Fantastic bahn mi sandwiches! Had the pork previously and the shrimp tonight and it is absolutely the best I have had in Austin. Large and a fantastic deal for only $11! Might be the best deal for a sandwich in Austin. Also had the spicy lemongrass bun bo hue and it's delicious and huge! Must be shared. It's way too much meat for me. Another great value deal for only $16!
This is my go-to spot in the East Riverside area whenever I'm craving pho because it's consistently good and I've never had a bad experience. I love the casual ambiance where you order at the counter and they deliver the food to your table. There's a condiment bar with unlimited toppings like lime wedges, green onion, red onion, cilantro, etc. so you can grab additional ingredients to your heart's content! I also like that most of their entrees come in one-size because I can sometimes take forever deciding between multiple sizes haha. As a call-out, their combination pho (called the Pho Please) does not come with meatballs so please keep that in mind since some pho restaurants do include meatballs with the combination option.
I went here with a friend on a chilly day, and it was the perfect time for pho. The food was excellent and the experience overall was really enjoyable. You order at the counter and then take a seat while they bring the food out. The staff was very friendly and the customer service was great. The pho itself was really good, and as a vegetarian, I especially appreciated the options. It's not always easy to find good vegetarian pho, so I loved that they offered a full salad bar where I could add lots of fresh veggies to my bowl. That's something you don't see at many places. We also ordered the tofu rice paper rolls, which were delicious, and the peanut sauce was especially good. This is a super casual spot not fancy, but the food is solid and comforting. Parking was easy, which is always a plus. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it, especially on a cold day.
Pho Please has a very modern, minimalist vibe and feels super clean inside. It definitely does not feel like a traditional pho or Vietnamese restaurant at all, which might be a plus or minus depending on what you are looking for. I have been here for both lunch and dinner and it is pretty busy during both times, so clearly it is popular. I tried the Pho Please pho and the mi kho dry egg noodles. The pho was fine but nothing really stood out. It tasted good enough but did not have that depth or richness that makes you crave pho again. The mi kho dry egg noodles were also pretty mid and honestly lacked flavor. It felt like something was missing and I kept wanting to add more to make it pop. I also got the brown sugar milk tea, which I actually really liked. It was very sweet, which worked for me, but some of my friends thought it was way too sweet for their taste. Definitely something to keep in mind if you prefer lighter drinks. You order at the counter and the food comes out pretty fast, which is nice when it is busy.
We all ordered different dishes, and everything was fantastic. The pho each of us had was absolutely amazing--rich, flavorful broth and generous portions. I really loved the topping bar where you can grab sauces, limes, and anything else you need to customize your soup exactly how you like it. The portions were huge; we all ate a ton and still had enough leftovers for several more meals. I love this place so much--it's honestly some of the best pho I've ever had. I'd even rank it higher than 888 Pan Asian. Highly recommend!
Great spot for a good ole hearty bowl of noodle soup on a cooler fall/winter days. Pho is solid here and they have tripes and tendon which could be hard to find if you end up at a more Americanized VIet restaurant. While their vermicelli is decent, I would not go here if you're looking for authentic vermicelli. The veggies they use is spring mix. While spring mix is a much healthier ( in term of nutrition) it is not what we use for vermicelli. There should be typical lettuce and different types of herbs like mints, etc.. used in this dish. We ordered the combo which comes with 2 proteins and an egg. We chose shrimps and short ribs. Ribs were lean so it was a bit dry and somewhat tough. Shrimp was perfectly charred! I also appreciate their condiments bar. I love lots of lime I my food and even my water so it is extremely nice to be able to self-serve for the extra lime and herb veggies toppings. We also tried their boba tea and it was decent. Green light from me, should you need help making decision to get one or not! :-)
4.5 Stars - A casual Vietnamese spot serving pho, baos, spring rolls, banh mih, rice plates, and vermicelli bowls. There are lots of options to choose from for your Vietnamese food cravings. The prices are great and the portions are HUMONGOUS. They do NOT skimp on the protein. The meat quality is not high but it's on par with what's expected at this price. We got the chicken spring rolls ($7), beef pho ($15), and chicken rice plate ($14). Everything was yummy - nothing mind-blowing, but good. I would like to try something other than the pho next time ($15 for pho with 2 meats). Order at the counter, take a number, and they will bring the food to you. Tables and place are clean. They staff are very friendly too.
Had a hankering for pho with the recent cold front so I decided to try pho please, which was the closest spot that had good reviews. It did not disappoint, as it satisfied my craving and also showed me one of the more reasonable and delicious Bahn mi's I've had in the city. It is a order at the counter and sit down after establishment, and the interior isn't very big and can be busy, but the girl taking my order was pretty helpful with the questions I had, though she was vegan so it wasn't an exact match lol. She put me onto the Thai boba tea however and it was great. Definitely will come back when I'm needing my pho fix again.
Was craving for a quick Viet food fix and it was pretty solid! Pho broth was strong and flavorful, just a bit sweet but it balanced out! The filet steak was soooo good, I highly recommend it to pair with the beef broth. The brisket was a bit dry tho :( I also liked the condiment/veggie station, which included the Togo boxes, utensils etc. The green milk tea was also yummy. Customer service was also awesome and friendly. Highly recommend!
I think my mistake was coming to a Pho place then choosing Bun Bo Hue. The broth lacked the richness and flavor that is the foundation of a good soup! It also had an inch of grease floating on top that I have to spoon off. Bun Bo Hu is normally slightly on the spicy side. This one isn't. They do provide chili oil, that wasnt really spicy. It may be that they found most people in the area didn't like the spiciness of it. Solid 3 stars if you're looking for a quick pho. I'm sure the pho is good as that is what most of the people were eating while I was here. I'd pass on the Bun Bo Hue if I were to ever come back. read more

