good but dry and tough it was indeed. Didn't ask for it but after we gave an honest answer on how the food was they removed it from the bill. Truly just bummed out, as they really had me hooked with that hummus, but if this is a small plate date spot just for that hummus and a drink I'll be there for happy hour with my beautiful bride often. Really really hoping this was a one off for them with maybe a new staff as they continue to work out the kinks. I will find time to come for happy hour and give it a third try and see if we can swing the vote back into the positive read more

Love this spot! Doughbird is perfect for a weeknight dinner out and is a crowd pleaser with a variety of solid menu items. Ambiance is both trendy and lowkey, good for family or casual date night. They have some fun quirky details, such as using a massive can of tomatoes for the pizza stand. Service was solid, waitress was sweet, attentive, and enthusiastic. Between three people we split 1) Simple caesar: as it states, it was your standard caesar. good portion size enough to feed 3 for a small appetizer salad 2) Sweet potato and brussel sprout pizza: LOVED this pizza. I appreciate how doughbird has such unique pies that you don't see elsewhere and they do them well. The roasted hearty vegetables paired super well with the herby ricotta, which added some brightness and soft texture. Would get this pizza again 3) Half rotisserie chicken, lemon garlic sauce and crinkle fries: Chicken had great flavor, nice crispy skin-quality rotisserie chicken. Got the lemon garlic dipping sauce which is delicious. It's essentially a lemon garlic butter which is so savory delicious with the chicken. My one complaint is that they would give you more sauce. Initially we went to the Neighborly next door, but there was a wait. Doughbird had a table available. I've been to the location on Indian School where i've enjoyed the pizza and other menu offerings in the past. I was really in the mood for a burger, but the one here only had shitty reviews on Yelp, so I'll leave a positive one! :) It's actually decent and huge. It's a standard pub burger cooked to your preference and comes with a ton of skinny fries. Service was quick and great -- Alex was very attentive. My sister and I had such a good yummy happy hour, which was also probably dinner. The best customer service. They treat you like a family. Alicia, the manager, was the best. She heard me tell my sister that the butter caramel cake looked yummy. So what does she do? She brings us one on the house!! As this establishment only recently opened, I was pleasantly impressed with the organization and smooth service by the staff. Our waiter, Brandon, was very personable, knowledgeable and friendly. It was happy hour (3-6 pm, M-F) and I ordered a Scottsdale blonde lager. Unfortunately it is not on tap, but it still tasted great. I ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza which had great flavor. The crust was just right. I wish the mushrooms had been cut a little larger. Almost all the wait staff were wearing brown shoes, which was a nice touch. We ate inside and we were a little surprised at the level of noise. Obviously a lot of people were enjoying themselves. There are three TV screens so you can probably watch whatever sporting event affects Phoenix. I hear the chicken pot pie here is awesome so I'll try that next time. read more

The first time I tried doughbird was over a year ago and I was drooling just thinking about their sweet potato pizza. Unfortunately I was so disappointed to see that they change the recipe. When I tried it Feb last year it had bacon and pistachios however now it only includes sweet potato and Brussels sprouts. This was a major let down for me. I had been craving this pizza for over a year. The pizza was good but not great. I definitely remembered it way better than what it was. The restaurant was spacious. It was a little too loud for my liking however the Diamond Backs were playing so it might have been that too. Service was okay. Stopped by Doughbirds new location and I was impressed. I expected no less, as I'm a big fan of their other location. I ordered curbside and was able to pull up and get my order really quick. Forgot to take a pic of the rotisserie chicken but it was great! The Mac and cheese was delicious, but it did need to be mixed a little, as all the cheese was on the bottom for some reason. Cleansed of the mid restaurants of Casa Anejo and Bevvy, Doughbird is a welcomed addition to the area. Although this location is smaller than the one on 44th St. and Indian School, it definitely is big on vibes and friendly attitudes. We ordered the Pepperoni Chips, Truffle Cheese Bread, Sausage and Mushroom Pizza (hand stretched), and a dozen Dry Rub Wings w/ Spicy Buffalo sauce on the side. They give the option of Detroit style (similar to their Fly Bye restaurant) or hand stretched pizza, and the latter was absolutely tasty (not too doughy with the right amount of chew) with quality toppings. Everything was absolutely delicious, however it is very apparent that this location does not use the same type of oven that they use at the other location (wood-burning fire based). I want to emphasize that this is not a bad thing, but rather different styles/different tasting pies. Both styles are delicious in their own way! The service was also very attentive and prompt. The waiter Brandon did an excellent job given we were one of the first tables during their "sneak peek weekend." Loved the Friday night energy but didn't love the food. The sweet potato and Brussels pizza was not as tasty as I remember. The black truffle mushroom pizza sounded better on paper. The warm butterscotch cake was the best thing we tried, definitely shareable as it's a little too sweet for 1. Lots of good pizza in the valley. If I'd come back I'd try something else. read more

I stopped in for their Happy Hour (M-F 3-6) at this new location for DB. They remodeled the space according to their brand and it feels nice. There is a strong staff smiling presence as you walk in, which makes you feel welcome. I like to sit at the bar, mostly when watching a FB/BB game. They have a few TV's placed around but not the best for sitting at the bar (not a big deal). I managed to find the seat which allows visibility to a TV. The service at the bar was friendly and attentive. I grabbed a few beers from the HH menu and ordered the 3 pc chicken tenders. I only wanted a small bite w the beers. All in all everything was good. We love Doughbird. This has become our go to for family celebrations. Service is always great and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I absolutely love the chicken pot pie. Very nice looking, comfortable place. We sat at the bar in the cozy swivel chairs and really enjoyed The Local cocktail and an old fashioned. Great HH prices. The chicken pot pie was one of the best I've had, nicely seasoned and chock full of tasty, tender chicken. The crusts was delicious and the serving was big. I took home two thirds of it and you can bet it will be breakfast in the morning! Excellent service from the multiple bartenders. We wanted for nothing.
