    Chicken soup dumplings

Don't be afraid of the line. It goes fast. Overall, it's good but not great. Uneven service. Clean, modern venue. Let's talk about food. We ordered cucumber salad, hot and sour soup, beef green onion dumplings, chicken soup dumplings, and pork shumai. Way too much food for 2 but we wanted to try different stuff. Beware everything is served very hot. Soup: lots of stuff in it but not hot or sour. Cucumber salad: good flavor, cut too thick, not smashed sufficiently. Beef and green onion dumplings: 5 star. Delicious. Best thing we had. Pork shumai: bland but ok dipped in sauce. 4/5 Chicken soup dumplings: very easy to break and lose all the soup. Overcooked wrapping. Tasty but bland. 4/5.

I want to keep this place a secret. Finally some bomb ass authentic Chinese food down south! Wait staff is super attentive and kind and always ready to give recommendations. They do get packed on the weekends so put your name down! You can watch the chefs prep the food in the corner window. Dishes come out as they are made so be patient! Soup dumplings are perfect. I've had almost everything on the menu and my faves are the Black Pepper Beef Udon, MApo Tofu. And yes, yes, yes, a huge ass container of chili oil on each table so they don't skimp on ensuring you got flava flaves on standby. Definitely a go to spot for a lil Dim sum cravings and Chinese dishes packed with flavor.

Omgeeeeee best Chinese South Austin! We ordered carry out and the process was simple and fast. I drove about ten minutes there and found the restaurant to be hidden away in a corner in parking lot. There were people dining inside but also many pickups. The staff was nice and the food was hot and fresh! Best chicken fried rice I've had in Austin! Bar none! The cheese wontons were yummy and the spicy chicken was delicious! I probably should have ordered medium because the mild spice level was subtle for me. They did include chili sauce though which was much appreciated. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

I'd give this a 4/5 stars First note for parents with littles, there aren't any changing tables in the bathrooms, so something to keep in mind before coming in with them. As a new mom this kind of thing is important to me. The restaurant is family friendly, I just wished they had that. It certainly helps sometimes. Besides that the food was great, we went during an after lunch rush so it wasn't busy and there were many tables open. We were given some great recommendations by friends and the staff and everything tasted great. No complaints there! 5/5 for the food honestly. I really enjoyed that you could see them making fresh dumplings through the glass window. The staff was great too. Friendly and like I said gave great recommendations. Filled our waters and sort of checked in on us politely. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice. It's small but not too small. It's tucked in the corner of the strip mall and parking was easy to find.

This is my first time going to be dumpling, my friend took me as a suggestion because he really liked it. As soon as we arrived it was super busy but they were able to seat us immediately. We got a handful of items to try out between the pork soup dumplings , chicken and corn pot stickers, cucumber salad, and kung pao chicken. All the food was hot and fresh made to order for sure! Servers were very attentive to making recommendations on how to sauce items and fast with refills. The Ambiance of the restaurant was very bright and high energy. Would go again! No true complaints

NOTE: I think my expectations are a bit higher just because I'm from Houston (where there's more Chinese food) and Taiwanese. Is this like Din Tai Fung? No but it's a pretty good place for soup dumplings/Chinese food. The restaurant is smaller than I thought but luckily did not have to wait long for a table. Seems pretty popular based on all the take out orders I saw and people dining. They look like they have the service down just from seeing how all the orders were being handled. We also didn't have to wait long for the food. Regarding the food: we tried things from the fried rice to appetizers to main dishes. The soup dumplings were a good size and the filling was good, just wish there was more soup. My favorite was actually the chili wontons; I would come back just for that. We got the braised beef noodle soup and I expected it to come in chunks of beef, not slices. Also got some specials Including the lamb which definitely has a kick of spice. Overall large portions and good food but nothing really stood out. Still a good addition to the Austin area though.

