Pat Tillman mural inside a side room.
    David M.

Great, classy interior and decor. Great tribute to Pat Tillman in one of the side rooms. Happy to see him respected that way and not forgotten. Service is top notch like any like restaurant. No complaints. Started the meal with a tasty beverage, the black tie margarita. It didn't disappoint and was very tasty. Decided to go with the surf tonight. The scallops/lobster risotto was the choice and it didn't disappoint. Tender scallops, sweet lobster, all in a wonderful sauce over risotto. Get in my belly!! Can't go wrong here.

Really great location in Phoenix. Stopped by for a business dinner with a pretty large group of colleagues. Service was excellent they gave us a private room. The food was prepared well and everything we ordered was amazing. Definitely be back in the future.

    Old Fashioned with clear cube.

My wife and I dropped in to Capital for drinks and apps. I was disappointed to watch the bartenders mix the Old Fashioneds in the serving glass. Proper bartending demands the drink to be mixed and stirred in ice in a mixing vessel. Then and only then, it is poured in the customer's glass over a cube or cubes. I am seeing this shortcut in more and more places but I seem to be the only one who cares. Anyway..... The food was really good. We had the lamb lolipops and the NY Strip apps. Both were very tasty. We finished with a crab and lobster cake and it was tender and flavorful. The service was friendly and the food came out a bit slow but it was hot when it arrived. The bar seating is comfortable and there are a couple TVs to watch the game.

I keep having this weird dream, you know the kind, where you are endlessly tossing and turning a salad. When I wake up the salad is gone! Luckily The Capital Grille has not only the best salads but amazing steaks, soups, sandwiches, and appetizers. With ~74 locations across the US, Mexico, DC., and Costa Rica, chances are there is a Capital Grille near you. Having been to many of them in the US, hands down this is my favorite location! Service is phenomenal and servers are dressed in jackets, old style Hollywood. The decor with dark wood ambiance among booths and tables makes for a terrific setting. Shout out to Brendan and Joseph as their service here is impeccable! An open kitchen allows one to peek and see the tremendous efforts everyone is making to ensure your visit is pleasant and on cue. With daily specials, promotional specialties there is always great tasting food at a reasonable cost. Overall a super deal! Have been visiting this location for a few years and always found it to be nothing short of paramount. *please see photos of the moments here *Amazing bar area! *Valet parking available *self-parking also available *reservations suggested at peak hours As always, thank you for reading!

The walls are rich dark wood. There is no music. The muffled sound of conversation fills the silence. The seats are comfortable, and the lighting is filtered and adequate. There are large pictures of well-known people on the wall. The portraits have no names, but if you are savvy, you will know what they are. The à la carte lunch menu is very traditional. It features meat sandwiches and chicken, and of course, salads. The wait staff handled our large group of about twenty well. There was little wait time serving our party. The lunch Ribeye Sandwich, ordered medium, was barely pink. The roll had a soft crust. The meat had a large piece of fat on it. French Fries with Garlic and Truffles accompanied it--the hell with the steak, which was delicious albeit a little overcooked for medium. The taste and smell of the Truffle French Fries were intoxicating. Soft inside and medium brown on the outside, I'd trade my sandwich for another serving of Truffle Fries that smelled as if they were cooked in garlic butter. Sampling the desserts, this biased reviewer found the chocolate pie to be the best. It was bittersweet and light at the same time; it was rich. The Coconut Cream Pie was light and rich, infused with coconut flavor, but no shreds. If I were to tell you what to do, I'd go with the chocolate. It covered all the dimensions in taste and texture. This is a great, rich place with a great atmosphere. The service deserves its own five stars, as does the kitchen, which prepared it expeditiously. There was no surcharge for a large group. A 20% gratuity was on my tab. If you look at the second paragraph at the bottom, you will see their ideas about that twenty percent. In this case, the staff deserved it. This is a great, rich place with a great atmosphere. The service deserves its own five stars, as does the kitchen, which prepared it expeditiously

Galentines was a success! Immediately greeted with roses at the table. The staff were very friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. The food melted in your mouth; between the mushroom steak, tuna tartare, and the lobster mac n cheese. Can't go wrong! The ambiance was perfectly lit, not too bright but bright enough to see the menu. Great spot for any occasion, would absolutely visit again!

    Sauvignon Blanc! Delightful!

I originally decided to stop by the Capitol Grill because I was craving either their lobster bisque or their French onion soup. To my surprise, I got there during happy hour! And let me tell you they have one of the best happy hours ever! I ordered the New York strip, sliced with a Kona crust and it was wonderful. It was $17! I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and that was eight dollars! Then I ordered the oysters casino and they were pretty good! You get two of them during happy hour. Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed my appetizers and my two glasses of wine. All of that for $45 and then I tipped them $10. Fifty five dollars for excellent food, great ambience, and great service! I'll take that anytime of the day. I'm still craving my lobster bisque and or French onion soup from there so I guess I will have to go back. I left there with a nice little buzz and I was full from my two appetizers and I decided to go to Saks, Fifth Avenue and do a little shopping, since the store is closing, they had some amazing sales going on! All in all it was a very nice outing.