Met up here with my good friend to catch up. If you're starving and want huge portions, this is your best bet! Their portions are massive! I ordered a vermicelli bowl, but it was basically a platter! My friend ordered a banh mi sandwich and it was the size of a chunky baby's leg! It was a cold day when we went and my food got cold pretty quickly so I don't feel like I had a great experience. I would like to go back and try it again to see if they can give me a reason to give more stars on the food part, but service was pretty good :) read more

The weather has been a bit brisk lately so I've been going to Pho Please for comfort food. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is somewhat serene and therapeutic. My favourites have been the Pho shrimp and Pho wontons but today I tried the Pho wonton works which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a rainy gloomy day today and we wanted to try a new pho shop. I'm so happy we stumbled across this shop on Yelp. The reviews don't lie. We got lemon grass beef Bao Buns. Chefs kiss** I got the chicken & steamed veggie pho. It was so bright and flavorful. I really loved their condiment topping bar. I love extra cilantro and onions. It was nice you can get your own tops and how much or little you want. My husband got the grilled pork Banh Mi with an added fried egg. He was so sad when he finished it. He LOVED it. This place is also just really clean and open and welcoming. I can't wait to come back with my family and try some new stuff! read more

Love everything about this place so much! From the friendly and excellent service to the delicious food. The space has so much natural light with large windows and tall ceilings. The pho is amazing, rich, and has big portions of everything. Today I wanted to try the bao buns and was not disappointed at all. I have been to pho please a few times over the years, but something must have happened recently for the quality to go down this much. I took my partner here, both of us ordering Bahn Mi. His was pork, mine was the lemongrass beef. They were so dry neither of us could finish them... it seemed like there was no Pattae on either of them, or mayo... or anything but veggie and meat. The fried eggrolls were super good, as well as the Boba. The place is always clean and playing good music. Overall I would say 2.5/3 stars - great service, ambiance, and drinks. I got the pho please, which is combo of the meats, tendons, tripe, etc. I felt that the meats were not cooked well enough-I couldn't finish and took it to-go. But, the next day when I drank the broth, I thought it was delicious! I like that they have to-go containers right next to the utensils for you to self-serve. read more
This place was great for a quick meal. The service is fast and friendly. The restaurant is clean. You can get your own fountain drinks, condiments and to go boxes. The banh mi was a foot long. It had great flavor. I just wish the bread was toasted a bit more so it was crunchy. The bread was soft and chewy. read more
This was my first time visiting Pho Please and I had a great experience. The women that was at the register was very helpful in explaining the menu and giving suggestions on what to order. The vegetarian spring rolls were delicious! The portion size was huge for the Pho and it was also great the day after. I will be back again! read more