Soup dumplings are yummy. I appreciate that they are hand made. Dumpling skin is thick enough to hold the filling and not fall apart. There's a little window in the kitchen you can see them make the dumplings from scratch. We got the mild mapo tofu without realizing. Will try the spicy one next time. Wonton soup is simple yet delicious. Comes with 10 wontons. Portions are large family style so you'll def have leftovers. Service is fast, attentive, and friendly. Came in a Sunday late lunch and it was very busy. Waited about 20 mins.

We stopped by after hearing about this place on social media. We went early enough in the day that we didn't have to wait to be seated. Near the end of our meal, there was a line to dine. We ordered a variety of food to try. The soup dumplings were great! The barbecue pork buns (not pictured) were great. Will definitely come back for those, and the dumplings. Everything was not overly salty (which my dad would love). Service was great. Nice vibe. Will be back!

Service was quick, friendly and attentive. Could not have asked for more. Every food item we ordered was delicious. Soup dumplings were well prepared and just the right temperature (didn't burn ourselves eating them). My son ate most of the bbq pork buns. I didn't get to try them but he loved them. The beef roll was my favorite item. Wonderful flavor and the green onion was a great balance to the heaviness of the beef and sweetness of the sauce. So thankful to have this restaurant in South Austin.

Braised Beef and Beef Tendon Noodle Soup

I'm always a sucker for trying out a new Asian spot in town, and I typically judge first impressions by trying their pork soup dumplings and beef noodle soup. I appreciated the fact that the soup dumplings were handmade, and there's even a transparent window at a station in the kitchen where you see the staff make the dumplings live! The dumpling skin was thin (just how I like it) but still sturdy to hold the meat and soup. Although the flavor of the meat was excellent, I did wish for a bit more soup/juic in the dumplings. As for the Braised Beef and Tendon Soup, I think it did its job but the flavor profile did not exceed my expectations. They did provide a generous amount of protein but I didn't like the noodles they used for this dish. It was more like stringy ramen noodles, and I was expecting for this dish to have more authentic hand-pulled or knife-peeled noodles. My friend and I also shared a side order of their Cucumber Salad, which I really liked! It was crunchy yet soft and there is definitely a spice kick in their sauce (but the spice doesn't linger). I would get this specific dish again! Overall, it was a good first-time experience but I would still rank Julie's Noodles as my top contender for beef noodle soup and Dumpling World for my soup dumpling cravings!

I heard this restaurant is a "Din Tai Fung Dupe" which perked my interest. Having no Din Tai Fung in Austin meant that anything close to that would be worth a 30 minute drive from North Austin to South Austin. The place looked like a normal Chinese restaurant, not a high end place like Din Tai Fung so I was looking forward to some good food at a more reasonable price. We got to a strip mall with the restaurant in the corner around 7PM on Friday. The restaurant was packed with people seated in the waiting area and some folks even sitting in their cars the parking lot. The wait for this Friday evening was quoted as 40 minutes but we only had to wait 30 minutes. One thing to know is that when you place the order, the food comes out in sequence not all at once. I don't think that they came out as the food was ready none of these dishes take longer than the others to make. They did come one at a time about 3-4 minutes between each dish. This is good and bad. We ordered Peach tea Kumquat tea, which came out first. The Peach tea was especially notable because it has a Japanese-esq light, sweat, peachy taste to it and this was better than the Kumquat tea in my opinion. Next came the Cucumber Salad. This salad is a bit different than what we had experienced before at Din Tai Fung, as it was very spicy. I would say it may be too spicy for those how are unable to handle more than minimal spiciness. Having a specially trained taste buds especially tuned for a high level of spices, this cucumber salad was really great for me! It woke the taste buds and prepared them for the savor coming later. Next came the onion pancakes. The pancakes with thin and light. Not super different than your typical pancakes but they were less greasy and were another welcomed appetizer. The third dish was the Shrimp fried rice. The ship was not chopped up as typical fried rice, but part of the dish as whole shrimp. The rice was sticker than normal fried rice and was a bit heavier the rice had absorbed the sauce quite well. We ended up deciding that we liked this version of the fried rice as a good change up. The fourth arrival was the shumai dumping. They were good but not anything to write about. They had bit of extra texture with minced water chestnuts in it. Next came the main draw for this restaurant. The Pork Xiao Long Bao was very good. The soup in the dumplings were tasty and the dumping skin was nice and thin. It came what the prerequisite side of ginger to put on top of each mouthful of bao. The last thing to come out was the spinach sautéed with garlic. This was good also, we just wished it would have come out earlier as we ended having to eat just spinach by itself without the mains. The menu was a plethora of options, given how good the food was, we will definitely be coming back to try the other options, including the lomein. Now this Din Tai Fun dupe compares well against other normal Chinese restaurants, but the menu doesn't have the specialties and exotic-ness as special as Din Tai Fung's, but it does have a lot more options. The price was pretty reasonable also... all this was $71 before tips. So with no Din Tai Fung in Austin, this is a good lower-cost alternative.

