I really loved the space when it was the MercBar, and I'm so happy that it still has the same personality. The dark wood and stained glass bricks really give this place personality. It's dimy lit, which I think always makes a better dinner atmosphere. Our server was a dream. She was so nice and so knowledgeable about the menu, and very attentive as well. We started with a couple of drinks - I got the Summer breeze, and have you just got a beer. The Summer breeze was so yummy and refreshing. We ordered the calamari which came with a garlic aioli and marinara sauce. I can't decide which is better - - the aioli or the zesty marinara sauce (which makes me want to try the pasta). Hubby ordered the Greek salad with a side of grilled salmon. This is only the second place I have seen in the valley that serves authentic Greek salad - that means no lettuce, just tomato, cucumber, olives, green peppers, and red onion topped with of hunk of feta. It was delicious! Also delicious was my crispy skin grilled salmon with forbidden (black) rice and a citrus beurre blanc. So, so, delish. This is a great place to come for dinner even just cocktails. In fact, Martini's are their specialty, so if you are a martini person, this is your place. Seems like it's a great place for groups, as well as just dinner for two.

Pigs in a blanket - after we ate a few

Being a native New Yorker, This is one of my fave spots for a drink, quick bites, and a vibe ! It gives you the feel like you're in swanky nyc. The staff is sweet and the cocktails are amazing. Plan to spend money but it's an experience ! The pigs in a blanket are crack

Onion soup gratinée and french dip sliders

On arriving to Phoenix from the frozen Midwest, I had a delightful lunch on the patio in the sunshine! I started, as all sunshiny meals should, with a lovely French rosé. From there, I had the lunch special with the Onion Soup Gratinée and french dip sliders all for $20. The soup was delicious enough that I burned my tongue several times trying to eat it too early. The french dip sliders were also great- piled high with tender roast beef. The au jus could have used a bit more flavor but that is a minor quibble. My server was personable and quick with recommendations. I'd plan to return for happy hour or lunch!

Fabulous restaurant, menu and bar!! Elegant, comfortable, beautifully decorated restaurant that has the best "old vibe" feel of anything that I've been to in a long time! Not to mention the amazing food and drinks. You would be remiss if you didn't get the lobster rolls with caviar appetizer. Stuffed and so delicious, topped with decadent caviar!!! The country roasted chicken over the best mashed potatoes, just melts in your mouth!! The branzino was cooked to perfection!!! And definitely don't miss the cheesecake (or honestly any of their desserts!), it's the best around!! Hopefully, you'll be lucky enough to get Jeremy as your waiter. He was so great and helpful. Overall, the best dining experience!!

Food: went here for restaurant week and it did not disappoint. It was 4 courses for $55! They gave you full size portions too. For the first course I ordered the French onion soup and it was delicious!! Second I ordered the hamachi crudo and honestly was not the best, fish didn't taste very fresh. Next I had the rigatoni pomodoro and it was delicious, simple yet tasty. Lastly, I ordered the Yule log for dessert and it was delicious. Service: I wish I remembered the servers name but he was very kind, professional and attentive Ambiance: such a fun vibe and great for date night

We stopped in for a drink and immediately loved the slightly squanky, old-school atmosphere: quirky, fun, and full of character. We did try the sushi and weren't overwhelmed by it. They did have a few items on their happy hour menu that looked tempting. The place definitely has potential, though it leans a bit on the pricey side. Our happy hour martinis were delicious, but since they were the "mini-tini" version, they disappeared quickly. Overall, a charming spot for a quick drink with a nostalgic vibe.

Top-notch! I love the changes. It's a bit brighter than before, yet elegant. Try Daisy, if you visit. The staff are wonderful!

With a newborn at home, getting a sitter and going out for a date night felt like a big deal, and The Mercer was the perfect choice. Tucked away on the non-shopping side of the Biltmore, the restaurant feels like a fancy secret. The ambiance is immediately striking: intimate, fun, and very Gatsby. We didn't have a reservation, so the staff offered us service on the patio while we waited for an inside table. Despite it raining all day, the area was surprisingly comfortable, completely dry, and offered a quiet, lovely spot for us to chat and have a drink before dinner. The standout on the menu is, without a doubt, their martini selections. Our waitress was awesome! I'm not a martini expert, and she expertly guided me to the espresso martini. My husband loved his bartender's concoction mocktail, which was a delicious key lime flavor. Our dinner was so much fun and truly felt like the special date night we'd hoped for. We were seated in a cozy, private-feeling booth, and it was nice to see others around us celebrating special occasions, too. We love getting our server's recommendations, and their insight led us to a great sequence of dishes: the lobster rolls, filet, wedge salad, and two desserts. The highlight for me was the wedge salad. It was served in a circular shape (not a traditional wedge), which I actually loved because it eliminated the awkward cutting and helped with every bite being the perfect bite. It was SO delicious I may come back just to order the wedge salad, lobster rolls, and drinks! The entire meal was exceptional, with just one small note: the macaroni and cheese could have been much saucier... some bites felt a bit dry. But honestly, the rest of the meal was so good, that small detail is barely worth mentioning! Highly recommend The Mercer for an intimate, upscale date night.

Stopped by for restaurant week and had a great experience. The restaurant is broken into 3 sections, a bar area, a dining area to the right and another dining area on the left. Definitely recommend making reservations as it can fill up quickly. Service here is great. The restaurant week menu featured a 4 course menu, so we got to try a little of everything. Everything came out full portion which was unexpected but great. The mini lobster rolls were so good and filled generously. The French onion soup was delicious and had a really great broth. The branzino was huge and the chicken melted in your mouth. Dessert ended on a high with a creamy cheesecake and a chocolate yodel. Definitely a must try spot

Stopped in for a drink with my boyfriend after we went to see a movie. Our drinks were great and they have quite a menu something for everyone I would say. The service was a little inattentive but we definitely want to come back for dinner to try more off the menu!

