The soup itself was really creamy and good, with a slight Malaysian curry flavor. The noodles themselves were thin egg noodles that were slightly soggy but it also came topped with fried crunchy noodles, which provided the crisp. The spice paired well with a creamy Thai iced tea! Good thing they put the Andaman Seafood in a plastic bag, because it spilled and was messy to take out. When we picked up our food, the staff asked if we wanted any utensils or sauce which was nice Chu-Chi Salmon ($22): Not a lot of curry, which was a letdown. The salmon itself was a generous portion but didn't taste like anything special. I did like the carrot slices though. The salmon came with rice so I chose brown rice but it turned out to be purple rice. Son in Law Eggs ($9): Comes with 6 fried egg halves. The tamarind sauce and toppings were great, but I didn't like whatever the outer shell around the egg was. Andaman Seafood ($22): Cane with rice, so we got steamed white rice. Best affordable Thai delivery in central Austin. I've pretty much have ordered every Thai food within a 5 miles radius of me, and they are consistently better than everyone that has the same price point. I will say that I am a bit of a pepper head so spice is an important factor to me, and Mai Thai are the only ones who have come close to brutalizing me in the best way possible. Pad Thai, Tom Yum, and Num Tok- Spice level 5 are my go-to's. It's excellent even this time with the chicken. The Thai food here is solid. I think there are better Thai places in Austin but given there's a dearth of Asian food in Downtown, mai Thai is a great option. There is metered street parking and a parking garage down the street. We walked over from a hotel close by. The interior had lower lighting, trivia and videos playing on the tv. Probably one best I've ever had. I was surprised when I asked for crispy wonton that they didn't have any. Not sure if they didn't have any because they do it at all or they just were out.
