    Home style Bean curd
    Emily W.

Visited on a weekend evening for dinner and was in and out in around 30 mins! Would've been less, but with an extensive menu I couldn't decide what I wanted. Service was one of the best experiences I've had in Austin, our waitress and very attentive with everything and very kind. Observed this with the other waitresses as well. They have bar, indoor and outdoor seating. Any would be enjoyable in this modern space. Ordered the krab rangoons, which were generously filled and had a crispy shell. Enjoyed the sauce that came with, but were good all on their own. I ended up ordering the homestyle bean curd and portion is huge. You could make 2-3 meals out of what they give you! Pricing is also very fair for what you get and the service. There is limited parking out front, but if you take the small ally there will be a much bigger parking lot. Highly recommend!

Full disclosure: I'm not feeling well and my taste is a little off. We ordered the Chicken Jalapeño and the Sautéed Trio. Lunch specials come with egg drop or hot and sour soup AND an eggroll. The portions were large. The sautéed trio was lightly sauced with a mild flavor. The jalapeño chicken was heavily fried and not spicy. It was all very salty. The egg drop soup had frozen veggies, and it would have been better just eggs. I still appreciated it though. The staff was efficient and very nice. The outdoor patio looked like a great place to spend an extended meal. The do have a couple of tvs so you can watch the game, too. I'll try it again when I'm feeling better.

A favorite of the locals! Susie is the owner. She walks around and talks to everyone welcomes you if you've never been there before shows you the menu that you know what wines they have available what beers they have available locals were there I believe from the neighborhood there was also gentlemen in suits, having lively banter about politics about life enjoy enjoying their lunch. She walks the room and make sure that during your lunch you have exactly what you need very friendly outgoing and I will be back.! The dining room is open with natural light coming through a beautiful mural of a cherry tree when you walk in there is a television over the bar area towards the back outdoor seating. Most people were not involved in watching the television. They were involved in conversation.

Suzi's will always have a special place in my heart. This restaurant helped me discover the flavors I love most, all the way back to the old-school South Lamar location...before the construction, before the city changed so much. I visited every one of Suzi's restaurants over the years and was a regular for a long time. When the last one closed, I was genuinely sad to see her go but deeply grateful for her lasting impact on the Austin dining scene. Now that Suzi's is back, every visit feels like coming home. The warmth, the familiar flavors, the consistency--it's all still there. The team makes you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in, and the food is as comforting and delicious as ever. My two all-time favorites are the Malaysian Chicken and the Sesame Shrimp, both absolute standouts that never disappoint. Every time I leave, I'm reminded why Suzi's remains an Austin treasure. It's more than just great Chinese food...it's a piece of the city's heart and history.

Randomly came to Suzi's one day and it was a solid experience. It was more of an elevated Chinese vibe and at least for me I like a more homemade down-to-earth feel for Chinese food. The prices were pretty high considering it's Chinese food but the taste was good. Suzi even came to talk to us and she is such a lovely amazing person who was so sweet. I would come back just for that queen

We decided to check out Suzi's randomly because we were in the area and WOW. Hidden Gem! The restaurant has been around for 2 years, but looked brand spanking new (aka very clean and tidy). The staff was extremely friendly, and Suzi even came up and interacted with us for a bit. The lunch special was solid: Soup, Egg Roll, and Entree for about $18 or so (depending on what you got). We will definitely be back!

Suzi's Chinese is one of those rare places that just makes you feel at home the moment you walk in. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming; you can tell they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in what they serve. It's the kind of place where they remember you after a few visits and always greet you with a smile. As for the food... phenomenal. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The veggies were crisp, the sauces perfectly balanced, and the portions generous. You can taste the difference here compared to so many other spots. It's quickly become one of my favorite comfort food places in town. If you're craving great Chinese food made by wonderful people, you need to check this place out.

Our server was incredibly nice and sweet, making us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. We started with jasmine tea, which was the perfect accompaniment throughout our meal. For appetizers, we ordered the Peking dumplings with beef. They arrived beautifully crispy and flavorful, with a delicious dipping sauce. We started with the "three delight" , which was light with generous portions of protein, especially shrimp. It was subtle yet complex, neither overly savory nor tangy, but with a delicate, natural flavor profile. The sesame chicken was amazing. The sauce was spectacular. Every bite was perfection. The fried rice was also great. A bit bitter. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience.

