Came here on a late night food eat after a drive from San Antonio. We ordered spring rolls with chicken, grilled Korean barbecue short rib, and general Tso chicken. overall the flavor profile of everything was really good. The spring roll was really refreshing, the grilled kbbq was very flavorful, although my only downside to it is that it's really chewy. It's a pretty big establishment with plenty of seating. There's parking out front since it's in a bit of a plaza area. Service is quick, and they bring you everything you need to the table, including the sauces.
This was a great place; it was recommended by a good friend, and I'm glad we visited before leaving Austin. The restaurant features an authentic Asian decor style. As you walk in, it gets busy, so expect a bit of a wait. The service was excellent; the staff made sure to explain the dishes and offered good recommendations. My brother and cousin had the pho with various meats, and they said the flavors were fantastic and everything tasted really good. I had the ginger chicken; it was delicious, with the vegetables and chicken cooked well. I added oil and chili to spice it up, which was great. My sister ordered the orange chicken, and I tried it -- it was good, with a noticeable orange flavor and nicely crispy chicken. Overall, we had a wonderful experience here.

RACIAL INSENSITIVITY, DISRESPECT & CONCERNING TREATMENT OF A BLACK CUSTOMER 1-star review We have been eating at this restaurant since 2017, so this is not a review from someone who has never been here before. We have supported this restaurant for nearly 10 years, which makes this experience even more disappointing. My partner recently visited the restaurant and unfortunately lost his glasses. We contacted the restaurant and asked if the security cameras could be reviewed to help determine where his glasses may have been left. The manager reviewed the surveillance footage and sent us the footage while she was going through it. Her voice can clearly be heard on the recording as she is reviewing the footage. At one point, she says, "no glasses," and then shortly afterward refers to my partner as having a "nappy head." What makes those comments especially disturbing is that the video itself clearly shows my partner. He can be seen walking into the restaurant wearing a green shirt, a hat, and black shorts, with long locs extending down his back. The footage also shows him holding his glasses in his left hand. So when the manager says "no glasses," the actual footage she is reviewing shows otherwise. And the "nappy head" comment is particularly offensive because my partner's locs are not something to mock or insult. His locs are sacred and deeply meaningful to him and are an important part of his identity. There was absolutely no reason for the manager to make that comment. We also noticed that the footage provided did not show the camera angle covering the area where my partner entered, including the area around the front cash register. When we asked about that particular camera, we were told that the cameras had been disconnected and that they had forgotten to plug them back in. That raises a very reasonable question: why were the cameras covering the front register area, where cash is handled, disconnected in the first place? We are not claiming to know why they were disconnected, but this was a legitimate question that deserved an explanation, especially when we were asking for help locating a personal belonging. Unfortunately, the glasses were never recovered. After initially providing the footage, the restaurant did not appear interested in looking into the situation any further or following up with us. There was no meaningful effort to help us locate the glasses, and we were left feeling as though our concern simply did not matter. After nearly 10 years of supporting this restaurant, the way this situation was handled was incredibly disappointing and hurtful. We will NOT be eating here ever again. If you wear locs, value your cultural identity, or simply expect to be treated with dignity and respect, I encourage you to watch the video and make your own decision about whether this is a business you want to support. The video and relevant text messages will be included with this review so that people can see and hear the interaction for themselves. We are not asking anyone to simply take our word for it. We are providing the documentation and allowing people to make their own informed decision.
Stopped by 888 Pan Asian and ordered the combination pho. It was really good with a flavorful broth, generous portions, and plenty of meat. The serving size was definitely worth it because I had leftovers, and it somehow tasted even better reheated the next day. Always a great sign when the quality holds up after taking it home. Solid spot for pho if you're looking for a satisfying meal with big portions. Note to self: make sure to ask for the chili crisp oil on the side next time. It didn't taste nearly as good without it, and they don't automatically include it. Definitely worth requesting because it adds so much more flavor.
We've been wanting to try this spot and wow, amazing! Their portions are HUGE. It took awhile for the food to come, but we were in no rush anyway. It was also the lunch hour. They have a pretty large menu too so I'm sure we'll come back to try more things next time. Service was good. There's also plenty of parking.
First time here Love the name by the way! The food is so tasty and very generous in portions. I had the tom kah and the steam dumplings, my friend had the pho. The sauces are spectacular, I really enjoyed this lunch more than I can say. Everything looked amazing, too bad I was not as hungry but everything I had was delicious! They said their coffee is fantastic, will have to come back to try it.
Triple 8 is great. I've been ordering from here I Since at least 2013. Can't go wrong with their shrimp fried rice. Their combination fried rice is good too, but since I love shrimp, I think that's the best

