Food is amazing. Me and a friend stopped in to catch up and we both enjoy great cuisine. The wait time was pretty quick getting seated was a swift and easy action. Stopped for lunch today at The Henry in Uptown Plaza. Heard some pretty good things about it so it won out over The Chula for our lunch $. Hmmm...the service was pretty good since the restaurant wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. The ambiance was very nice and upscale all clean and shiny! Used to eat at that same corner when it was Lunt Avenue Marble Club many years ago! On to the food. We ordered a roast turkey French dip. Great chewy sourdough bread with melted cheese and what was excellent roasted sliced turkey. Great sandwich with a nice light ai jus for dipping. We had a choice of three side: French fries, slaw or small salad. The salad was a disaster. Nothing more than a handful of spring mix- that's it nothing else! The house dressing was a red wine vinegar which was not tossed on the salad. Just a handful of spring mix with no dressing whatsoever. Okay, the waitress quickly took care of that problem with a small ramekin of the dressing. All in all the turkey French dip for $19 was a good choice other than a cheap salad. (How about a couple of heirloom cherry tomatoes to at least provide some color.) Now on to the big disappointment- the Wagyu hamburger! There was so much stuff (lettuce?or possibly another handful of spring mix, tomato, some kind of sauce) piled on top of a thin little wagyu beef patty, my wife could not taste the beef at all. She shared a piece of the burger with me and I'll have to say- not at all impressed. Her fries were excellent, however, but when one pays $23 for burger, it should be an allstar. For $12, Chilis makes one of the best burgers in town and you can dress it how you want. read more

Might be best to do that next time. The waitress was kind and informed. I believe her name was Nora. She knew the restaurant's history and where other locs were even in other states. I digress. I got the egg white turkey omelette with breakfast potatoes for a protein hit since I just rode 22 miles on my bike earlier. My wife got a quinoa dish of sorts. Each came in a bowl and were delicious. The breakfast potatoes were on point. My omelette was well stuffed with turkey and cheese, so much so the outside the egg was browned although not to distraction. I enjoy The Henry - the food and drinks are consistent and the ambiance is nice. I usually get the Korean skirt steak dish but lately I've been ordering the harvest bowl with steak - the veggies have a nice char and I enjoy the pesto and cashew harissa. My only complaint is that the spicy tuna crispy rice is good but the price is pretty ridiculous for the actual serving size. I've always had good service and have enjoyed my meals here. read more

My two girlfriends and I wanted to try out the new Henry location off Mayo Blvd., and am glad we did. Happy hour prices were much more affordable for us. I got the Paloma cocktail, short rib potstickers, and brussel sprouts. Food was really, really great with the brussel sprouts being some of the best I've had! My friends had the burger and said it was just okay. The place was very crowded, and very loud, so not a place I would go if I wanted to carry on a conversation effectively or not hear the customers next to me. Service could be better, as there were two tables when we walked in that needed to bussed and it took them 15 minutes to clear them off even though hostesses and servers were just standing around. Our waitress was okay, but not super friendly. Overall, the experience was good, food worth it, but if you're looking to not spend a lot of money or quieter ambiance, this is not the place. The Henry has some of my favorite food ever. The salmon is the absolute perfect pairing of flavors, and sauces. The beets paired with the crunchy nuts and pesto make it a 10 out of 10 literally one of my favorite meals and all of Phoenix .Service is always phenomenal. The restaurant is always busy. I've also tried the mac & cheese here and it was delicious. The lemon cake for dessert is moist light and a refreshing way to end a perfect meal. The one downside is that they got rid of the fig mules, and those were my favorite especially on happy hour. Please bring those back. I loved them. read more