Elevated and indulgent. We started with all the fancy things: caviar and blinis, bone marrow, and a hamachi crudo that was literally a flavor bomb -- melt-in-your-mouth level delicious. For mains, we went all in. The branzino had perfectly crispy skin, flaky fish, and chimichurri on top that tied it all together. The steak and frites? A solid classic. But the surprise favorite? The Mercer Burger. Dry-aged, massive, packed with flavor -- and only $24?? That's a steal for the quality. Dessert was the cheesecake, and I'm still dreaming about it. Light and creamy with a buttery CAKE crust (yes, cake!), fresh strawberries, and graham cracker crumbles on the side. So simple, so good. Mercer is a whole vibe. Dark, sexy ambiance, great music, and genuinely great food. Run -- don't walk.

Sunny's Lounge was in the area, and I had passed by it before, so I decided to stop by on a Saturday night. They have a small parking lot and I was able to find a spot. If you can't find a spot, you can park for free on a side stret. Ambiance (4/5): Dive-ish is a nice way to put it. Small. But also homey and cool. There's a pool table in the corner with some seating that surrounds it. Plus some seating at the bar. Service (5/5): Friendly and attentive service. Which goes a long way. I was greeted promptly, the bartender answered my questions, and he was friendly. Everything I look for at a bar. Food (N/A): I had dinner earlier that night, so I was on a liquid diet, but Sunny's does have a limited menu mainly consisting of snacks and hot dogs. While I didn't try any of the food, there is some creativity with their food options, so I'd like to give them a try next time around. Drinks (4.5/5): While Sunny's is dive-ish, they are known for their cocktails. And they have an interesting list of creative craft cocktails to choose from. Including some tiki drinks that seem to be a collaboration with Undertow, a nearby tiki bar. Perhaps they're owned by the same people? Either way, I liked it. There's sophistication in their cocktails, which I'm always a fan of. Sunny's is a cool spot. My preference would be to go on a weekday, because if you're trying to play pool, one pool table is not enough when there's a crowd.

GOOD! inspired by taco bell's baja blast hahahah). they TREATED us to all three of their current desserts on the menu. it was the most pleasant surprise i could've imagined. my favorite was the flourless chocolate cake! it was like a thick, rich brownie, had passion fruit cream to "lighten it up" and a caramel-like taffy on the bottom my brother and sister-in-law both said their favorite was the gulab jamun (which is basically like little fried dough balls/donuts, influenced by indian flavors and spices). the mille-feuille was also fantastic - the pastry was light and airy, cream wasn't too sweet and also very light, shaved cheese on top made it have a savory bite, and the jam alongside it was strawberry rhubarb. service is always amazing, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable; it seems like everybody working here truly enjoys it. quite literally already have a reservation booked at valentine and will be coming back here beforehand. update: came back for more drinks (fernet & coke, spaghett western, negroni) and their lamb flauta. all AMAZING! and amazing order to whet the appetite before dinner at valentine.

Regardless, we gave it another shot and we were much happier the next go around. Record players in the corner and a fireplace on the opposite side of this dimly lit bar created a cozy vibe on a chilly Saturday night. We arrived right at opening and the bar filled up quickly but the volume still made it easy to have a conversation and still have an intimate night out. The drinks, this time, well balanced and delicious. My wife had the the Pantera Rosa and I had the Last Word. Both were delicious and not overly sweet. I love a good "Last Word" but the tea added a welcome and subtle layer. A nicely created cocktail without shaming the original. Servers were attentive, constantly filling up water, and making sure we were well taken care of. We will be back!

Excellent service, a Christmas tree upstairs, and no reservations required. Glad they were able to seat us considering we showed up without reservations. Downstairs gets quickly reserved so seats upstairs are where they push overflow patrons. Right outside Flint's doors downstairs there is a staircase which opens up to the upstairs dining area. Service was prompt, and we got our drinks by the time we had our mains decided. I got a glass of red to pair with my steak. My partner had a refreshing cocktail, but it was decent. The highlights of the night were the food. SO MUCH FOOD! And it was TERRIFIC! For starters we got the artichoke hummus. It sounded a bit weird, but all it was was regular hummus with 4 artichoke hearts that were crispy. The artichoke hearts were crisp, but moist, and I could have kept eating those all day. It comes with 1 pita bread. The server told us to order another and we did, turns out we needed it as the pita breads were quite small ($3 +). Sure only 3 bucks, but nickel and dime if you are spending $14 on an app... For mains I got the filet medium rare with a side of regular potatoes. My partner got the salmon skewer with a side of asparagus. Both the dishes were cooked perfectly and they were familiar dishes with a slightly exotic touch to it. Must be the middle eastern part of the restaurant. The steak came with a ganache or accompaniments of middle eastern sides. Can't recall what they were but they were great when I dipped my potatoes in them. It was sour, tart, acidic, kind of like middle eastern soy sauce. The server recommended it to us and we got it. The salmon skewer came with 5 decent sized pieces on it. Great for a small eater or someone who doesn't want their own meal. It too was delicious and had light touches of sauce or smoke on it. The asparagus is a favorite. It was cooked as usual, typical steak side and both me and my partner enjoyed it! For dessert, as it was my partners birthday the server comped the pound cake. While it was delicious, it was definitely the letdown of the meal. It was way too sweet including the layer of cream that it was doused with. The sweat cream wasn't necessary as the pound cake was incredibly sweet itself. Also, the pound cake wasn't soft like normal cake. It was quite dry once you peeled away the creme layer up top. I definitely should have gone with the Chocolate Ganache Tart. But their mess up worked in their favor. I'm definitely coming back for another meal at Flint!