Was taken aback at first when we visited Pho Please. Their arrangement is to order first at the counter and then sit, which is more "fast casual" than the authentic pho places we're used to in Westminster, CA. But this place tastes authentic. The pho soup tastes good with no heavy msg aftertaste on your tongue and the veggie/condiment bar means you won't have to keep asking for bean sprouts. The rice dish with pork belly was good but not as good as their pho. The pork belly was tasty but the rice portion was a bit small and the veggies included with it were nothing special. Stick with the pho - extra broth is free, additional noodle servings are $2. read more
My friend wasn't feeling well, so she requested pho! I found this spot and was surprised that you pay at the counter first. She got pho, but I wanted to try their mi know dry egg noodles. Our other friend got pho and Vietnamese coffee as well. We grabbed a table and checked out the condiment bar. My noodle dish was delicious and I tried the pho broth, which had a nice flavor. The coffee did take a while to be ready though. It was my friend's first time having it and he loved it. read more

Such a fun pleasing name! Who can go wrong with pho! Set up was a little different than I'm used to but I'm cool with it! You go in and place your order. Then a number will be provided and they'll bring it out to you. Delicious broth, viet ice coffee served in a mason jar. read more

As one of the most popular casual eateries in all of Austin, I can see the immediate appeal with Pho Please. The intimidation factor is near zero with the all-English menu, easy but cheeky name, hipstery staff (#1), and a super clean and modern venue. Now that the guesswork has been taken out, all that is left is the food. This place fills up quickly during lunch. Folks line up in the front, order everything at the counter, and then get served. The place has tables for all party sizes and quite a few things (drinks, soup garnishes, etc) are self serve. The place is well lit with all the natural lighting with plenty of parking and extremely clean bathrooms. Overall, I was satisfied with everything I had here. Their signature pho please ($14) is essentially pho dac biet, with a number of solid cuts of beef with a slightly stormy broth. The pho wonton ($14) threw me for a loop, since I've never seen pork and shrimp wontons (#2) in a pho broth before. The combination was a little unmemorable, but I don't regret ordering it. The banh mi ($8) had some really good bread (so important) but the fixings were a tad skimpy. At least my Vietnamese iced coffee ($5) was good and the egg rolls ($6) were crunchy. The rest of the menu is a mix of noodle / rice / salad dishes with bao buns, some specialty dishes such as vegan pho ($14), bun bo hue ($14), mi kho ($14), and a small section for kids. If I come back, I'm definitely doing the pho challenge ($45) which consists of 2 Ibs of noodles, 1/2 of beef and 2 quarts of broth in 60 min. That sounds like light work compared to other challenges. They recently went through a price hike of +$1-2 across the board and I think their casual ordering setup is ideal since the staff is only lukewarm friendly. If I'm in the area and feeling like a little lunch, this is a guaranteed decent option. ____________ (#1) This could really apply to any place in Austin. Food was great and I really liked the space/ease of ordering etc. You walk in and order at the counter, they'll give you a number and you go sit at a table. Was very easy and quick. They also have a little accoutrements bar where you can get all of toppings for pho. They will come with your meal, but in case you need more or need some to go if you have leftovers. Would like to try a few other things on the menu, but was pleased with the spicy lemongrass bun bo hue (wish it would've been a little spicier, the spicy chili oil it comes with wasn't anything crazy.) the shrimp rolls were so good and refreshing! Probably some of the best shrimp rolls I've had. Looking forward to going back and trying more things! read more
If one's first meal of the year is any indication of how the next 364 days will be, then ours is off to a strong start with a BANGING meal at Pho Please. I was immediately impressed by the restaurant's range of menu options; bun bo hue seems hard to find around Austin and I had never tried mi kho dry egg noodles before. Plus, every pic of their dishes looked amazing. My husband and I were so conflicted about what to get and vowed to come back a second time for whatever we didn't order. After much deliberation, we got the dry noodles and the lemongrass beef grill bowl. Both orders were packed with fresh ingredients, generously portioned, and even came with a side of clear soup. I was v into the balanced flavors and textures of the dry noodles and pleasantly surprised by how much seafood AND chicken was tucked under the noods! Despite the holiday lunch rush, the staff at Pho Please worked so efficiently to make sure tables were turned and orders were out quickly. Given how well-loved the restaurant is, I recommend dropping in outside of peak meal times or getting something to-go. The restaurant is conveniently located near the Oracle campus and just a stones throw from the water/trail. Parking is easy. You must try this place out. Will return for the banh mi! read more
Driving through Austin during lunchtime? Think hard about coming here for a Bahn Mi sandwich. It is like a foot long and easy to handle while you are driving. They have many flavors, the most popular being pork belly and lemongrass beef. Tried the beef with everything on it and i loved the flavors and the freshness of the veggies. They have a condiment station for more cilantro, red onions, and jalapeños if you want. They also serve vermicelli salads and pho. Reminds me of some of the wonderful restaurants i used to enjoy when i lived in Denver. Clean and friendly inside. read more