They have valet parking for free as well as a pretty big lot, although this place gets really packed! Ambience is everything here and the design inside is very chic and modern and really really cute! They have a big patio for outdoor seating as well as a bar that seats a lot of people, and a pretty brig restaurant with two huge rooms for private event events. When we were there there was a bridal shower that was being held. Every single thing on the menu is so good and I couldn't wait to go back and try something new. I ordered the pomegranate hibiscus spritz, and my boyfriend has a pineapple guava mimosa. Both were really good, but the spritz was better! we ordered the turkey dip which was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. Its served hot with a juice sauce on the side and a mild horseradish it was delicious! We also ordered the Aji tuna chop salad, which had an amazing flavor to it, and it was really really good and fresh. The bathrooms are beautiful and look like a work of art and I'm very very clean. All of the staff is super friendly, helpful and very nice.. We checked out the bakery on the way out and got a couple of danishes and I can't wait to try the fruit one because it looks so good! I've been to both locations of The Henry and I think this one is much better! First, the service was so great. We had an older person in our group who couldn't handle the loud noises of the main restaurant, and our server was great at finding a quieter, accesible table. The food was really great too. I thought the seared tuna salad I had was one of the top 5 best salads I've ever had! The dressing was well coated on every piece of lettuce but not overpowering! And the tuna was perfectly soft! I've always loved The Henry, so I was excited to try the new location. The atmosphere and espresso martini were great, but the rest of the experience was disappointing. The menu felt smaller, service was slow, and our server rarely checked on us even though he knew we had a concert to get to. What should have been a quick dinner took almost three hours, causing us to miss part of the show. The food wasn't much better. The filet was just okay, the food was average, and the sides were below average. My Korean skirt steak was chewy and the rice tasted like microwaveable rice. For a higher end restaurant, I expected and remembered it being better. They have a huge restaurant and it would be good for large groups. I drafted a review back in August that was pretty bad. I basically said that I'd give this review 2 stars if the food and cocktails weren't so amazing. My friends were baffled and kept saying that the extremely slow service (like 45 min to get an appetizer and an hour to get our entree) was an unusual experience and they were also disappointed. I gave it another shot the other night and the service, food, and cocktails weren't phenomenal. Our server was named Chandler and he was awesome. I was indecisive about substituting the mashed potatoes for the spicy fried rice in the short ribs entree - Chandler gave me a resounding 'oh yeah that would be delicious ! Best decision ever. I've been to the original location for dinner several times and always enjoyed it. Really wanted to try the new location so we came for lunch. They've blocked off a large amount of spaces right in front for valet parking, but there are plenty of spaces in the same parking lot that you can park your car. I do have to say that I understand the need for valet parking in some locations; however, I think it's irritating when clearly they have enough spots right in front of the building for them to make it valet. It's not like having to run the car down the street or anything - - it's literally right in front of the door anyway. Couldn't you just park it there? This location has a really nice big patio. The bar service both sides - - one side the patio and the other side the dining room. The dining room was nice enough, with round booths and some tables. There is a room off to the side with more seating. Our server was really great-- friendly and helpful. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros Enchiladas and a Roasted Chicken and Avocado Salad. I was surprised at how small the huevos rancheros was. My son was done with it very quickly. my salad was fine - - not great, but not bad. The bacon was a little too sweet for me and and the lettuce felt heavy. My son ordered a Bloody Mary, which I tasted and did not like at all. In all fairness I'm not a huge fan of bloody marys in the first place. I'm not sure I would come back here at lunchtime. For me, there are better places. read more

Visited "The Henry" on a Friday after a show at the Phoenix Theater Company. We ordered the truffle fries, house salad and fried rice. The truffle fries came out first and they were excellent. The fried rice side was small for $9 and was not that good. The house salad was also above average. We missed out on the short rib app or entree because they were sold out. Came in during lunchtime on a Saturday and was sat right away, which was a pleasant surprise. Our server was in training and was a little awkward - hopefully they'll work out the kinks :) There is a super cute coffee shop attached so I popped over there to see their offerings because they were not fully listed on the restaurant menu. We decided to try their seasonal pumpkin spice latte (half sweet), which was amazing with the chai whipped cream (I didn't inquire about a dairy free option). As other reviewers have stated, the brunch menu is a little limited. We decided to try the burger and subbed out the french fries for the asparagus and snap peas for an additional $3 charge. We also tried the Way of Tea cocktail which was a little on the tart side but still balanced and earthy - I really did enjoy the Matcha and lavender combo. I personally look for healthier options when dining out. For me, gluten-free, dairy free, seed oil free, etc. are important and the Henry definitely doesn't really satisfy these priorities. I think the pricing is a little steep for the quality and portion you receive, though not totally unreasonable, especially for Central Phoenix area. I used to live near the other Henry and it was a favorite for many years. I'm in midtown now and have been anxiously awaiting the opening and trying to figure out where everyone will park. Of course Sam doesn't disappoint and it is as I remember just much closer to the fun part of town ;) The patio looks to be designed perfectly (a flaw with the other location) and as the weather improves I can't wait to sit outside still facing the bar/restaurant area. My lunch and mimosa (always a huge fan of the bubbles selection here) were outstanding. I've enjoyed the Korean skirt steak many times and was reminded why. My lunch date had the bolognese and can't wait to return; since I ate all her leftovers. The hostesses were very friendly and the dirty martini that I had while I waited at the bar was perfectly crafted. The first available table was on the heated patio and it was such a nice vibe.
