Stopped in for a quick drink and ended up doing bumps of osetra caviar. Avery makes a mean whiskey sour! I love the old speakeasy vibe. Attention to detail is not lacking. Great place to stop on for an amazing cocktail done right! read more

3 of us visited at 2:30 to an empty restaurant. It took 15 minutes to receive our cocktails. They eventually sat empty and we still didn't have our food order taken. We finally did receive our very mediocre food and our waiter literally disappeared. We couldn't get another cocktail or even our bill. Even the bartender went missing... My husband literally walked to the kitchen to ask a runner for our bill. Our guest went to the bathroom and whilst using the urinal watched a HUGE cockroach dance the conga on his urinal. YUCK! We shan't be returning!!!! The restaurant has a very cool vibe. Too bad all else didn't stand up to the vibe. Parking situation is "interesting". All in all a very disappointing visit. Sorry Mercer, you're gonna have to do much better! read more

Phoenix wake up - this restaurant has it all. The vibe is sultry and sexy. The staff is attentive and enjoyable. The cocktails are on point and reasonably priced. Had an old fashioned and it was solid. Wife had the French dip and it was really good - one of best she has had. This girl knows her beef! I had the prime rib - I am a bit of a prime rib snob and this was some of the best I have had hats off to chef - even the pigs in a blanket were really good. If you haven't tried this place go early as it was filling up by 7! Free valet is a nice touch too! read more

If you are looking for an intimate dinner venue (25 or less) that is centrally located with great food, service and ambiance, this is it! This staff was amazing. They made a custom drink and menu that my guests raved about-- making my 55th birthday dinner party everything that I dreamt it would be! read more

The Mercer - This pasta was one of my favorites from the "Valentine's day" menu - definitely coming back - Sandwiches Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

I went for a Birthday dinner certainly 10/10 love the restaurant addition with the vibe.

We loved the French onion soup, the filet with peppercorn, the chocolate cake, the French dip, the salmon, the cocktails, the atmosphere. I love taking my friends to the Mercer. Thank you for always showing us a good time with fabulous food and drinks. read more

Great ambiance and service from top to bottom. Connected to Camello and the Little Pickle which are eclectic in their own right and offer the same service standards. read more

Food was really good!, loved the cheese burger! Our server was very attentive and sweet. Cool vibe with great music.

The prime rib was awesome. Service and surroundings were fantastic The suggestion for the wine (red blend) didn't break the bank read more

We were super excited for our dinner and had scheduled early to get drinks during happy hour. Upon arriving we were told the website is incorrect and there was no happy hour that day. We ordered appetizers and drinks about 30 minutes before dinner, and had asked for our meal timed out appropriately. Our main course came out before our appetizers. The food that did come out was cold. Not cool - but actually cold. It was not a busy night and given we had issues with both the timing and quality of our meals we were not impressed. We reached out with a private message through yelp after our poor experience and did not receive a response. For the experience we had we would say this place is not worth the price. Points for our servers pleasant attitude and ambiance. We dined on July 19 and sent a private message through open table (not yelp as stated above) on July 27. read more

First time ever trying this place. I went in for a quick dinner before another event. Inside it was very loud even though it was mostly empty (it was early afternoon) except for a couple people at the bar. Service was a bit awkward which made me not want to stay too long. Despite that I really liked the interior. My dinner was subpar and bland which was unfortunate. I will say the cocktails are very good. Maybe it has better happy hour and appetizer options and is not so much a place for an actual dinner. I want to add that the branzino had several bones left in it that got stuck in my husband's throat read more

The food is amazing! The ambience is amazing! The service is amazing!! I keep coming back to The Mercer for the speak easy big city vibe, food and great cocktails! read more

The whole night was perfection! Do yourself a favor and make this your new spot for date night and all your celebrations. The atmosphere was pleasant enough to have conversations you can hear too. Miles is such a a charismatic bartender. He made us feel so welcomed. I tried the dill pickle martini. OMG if you love pickles, you have to try this! We did not take Miles's advice to try the Reuben egg rolls until our third visit. To DIE for! Thousand island dipping sauce, homemade pastrami and crunchy egg rolls. I wish I didn't crave these as much as I do! Chef came out to chat and we tried some hamachi crudo. Really good flavors and super fresh fish. They have a great happy hour program. The atmosphere is a little swanky but not pretentious. read more

We loved Merc Bar. And love Mercer even more. 10/10 Drinks food and service were awesome. read more

Everything was so good - brick chicken, French dip, oysters and pickle martinis with house dill infused vodka next level. Our favorite date night spot. Top notch service. read more

I love the French onion soup but unfortunately they were out the other night which I thought was strange since they only offer one soup. I also love the French dip as well. read more

So glad to see the transition from the Merc Bar to the The Mercer. Great spot for lunch and dinner....martini bar and bubbles, lots of great food including The Little Pickles Pastrami sandwich. Best in the city! And the service was outstanding! read more

Wow! We visited this new spot tonight and it was everything we hoped for and more. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was unmatched. Highly recommend--you have to check it out! read more

The food here is great! We got the prime rib and it was excellent. However it was the first thing that hit our table. We had to ask for utensils and then had to ask for a napkin as a follow up because the didn't think to bring us one. We barely saw our server and when we did someone it was a server bringing us food or drinks we didn't order. There is a lot of potential but they need to figure it out because the service was beyond a mess. read more