Home-cooked Chinese in fine accommodations, suited for your best night out in Austin. Their plates are great as shareables (but who doesn't love some take-home?!), soup complimentary just like my favorite fortune cookies. Coming back for the firecracker shrimp (breaded recommended) after dark!

My wife and I had dinner at Suzi's tonight and it was amazing from start to finish. We ordered the Pekin ravioli, combo fried rice, sesame chicken, Three Delight, and jasmine tea. The dumplings were golden, crispy, and packed with flavor. The jasmine tea was calming and fragrant, the kind that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. The sesame chicken was easily a 10/10 crunchy on the outside, soft inside, with a sauce that was perfectly balanced, not too sweet or heavy. The Three Delight was fresh and flavorful, the shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked, and the veggies added the perfect touch. The combo fried rice was loaded with shrimp, chicken, and beef, and everything tasted well seasoned and fresh. Service was great too our server was friendly, gave us great recommendation, and made us feel welcome. Overall, Suzi's delivered an amazing dinner. We'll definitely be coming back.

I ordered hot and sour pork soup. I had never had hot and sour soup with meat. Portions were generous, ingredients fresh, and the food arrived smoking hot. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the restaurant was completely full and customers were continuing to flow in. Because the restaurant is rather small, I had to wait about 20 minutes for my order. Jim, one of the owners, said if I had ordered 3 items it would take about 45 minutes, that's why I went with one. The cumin seeds give it that signature earthy, aromatic flavor and you get a slight tingly numbing spice sensation from the chilis and peppercorn. The lamb is not overly gamey, but it still does taste like lamb so if you are not really a lamb fan, I'd choose something else. - Jumping Fish: A very popular dish! Tender white fish fillets that is so soft it melts in your mouth. It is in a flavorful oil and broth that is refreshing from the fresh jalapenos. It is a savory dish, yet still relatively mild. It commes with napa cabbage as well! This was my favorite dish and I loved the flavor combined with the white rice. - Mapo Tofu (Vegetarian): They have one with pork as well, but I got the vegetarian version. Silky soft tofu cubes in that signature mapo tofu sauce and numbing peppercorns. Despite the appearance of all the dishes, none of them were very spicy. Overall, a comforting soft, spicy, savory dish with a slight tingle. - Eggplant in garlic sauce: A deliciously sweet and umami garlic sauce. The eggplants could have been a bit more cooked through in my opinion though since it was still quite firm. I loved it still! Note that all the dishes to me were not spicy just had an underlying subtle spice or tingle (like a finishing flavor note if you will). Also, since it is sichuan the dishes are on the oilier side. You order with the cashier at the front and pay up front as well. Food comes out quickly. It is a small space with three rows of tables (maybe around 12-15 tables give or take), so it does fill up fast. I went at around 5:40 PM on a Thursday and there was no wait, but by the time we finished eating at around 7PM, the restaurant was full. House of Three Gorges was hyped up a lot on my social media feed and through word of mouth, so I came in with high expectations. Luckily, they did not disappoint.

So here's a quick lil announcement though. The wait for the apps was short, but the wait for my main dish was 15-20 minutes I don't think my wait is Normally that long but just a heads up. This is the cost of cheap but great quality food. For the appetizers I got the spicy shrimp and the steam chicken dumplings. They both came out really hot so be careful lol. Man the spicy shrimp was very delicious and spicy! But not too spicy for me because I'm use to it but if you're not a spicy veteran this does have a good kick. I loved the sauce and the lettuce, which i used pieces of it to scoop and eat my shrimp in whole. This is a 5/5 recommend The dumplings came out in a pair for like 4-5 dollars I think. It was very hot and soft. The only thing tho was that the meat inside the dumpling was a lil dry compared to a lot of Asian restaurants I've tried BUT it tasted good and was flavor. 4/5. I got the Ox tail Beef broth soup and the Nasi Padang. The ox tail was very good, it has its spices but it's a simple soup with the meat, the potatoes and chopped up tomatoes all thrown into the bowl, with wontons. I used the side chili they gave me, lime into the soup. It was so much to eat for me including the rice with the bowl. Of soup was a lot. Because it was ox the price was a bit high so like 19 which is reasonable. The broth was great, it's simple yet very delectable. The Nasi Padang, was a curry based plate with two types of meat, shredded beef and chicken, two different curry flavors. One was sweet and the other was tangy which was different. It wasn't my favorite but the ox tail definitely beat it. Overall this place was really good and something yall should doif you wanna eat out on budget but good.