Bee Dumpling aka One Bite Dumpling is an adaptive Chinese restaurant. In an environment where fresh pea shoots aren't readily available, they sub the dish with spinach instead. Soup dumplings and limited dim sum can also be found on the menu. There may not be someone making the dim sum in house but the food was, overall, quite good. Dumplings maybe a little too thick skinned and the veggie one was filled with vermicelli, but it had good flavor. No frills interior, enough versatile seating for bigger groups. It was full when we went. This part of Austin is lacking authentic Chinese restaurants so Bee Dumpling is a happy, repeat visit find.

So glad we have a delicious Chinese spot right by us. Went here the other night and ordered: 1. Black pepper udon noodles - this was just OK but it was nice to try something different. 2. Orange chicken - delicious and slightly spicy 3. Pork soup dumplings - not the best I've ever had but def good. Portions are big, so they're easily shareable. Will be back to try new dishes! And the service was great - everything made fresh!

The restaurant's "landlocked life, coastal state of mind" concept comes through in the menu, featuring seafood-forward dishes, creative cocktails, and Gulf-inspired flavors. I ordered a custom crafted Black Cherry Muddled Mezcal Margarita, which was a great balance of smoky mezcal, sweetness, and fresh flavors. It was a unique twist on a classic margarita and was the highlight of the meal. I started with the Roasted Carrots, served with whipped ricotta, watercress, date vinaigrette, and candied pecans. While the combination of flavors was interesting, the dish felt more like a salad than a true roasted carrot dish. The carrots were also a bit overcooked, and I would have preferred for the carrots themselves to be the main focus and shine as the highlight of the dish. For my entrée, I ordered the Cioppino and customized it by removing the clams and adding extra mussels. The dish featured mussels, white fish, shrimp, and chopped clams in a flavorful tomato broth served with grilled sourdough. The seafood was well prepared, however the broth was a bit too thick like a marinara consistency but had good rich and savory flavor. The restaurant was not very busy during my visit, which made for a relaxed dining experience. The atmosphere is casual yet polished, and it's a nice spot for anyone looking for coastal flavors without having to leave Austin.

From the opening preview when the shrimp hot dog made its debut -- an ambitious choice, but not one that made me excited to come back -- to the overly salty crab fingers and other menu items that have felt like they were trying to be interesting rather than actually being delicious, it just hasn't come together. The biggest frustration is that the potential is clearly there. The location is great, the concept is unique, and Circle C needs more restaurants that people can't wait to return to. Now for the action...THE FOOD Drinks 5/10: lots of ice, no real flavor Andouille & cheddar hush puppies 6/10: these had a nice flavor to them and they were fresh and hot when they came out. They weren't too greasy which was nice. The sauce it came with was OK. It wasn't my favorite though. Redfish and crab 5/10: I feel like the menu duped me. On the menu it says the fish is pan seared however my fish had a crust on it. Not a pan fried...it had crust as if they coated it....a literal crust. I did green beans instead of asparagus. The green beans were a little overcooked, but they were seasoned well and had great flavor. I'm not really a fan of warm tomatoes, but it added something different to the green beans for me. TLC signature crab boil 8/10: good portions, flavor was good. French fries 4/10: ketchup saved these fries. Too much parsley and lacked flavor. Plus they were not hot.