Sorry! Slow service! Small group which they knew is coming at 11:30 and our salads had no dressing on them at all so we had asked for that and then they charge 22% gratuity. Parking is ridiculous and inconvenient. read more

Outstanding service! Christopher was top notch! We love sitting at the bar and he made our experience out of this world! Food was amazing, the vibes were immaculate. Can't wait to go back! read more

Last minute decision to try the Mercer and what a lovely surprise. The Esplanade was looking pretty dead on Wednesday night but the Mercer was hopping but still cozy somehow. Service and food were actually phenomenal and I don't feel like I find myself saying that very often. We had the Oysters Rockefeller and they were done right. Fresh tasting oysters not just covered up by the toppings. Roasted chicken and mashed potatoes were perfection. Such a boring order but the chicken was so silky and just delicious. Husband had the classic martini and was delighted by the perfect temp and sheen of glass on top. Highly recommend this restaurant! read more

I attended a birthday party last night at The Mercer. I can't begin to tell you how great it was!! The food, the drinks, the atmosphere, and the service were top notch. The place was packed but food and drinks arrived right on time in spite of the fact that we were a large group and kept ordering throughout the party. I would highly recommend The Mercer for lunch, happy hour, dinner, or anytime! Great for business get togethers, date night, team building, or just because you want you to go to a beautiful place! read more

The food was amazing, very tasty and a good variety on the menu! The lighting is very date night and wonderful service for a large party! read more

The Mercer - Dry Aged Burger with Belgian Fries - Sandwiches Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

I came in because I had heard they changed the place from the merc bar some time ago just to check it out, and may I say I fell in love with what this place had become, modest and classy with a touch of speak easy and a warm atmosphere, excellent service all around and food with drinks to match. The real mvp was Myles who ensured my experience was lovely with his courtesy and kindness, very attentive whenever he was asked for, the servers the very same, will certainly be coming back! read more

I've been here twice, and the mac and cheese is a solid 10/10! The sushi hand rolls are all amazing -- my favorite is the spicy lobster. The desserts are phenomenal, and the atmosphere gives off a cool mobster, Scarface-type vibe. The staff is incredible -- if I could rate them, it'd be a 20 out of 10! read more

Great place. Food was delicious. Got a sandwich and the French onion soup. The service was right on point. Prompt, friendly, and checked to ensure everything was as expected. We will be back. read more

Absolutely the worst service, meal and overall experience we have had in years in a food establishment. For beginners, making the reservation via phone, no mention was made that Valentines diner was a special fixed price menu. Secondly, arriving on time to meet friends - the reception could not find the 7pm reservation under ANY of our 4 names (first or last) and informed the restaurant was fully booked for the evening. We called our friends who replied they had already arrived and were seated inside. 4 people seated and only one rose placed at the table. The waiter arrived with 4 tiny glasses of champagne - not asking before or knowing that 3 of us did not drink alcohol. Moving forward, the first item delivered was a small glass of what looked like clear jello cubes - which tasted horrible. Then, 2 small for each person crostini's arrived - nothing special. The mains arrived and were horrible. The menu and waiter both pushed adding a protein to the pasta (adding more $ to the "fixed" price). Chicken was chosen a was overcooked and dry. Desert was just as disappointing and both options looked and tasted like something from Safeway or what you would get on an airplane flying economy. Then the bill arrived, $100 per person, the bottom line after adding mocktails, protein and tax was over $500! The Melrose shares a commissary type kitchen with its sister restaurants - Camello (Mexican where 3 enchiladas are $42) and Little Pickle. We will never return to any of these places, totally disappointed with food quality at a $100 per person price. NOT worth a second chance - none of us would ever go back. Many restaurants in that location have never survived - including The Hard Rock* (*early 1980's). read more

Love, love, love this place! Thank you for reviving such an icon in the valley! Fabulous happy hour & atmosphere! 2nd time here- will be back! Thank you so much! read more

Caio was our server for the night and first off the service was perfect. Food and drinks were delicious. Beautiful ambiance inside the dining room and bar, not to mention the comfortable, stylish chairs. Favorite dishes of the night were the salmon tartare and obviously the yummy French dip. I absolutely recommend this restaurant and I will be returning 10/10! read more

beth the bartender was so friendly and welcoming, i absolutely loved my visit and cant wait to come back :)

Absolutely loved our first visit to The Mercer and the cozy, jazz vibe! Super friendly staff, Jeremy took great care of us. We started with flatbreads & Greek salad. Who would have thought pigs-in-a-blanket would be such a hit?! Ribeye & Branzino were perfect. Definitely save room for tiramisu - beautiful presentation! We'll be back - Cheers! read more

I am beyond thrilled the hospitality group 151Hospitality opened The Mercer(formerly The Merc Bar-Biltmore). I went on my birthday and was treated like a queen! The ambience is my favorite. Not trendy or pretentious. You feel like you are in an authentic city supper club/bar. I had an amazing dry vodka martini in an ice cold glass to start. Bartenders Myles and Brandon know their craft! 5 stars for server Caio who made my birthday dinner feel special. Every course we had by Chef Jonathan was over the top perfection. My favorites were the Lobster rolls, seafood platters, and Branzino. The Mercer is a new best kept secret for now but I have a feeling it won't be for too much longer. *Check out their other concept The Little Pickle next door for New York deli style menu. The Lox was amazing! Thank you everyone at The Mercer for making my birthday a memorable one!! read more