I came on a Saturday afternoon and ordered their Spicy Lemongrass Bun Bo Hue to try (never having had it here). I asked if it was spicy and the cashier said she was not sure because she doesn't eat spicy but she knows others that eat it and they add more spice to it. I love that each table has a bottle of Purell and they are not empty. +1 The table I was assigned to was taken (a take out order) and the same cashier helped me ask the take out patron to move). +1 The order took a while and I wasn't aware what happened. The same cashier came by and asked if another employee came to tell me that the order's printer was broken so the orders are taking a bit longer. I said ''no one came by to tell me but thank you very much for letting me know as I was starting to wonder." She then offered me a free tea and kept me apprised that she was going to finish cleaning up the table behind me and come back. She came back with the menu of the teas and even asked if I wanted boba and jelly. +2 This employee's name is Jessica and this is top notch communication/service from her. The bun bo hue however was lacking a little flavor compared to Pho Please's sister store Sip Pho. read more

Pho Please meet and exceeded the bar! The broth is flavorful and perfect in the winter weather. We ordered the raw steak &brisket as well as meatball pho. They both were abundant in meat and flavor. Starters were bao pork belly and crab ragoons with a Vietnamese coffee. I recommend it all!! We happened upon this place as Sip Pho was closed but we're happy to I'd Pho Please is a great substitute. read more

Hands down my GO-TO restaurant in Austin. I've been a regular here since 2018 and the food has been consistently good since then. The owners and staff are always incredibly kind and make sure to take care of me. My typical order is the pork and rice grill plate with a side order of pork belly. Also pro tip: the complimentary broth that comes with grill plates can be switched to different types. Normally comes with chicken broth but the spicy lemongrass beef one is so good! read more

I was working in Austin on an ugly rainy day and pho sounded perfect, so I hit up Yelp to find a place to eat. This place had amazing reviews so I figured it would be the perfect place. It's a small storefront location, quick simple ordering system, so no waiting for a server to come take your order. I wasn't the biggest fan of the open topping bar since you never know about flies, having some lids would be better. I picked a table and went to wash my hands and by the time I came out all of my food was already at the table which was concerning since my food and beverage was left unattended for who knows how long. The summer rolls were meh. They weren't awful or great. They just were. The pho, same. It was hot but not as hot (temperature) as I'm used to. The broth didn't have the robust flavor profile I'm used to either. It took away my hunger but didn't leave me with that great satisfaction after a good meal. read more