What a great find. The staff is lovely and the food is solid. The place looks like it's straight out of a movie even. The salt and pepper chicken is solid, the drunken devil is also. The sugar steak appetizer is an acquired taste, but quite well prepared.
A bottle of wine on the house and a giant bowl of delicious, heart-warming pho. 888 Pan Asian treated us like family and I had one of my favorite meals from my visit to Austin! The menu is extensive, but everything our table ordered was delicious, with layers of flavor and giant portions. The owner (I think) came by and gave us this bottle of wine on the house just out of kindness. Truly made our meal memorable and seriously cannot recommend enough!
This is great ATX staple. They have pretty good food all around with very large portions for almost everything. I have gotten takeout and have dinner in as well. I truly enjoy their Tom Kha soup even though they are some kinda chili oil that makes it orange instead of the traditional white. Still pretty tasty though. Prices are decent for the size of the plates. The service is always very friendly and attentive and they seem to know a lot of the regulars. Pretty decor with bright colors. Never too loud even though it's always full.

I usually order my food to-go and it is always prepared quickly and accurately. This visit, we decided to dine in and were seated at a booth. The service was friendly and efficient. They also have expansive operating hours and are open late. We started with the Vietnamese Egg roll appetizer that was served on a bed of veggies with a side salad garnish that had a great flavor. My only comment about this dish is it could have used a sweet chili or sweet and sour dipping sauce. I ordered my usual, the Grilled Pork and Egg roll vermicelli. The portion size of the dishes are very generous. It came with fresh veggies and fish sauce to add on top. The pork and egg rolls are so flavorful. I couldn't finish the dish in one setting. Also ordered the Pho with meatballs that was served with fresh herbs like basil, bean sprouts and jalapeño. Neither of us finished our meals and packed up the leftovers to take home for another meal. Definitely a go-to for Asian cuisine with consistent and high quality menu options.

Decent food at good prices. A lot of variety of Asian cuisine: Thai, Viet, and Chinese mainly. Portions are quite large as well. Pretty full on a Sunday night but we were served promptly and seated right away. Lots of room for seating, even for large parties. I ordered the salt and pepper squid but was a little disappointed. Portions were very large but the squid was mostly batter and very floury. Also ordered Vietnamese egg rolls which were nice and crispy. Maybe I might come back and try pho or a different dish. read more

Super underrated spot for a yummy, comforting asian meal! We walked in on Saturday night (2 people) and had about a 15 minute wait. I got their veggie rolls to start and they were really flavorful and had a great, crispy texture. My boyfriend got the crab rangoons and scrafed them all down! I tend to order fried rice or lo mein so I wanted to get something different for my main. I ended up getting the veggie egg noodle soup with vegetable broth - HUGE portion! You definitely need to add some of the seasonings they bring on the side to bring out the flavor (cilantro, bean sprouts), it was super comforting and filling. read more

