Exactly what I was hoping for from a place like this. Food very solid quality for the price. The portions are literally astonishing. A COMPLETE container of the chicken you order, and then the rice coming in a separate pint container is so elite. Sesame chicken was perfection, and I liked the garlic chicken and wonton! A really good experience, will return! I think this is probably my go-to chinese takeout in austin from now on

Service is always extremely fast! Between my mom, my grandma and I. We at least get their food once or twice a month. The sesame chicken general tso's chicken and broccoli and lemon chicken are always solid. Every time when we have ordered! We usually get fried rice and hot and sour soup and those always hit the spot! Pick up inside. The store is always fast and easy. Can never go wrong with the lunch special that they run Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m..

I'm simultaneous disappointed and impressed. Disappointed because when I order "broccoli with tofu," I expect deep-fried tofu with crispy edges, smothered in a garlicky brown sauce. A bit trashy, oily, but comforting and nostalgic. This version is decidedly more healthy, with huge chunks of steamed firm tofu in a very light, almost clear, almost flavorless sauce. That said, I really can't be mad; it was a TON of surprisingly healthy, fresh, and hot food. No lie, it must have been at least two pounds of protein and veggies, plus a pint STUFFED full of white rice, crispy wonton chips, and a fortune cookie. All of one regular entree order, not even a lunch special. Knowing this, absolutely I'd order again. Just spring for some hot chili oil to spice things up.

Spicy combo lo-mein and reg egg roll

Still hankering for potstickers/dumplings I decided to order from here as I haven't been in a while and remembered it being good. I called to put in an order for delivery but now they only deliver withing a 2 or 3 mile radius and apparently I'm about 5 miles. I wasn't going to order but after getting through my hairwash day and a quick yoga session I was hungry enough to fight the 5pm traffic. I called back and ordered combo lo-mein (spicy), steamed dumplings and 1 egg roll. I wasn't given my total over the phone but it didn't matter. I was told 15-20 minutes, which was just enough time to throw on sweats and get up the road. I made it there rather quickly. I'm sure before 20 minutes had passed since placing my order. I walked in and right up to the counter. The gentleman there wasn't overly friendly. Pretty blunt and straight to the point, asking me for my phone number immediately when I reached the counter. Surprisingly my food was ready and waiting! Even with his demeanor, he still found it within himself to fill me in on his allergy woes while he ran my card. I just found the juxtaposition a bit funny. I got home just as quickly as I'd made it to the restaurant and was seated and ready to eat in no time. To my delight everything was still hot and fresh. The lo-mein wasn't as spicy as I would have liked but I do find that most of the time. I think they try to account for the American pallet and not make it as spicy even when requested. Outside of that it was EXTREMELY tasty! It was loaded with meat, mostly beef. But there was also a ton of shrimp and I think it was pork. There was probably more meat than even noodles! and the veg was almost non existent. Even though I enjoy veggies I don't think anyone would complain about having an overload of meat in their dish. The egg roll was beautifully brown on the outside and fresh and crisp on the inside with the veggies and ground meat. It was exactly what a really good egg roll should be and for some reason so many places do wrong. Here, it's perfection. The dumplings said it came in a serving of 6 but my container had 8. I couldn't believe it! And they were so good!! The wrapper was the perfect thickness with no remanence of oil anywhere. I keep wasabi at home and I mixed it with the soy sauce and was in heaven. I only stopped coming here because there's a place closer and ones that deliver but none of them hold up to this place. I'll start coming here again because its more than worth the drive and definitely worth the money.

Delicious and still huge portions. I miss dine in, but take out is fast. Dinner portion is huge with enough soup and entree for several meals, so still my jam after all these years. If you bus, the stop is right in front of the restaurant, so very convenient if you live nearby. Will def be back, and it was great to pay the restaurant directly for once, not DoorDash or Grubhub. Got all the food pictured for $16 -can't beat it.

The standout was the shrimp pancake that had a really great texture and flavor. The snow crab ball had a strange texture with shrimp surrounding the snow crab claw. The Chinese Sticky Rice is always a favorite. Also ordered the Truffle Egg Fried rice and Birds Nest with Seasonal Vegetable. The Truffle rice is so flavorful like a flavor explosion in your mouth. The Birds Nest is made with fried potato shreds which contain the a variety of vegetables including cauliflower, peppers, mushrooms and asparagus. The nest is also edible and has a crunchy texture. I ordered hot and sour pork soup. I had never had hot and sour soup with meat. Portions were generous, ingredients fresh, and the food arrived smoking hot. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the restaurant was completely full and customers were continuing to flow in. Because the restaurant is rather small, I had to wait about 20 minutes for my order. Jim, one of the owners, said if I had ordered 3 items it would take about 45 minutes, that's why I went with one. The cumin seeds give it that signature earthy, aromatic flavor and you get a slight tingly numbing spice sensation from the chilis and peppercorn. The lamb is not overly gamey, but it still does taste like lamb so if you are not really a lamb fan, I'd choose something else. - Jumping Fish: A very popular dish! Tender white fish fillets that is so soft it melts in your mouth. It is in a flavorful oil and broth that is refreshing from the fresh jalapenos. It is a savory dish, yet still relatively mild. It commes with napa cabbage as well! This was my favorite dish and I loved the flavor combined with the white rice. - Mapo Tofu (Vegetarian): They have one with pork as well, but I got the vegetarian version. Silky soft tofu cubes in that signature mapo tofu sauce and numbing peppercorns. Despite the appearance of all the dishes, none of them were very spicy. Overall, a comforting soft, spicy, savory dish with a slight tingle. - Eggplant in garlic sauce: A deliciously sweet and umami garlic sauce. The eggplants could have been a bit more cooked through in my opinion though since it was still quite firm. I loved it still! Note that all the dishes to me were not spicy just had an underlying subtle spice or tingle (like a finishing flavor note if you will). Also, since it is sichuan the dishes are on the oilier side. You order with the cashier at the front and pay up front as well. Food comes out quickly. It is a small space with three rows of tables (maybe around 12-15 tables give or take), so it does fill up fast. I went at around 5:40 PM on a Thursday and there was no wait, but by the time we finished eating at around 7PM, the restaurant was full. House of Three Gorges was hyped up a lot on my social media feed and through word of mouth, so I came in with high expectations. Luckily, they did not disappoint.

This is the cost of cheap but great quality food. For the appetizers I got the spicy shrimp and the steam chicken dumplings. They both came out really hot so be careful lol. Man the spicy shrimp was very delicious and spicy! But not too spicy for me because I'm use to it but if you're not a spicy veteran this does have a good kick. I loved the sauce and the lettuce, which i used pieces of it to scoop and eat my shrimp in whole. This is a 5/5 recommend The dumplings came out in a pair for like 4-5 dollars I think. It was very hot and soft. The only thing tho was that the meat inside the dumpling was a lil dry compared to a lot of Asian restaurants I've tried BUT it tasted good and was flavor. 4/5. I got the Ox tail Beef broth soup and the Nasi Padang. The ox tail was very good, it has its spices but it's a simple soup with the meat, the potatoes and chopped up tomatoes all thrown into the bowl, with wontons. I used the side chili they gave me, lime into the soup. It was so much to eat for me including the rice with the bowl. Of soup was a lot. Because it was ox the price was a bit high so like 19 which is reasonable. The broth was great, it's simple yet very delectable. The Nasi Padang, was a curry based plate with two types of meat, shredded beef and chicken, two different curry flavors. One was sweet and the other was tangy which was different. It wasn't my favorite but the ox tail definitely beat it. Overall this place was really good and something yall should doif you wanna eat out on budget but good.