This place has been on my radar for quite some time. My work anniversary lunch was coming up and I knew I wanted to treat myself to a nice steak since I wasn't paying for it (DUH!) My manager booked us a reservation for around 12 PM on a Wednesday and we were seated promptly. I'm not a fine dining frequenter whatsoever, so walking into this place felt kind of surreal to me. Every staff member was at the top of their game and even the air felt fancy. My manager and I were seated at a booth and instantly the bread and butter was set in front of us. The bread rolls were quite good. I do wish the bread was a little warmer, since it was quite cold in the restaurant and I only had a light summery dress on. Our waiter came over to us quickly after that. He asked us if we'd dined there before (my manager has but I hadn't). He then began talking about the quality the restaurant upholds and how they prepare their meat/fish. Everything sounded exquisite to me! Since it was only lunch and a work lunch on top of that, I ordered a Diet Coke and water to start while my manager ordered an iced tea. No cocktails this time. Drinks came out quickly and then it was on to appetizers. I hadn't looked that far at the menu but my manager ordered the lobster bisque. When it came to the table, it was in a teeny tiny bowl and the waiter asked if my manager would like this wine/liquid poured into it. After a couple drops were poured into it and the waiter left, my manager said to me, "I didn't know what he said so I just said 'yes' and I can't even taste what he did pour it in." Now on to the main part of the meal. I knew I wanted to get the 8 oz filet mignon since I'd never had that before and it was the most expensive thing of meat on the lunch menu. I ordered it medium rare (cause go big or go home) with my side being the creamed spinach. My manager ordered the chef's special for that time period which was a surf and turf caesar salad. The food came out in an impressive time and it was kind of comical how massive my plate was for how much space the steak and bowl of creamed spinach took up. However, I quickly stopped laughing once I took my first bite. Can I just say... I didn't know meat could taste that good. I have only had steak maybe a handful of times throughout my life, so anything could impress me, but the way it truly did cut like butter and the flavor of it.... Truly mind-blowing. Medium rare definitely was the way to go with this cut of meat. I almost wish I was alone or with other company while eating it because I was wish my manager and we were still technically at work so I felt I couldn't express my full appreciation over it lol. But I'm still dreaming about it days later. The creamed spinach was also another highlight. It was like a less thick, hot version of spinach artichoke dip (minus the artichoke lol) and that's my favorite dip! Everything was so buttery and delicious! My manager also really liked his salad. He especially liked the style of croutons. Another thing I loved was the abundant Diet Coke refills! I had taken my last sip of the first glass and not even a minute later, I had a fresh glass! This repeated throughout the meal, which was highly appreciated. We didn't get dessert. I was quite full and decided to get my spinach and a couple bites left of my steak bagged for me. They bag it themselves and even had a nice paper bag to carry the take out containers in (which I'll be reusing for my Trader Joe's runs, thank you very much). Overall, this was a great first fine-dining experience and I truly am a changed woman after that filet mignon. I may never be a cheap date ever again.

    - Worth Every Dollar I do all my restaurant reviews through the lens of value -- not just how good the food is, but whether the quality and experience match the cost. More times than not, I walk away from expensive restaurants thinking the price didn't live up to the food or service. The Capital Grille in Phoenix is not one of those places. Yes, it's a higher-end restaurant, but the quality here not only matches the price -- it exceeds it. The food is masterfully crafted, the flavors are elevated, and the overall experience is the kind you actually want to pay for. I started with a dirty martini that was beautifully made and absolutely hit the spot -- simple, clean, and perfectly balanced. Then came the lobster bisque -- rich, velvety, and loaded with large chunks of lobster. It was one of those dishes that stops you mid-conversation -- just incredibly flavorful and indulgent. For my main, I ordered their famous beef tenderloin with lobster: two petite filet mignons (8 oz total) and a 5 oz lobster tail, served with a butter sauce infused with lemon juice and shallots. That sauce brought everything together -- it made the steak and lobster sing. I paired it with a bold Cabernet that complemented both beautifully. Honestly, this was an absolutely fantastic dining experience. From the drinks to the dishes to the service -- it's the kind of place I'll definitely be coming back to.

Met some of my dearest friends for lunch 5/14/2025. Easy to get disoriented in this bohemoth of a mall. Ample free parking. Ambiance/Cleanliness-beautiful rooms, classic steakhouse vibe, very clean..4 stars Service-spotty, not entirely acceptable...server handled an ice cream dessert rejection due to texture deficiencies rather clumsily...2 stars Food...burger with fries was...underwhelming. 3 stars.

AMAZING!!! We were celebrating a colleague and had a team lunch at Capital Grille. I hadn't been here in years and it was just as great as I remember. From the moment our group walked in to when we finished up we received stellar service from the e tore staff. The space itself it gorgeous. They went above and beyond to have some celebration confetti on the table and a card to make it special for our colleague. Our server was the best and went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of. That burger was DELISH....

Although it was Easter Sunday, the evening was not very crowded, and we were all able to find parking with no problem. The price and quantity were all very lovely. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted great! The crab cakes were delicious and tasted of fresh crab, the ahi tuna was perfectly cooked, and the fillets were seasoned and cooked to our liking. The dessert was the perfect size and a guilt-free option after a lovely meal. They even gave my mother a birthday dessert with a candle. I love this place and will definitely be back to try their happy hour.

They have a very nice menu for happy hour, including several choices $7 glass of wine- everyone at the table was able to find something that they liked. We also ordered an assortment of items, the flatbreads, Ahi tuna, crabcakes, goat, cheese dip. There was plenty for the five of us for a lite dinner. Dee was our server and she was delightful! I really like the ambience of this restaurant, especially when you're in a back corner. We had plenty of time to reconnect and catch up with each other. Definitely one of the better happy hour spots in town. I also appreciate that you do not have to sit at the bar in order to participate in happy hour, that has become custom in some places and that's a real pain when you're trying to visit with people. We spent about $40 per person before tip.