All these years, and 888 just keeps delivering. Affordably priced, huge portions, and attentive staff. They have changed the menu over the years, but consistently keep their prices consistent and have something for literally everyone on the menu. We decided to switch it up a bit this time and were incredibly pleased. When I saw the duck taco on the menu, I assumed it was going to be a single (slightly expensive) taco but wanted to give it a try. Only to find out that it was not 1, but three! With the amount of meat, you probably could have stuffed 2 large tacos, but regardless, it was filled with flavor and a nice switch up. Topped off with a beef pad Thai, enough to feed three people. I've been here a few times and always love their Lo Mein--it's seriously one of the best around. This time I dropped in for lunch and tried some different dishes. The chicken satay was awesome--juicy, flavorful, and the sauce was spot on. The spring rolls (both veggie and shrimp) were just okay. Nothing bad, just kind of average. What really stood out was the Panang curry lamb chop--so good! Rich, creamy, and full of flavor. I'd definitely order that again We finished with the mango sticky rice. The rice part was great, but the mango just wasn't ripe or sweet enough, which was a bit of a letdown. Overall, still a favorite spot and worth going back for the hits on the menu. read more

First time back in 10 years & nothing has changed, in a good way! Plenty of seating, and to make things more plentiful, the menu! Typically a massive menu, and multiple cuisines are a red flag but pls don't cave in because everything we had here is delicious. Ordered the Bangkok Wings, Papaya Shrimp Salad (NOT Thai version), Panang Red Curry & Yellow Curry We got the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Good, but felt there could have been a bigger portion. The salad was refreshing and well balanced The curries were not overwhelming but aromatic w/ the herbs and coconut Bangkok wings were super savory Big shoutout to the service as there's plenty of staff to go around and all took turns going around asking if anything was needed Only one tv and it was kinda hidden behind the counter so that was kind of nice for the ambiance. After a few years I have to redo my review. It has definitely changed. The ginger chicken which was my favorite is no longer spicy ( I even requested extra ginger) and as you can see from the picture the difference... they gave me a dish full of onions and peppers and barely any chicken at all. I ain't expect to pay 20+ for onions not to mention most of the sauce was spilled in the bag. read more

I had been about 2 years since we have had food from 888 and even longer since we had dined inside versus getting taken out. We enjoyed it so much on a Sunday that we went a few days later for lunch on a Wednesday. I believe our waiters name was Cesar both times. Super nice and attentive. I'm not sure when they refurbished and spruced up the dining area, but I love the new interior and the beautiful yellow seats. Both visit we started with the pork egg rolls. They are smaller than what you would be used to, but tasty. Grilled Squid as well. It was OK, but wouldn't order it again. For entrees we had the Combination Pad Thai, Tom Kha Gai, Chicken Pad Thai, Mongolian Beef, Combination Sizzling Lemongrass Platter, Combination Fried Rice and Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Everything was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Also the portion sizes are enormous. We left with leftovers for 2 more meals for each plate. The coffee was a little stronger than usual, but not bad. My favorite entree though hands down was the Combination Sizzling Lemongrass Platter. Had a little bit of everything... perfect for me that can never make up her mind. Can't wait to come back :) read more

This place made it on our food list for the weekend trip to Austin because a lot of food trucks we picked were not opened until evening. But glad we stopped in right at opening at 12:00pm After about 20 mins the whole restaurant is packed! Service is great, friendly and restaurant is clean with a nice hint of fabuloso! Red snapper with tamarind sauce hit the spot 7/10 if it was a tad bit less sweeten I would give this a 10/10 Grilled pork combo 10/10 portion is huge! 888 this restaurant sure has luck! read more

Appreciate this place is open late and the wide variety of Asian food options. However cant help but feel the food we ordered was just OK. The service was fast and very nice, and their chilli oil on the tables is really good- not the typical brand. But the Pho was lacking flavor and the papaya salad was under dressed. I also wasn't a fan of their fish sauce. If I could give this place 3.5 stars I would, but feel it doesn't hold up to the quality of asian food you can get elsewhere in Austin. Would be great for late night though! read more

This place made is very disappointing experience on Easter. I was first and last time. I was excited for my order was taken, but after waiting 41 minutes, my food never came.I watched multiple larger groups from different races who arrived after me get their food while I was completely overlooked. No updates, no check-ins.It honestly made me feel like I was being treated differently. I see they look at me multiple times and I ended up leaving without eating and the management wouldn't say they're wrong for what they done. I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more
