Pho Please has a very modern, minimalist vibe and feels super clean inside. It definitely does not feel like a traditional pho or Vietnamese restaurant at all, which might be a plus or minus depending on what you are looking for. I have been here for both lunch and dinner and it is pretty busy during both times, so clearly it is popular. I tried the Pho Please pho and the mi kho dry egg noodles. The pho was fine but nothing really stood out. It tasted good enough but did not have that depth or richness that makes you crave pho again. The mi kho dry egg noodles were also pretty mid and honestly lacked flavor. It felt like something was missing and I kept wanting to add more to make it pop. I also got the brown sugar milk tea, which I actually really liked. It was very sweet, which worked for me, but some of my friends thought it was way too sweet for their taste. I went here with a friend on a chilly day, and it was the perfect time for pho. The food was excellent and the experience overall was really enjoyable. You order at the counter and then take a seat while they bring the food out. The staff was very friendly and the customer service was great. The pho itself was really good, and as a vegetarian, I especially appreciated the options. It's not always easy to find good vegetarian pho, so I loved that they offered a full salad bar where I could add lots of fresh veggies to my bowl. That's something you don't see at many places. Pho is solid here and they have tripes and tendon which could be hard to find if you end up at a more Americanized VIet restaurant. While their vermicelli is decent, I would not go here if you're looking for authentic vermicelli. The veggies they use is spring mix. While spring mix is a much healthier ( in term of nutrition) it is not what we use for vermicelli. There should be typical lettuce and different types of herbs like mints, etc.. used in this dish. We ordered the combo which comes with 2 proteins and an egg. We chose shrimps and short ribs. Ribs were lean so it was a bit dry and somewhat tough. Shrimp was perfectly charred! I also appreciate their condiments bar. I love lots of lime I my food and even my water so it is extremely nice to be able to self-serve for the extra lime and herb veggies toppings. Had a hankering for pho with the recent cold front so I decided to try pho please, which was the closest spot that had good reviews. It did not disappoint, as it satisfied my craving and also showed me one of the more reasonable and delicious Bahn mi's I've had in the city. It is a order at the counter and sit down after establishment, and the interior isn't very big and can be busy, but the girl taking my order was pretty helpful with the questions I had, though she was vegan so it wasn't an exact match lol. I got the grilled pork banh mi and was questioning why it was $11 (higher than I'm used to) but when I saw the size it was completely justifiable. It's the largest banh mi I've seen in Austin so far. The bread is the chewy kind, which I really enjoyed. There are some tables on the side and some longer tables - good for larger parties. It was nice that cilantro, etc. was all self serve. A few years in, and sadly, Pho Please is losing its authenticity with each passing visit. After flying back into town, I was in dire need of Vietnamese food pronto. I came in 15 minutes before closing time and though I was happy to take my order to-go, the cashier kindly stated we were more than welcome to dine in. I ordered the Pho with Mignon Steak and a side of Eggrolls. When the Eggrolls arrived, they came with a sweet and sour sauce, which is a big no-no for a Vietnamese. We need our nuoc mam!! Once I requested it, I was ready to dive in... until I saw how clear the fish sauce looked. I reassured myself to keep an open mind! Unfortunately, no amount of positive reinforcement saved the eggrolls. They were bland... even with the fish sauce!! I could only eat one, which says a lot considering my partner and I usually fight over eggrolls. After touring UT Austin, my mom and I were starving and decided to come here. We were immediately drawn in by the pictures of the self-serve toppings bar filled with unlimited green onions, cilantro, and lime wedges. The crab rangoons were also pretty standard and could've used more imitation crab, but they're my guilty pleasure, so I still enjoyed them. For my main dish, I ordered the Spicy Lemongrass Bun Bo Hue, which is one of my favorite Vietnamese noodle soups. While it wasn't spicy, it had a strong, fragrant lemongrass flavor that I really enjoyed. The thick noodles, rare steak, flank steak, bacon, meatballs, and Vietnamese ham were all cooked perfectly. I especially appreciated how generous and varied the toppings were. The portion was huge, and I could only finish about half the bowl. My mom went with the Grilled Pork Chops with Rice, and she loved it. The pork chops were so tender and packed with flavor that they practically melted in your mouth. Honestly, they were some of the best pork chops I've ever had, so I'm really glad the lady at the counter recommended them. To wash it all down, we ordered a Matcha Green Thai Tea and a regular Thai Tea, both of which were refreshing and complemented the meal perfectly. Oh my, this place is good. I did takeout for two people this week, and as we all know, takeout is rarely 100%. Pho Please was close... The portion is still big and they give a good amount of meat this time. It's a good ratio between the meat, noodles, and broth. Flavor is also much better now. Being a native Vietnamese, I hold a very high standard for Vietnamese food, especially pho. Pho Please is getting very close to the authentic one in Vietnam. Each region in Vietnam has slightly different flavors in their pho. Pho Please is on the slightly sweeter side, which is fine. We didn't order appetizers but saw that their spring rolls are big and crab rangoons are fluffy. Give this place a try if you're nearby, and experience good Vietnamese pho! read more

Met up here with my good friend to catch up. If you're starving and want huge portions, this is your best bet! Their portions are massive! I ordered a vermicelli bowl, but it was basically a platter! I think my mistake was coming to a Pho place then choosing Bun Bo Hue. The broth lacked the richness and flavor that is the foundation of a good soup! It also had an inch of grease floating on top that I have to spoon off. Bun Bo Hu is normally slightly on the spicy side. This one isn't. They do provide chili oil, that wasnt really spicy. It may be that they found most people in the area didn't like the spiciness of it. Solid 3 stars if you're looking for a quick pho.
