If my rating was just for the food itself it would be 5 stars but we had a mixed experience with Tigers Den. We were just in town for the weekend and meandering up and down Congress before a show later that night at Emo's and my brother and his wife found this spot. The menu looked good so we decided it'd be a good place for lunch. As we walked up we were kind of confused because we saw the sandwich board sign advertising the food but just saw a bar blasting (and I mean BLASTING) music so loud at 4 in the afternoon that we thought we were in the wrong place. Once we realized that Tigers Den is inside the White Tiger bar we went in to look over the menu again and saw some of the dishes coming out which looked promising but the noise was just too much to deal with even for me who usually has no problem with loud settings. We were about to leave but then saw that they have a patio and so we made our way out back hoping that it'd be more comfortable but they had a live band playing (also pretty loud but a bit more tolerable) and all the tables were full with people who were in full-on Saturday party mode already so we came to the decision to just grab a slice of pizza and maybe try and stop by again later. After the show later that night we were hungry and saw that Tigers Den was open late so we thought we would try again even though we knew the place would probably be even more popping. Like we predicted the actual bar was still on full blast but we were pleasantly surprised to find the back patio was a lot more chill as the last band of the night were wrapping up their set. They also had a great heating system installed that made sitting in the partially open air very comfortable on that chilly night. We ordered using the QR code and the food was ready pretty quickly. Unfortunately a couple of the items we were interested in had already sold out for the night but everything we were able to order was really good. The charred edamame were the most delicious form of that simple dish any of us have ever had. The only dumplings still available were the pomegranate ones but these were really good and came with a very tasty dipping sauce. My sister-in-law ordered the drunken noodles and she enjoyed them but in the end the shared appetizers were the standouts. We got the crab rangoons too and they were also a bit of an elevated take with a great dip. I had minimal interaction with staff since we I just ordered food but they seemed nice from the little I did. If I lived in Austin I would have no qualms about ordering from Tigers Den again. Would also be interested to see if the vibe at White Tiger is always so kicked up to 11 or if that's just on the weekends. read more

The food may be heavenly, but I'll never know, because the ordering process was hell. I was right there in the bar/restaurant, but I couldn't order from a person (or even a terminal); no, I had to order online. So I went to their website and clicked on the link for online ordering. It took me to a defunct, poorly loading page that said they were closed. Then I tried using the QR code displayed on their menu. That took me to a different page, on Toast. I wanted to order some of their dumplings, but 3/4 of them were marked as unavailable, so I ordered lo mein instead. When I tried to pay, it took my name, then froze. I tried to sign in to my Toast account, which meant getting a code sent to my phone But when I entered the code, the page froze again. At that point, I was done. Never again! read more

TL;DR: I did not expect the food to be SO GOOD, but WOW, I WILL BE COMING BACK! ((Reposted from my White Tiger review)) Food: + Boneless Chicken Karaage ($15) was well worth the price! The outside is so nice and crispy, while the meat inside stays tender. + Chicken Sando ($14) was interesting -- not necessarily one I would order again but not bad. The kimchi pairing with the sweeter sauce and chicken just was not my favorite. + Drunken Noodles ($15) was also delicious and probably my favorite dish of the three. The portion size is perfect for sharing, although I do wish there was a bit more meat. The noodles had a GREAT texture -- nice chewiness for sure. Seriously wonderfully done, I could've shed a tear at how much I enjoyed this meal. Service: Great for anyone with social anxiety, you can just read the physical menu or online version and then use Apple Pay on your phone. Super easy experience. Ambiance: Since White Tiger is also a bar, it is understandably loud. Just keep in mind it will be difficult to have a full-on conversation while eating though. Otherwise, it's a lovely place on SoCo. There is an outdoor patio in the back with live music. read more

Small kitchen in the White Tiger. Ya gotta have a different option to order food. Maybe a tablet or something it took us 10+ mins to try and get our order in, with wifi. It's a QR code that takes you to an order website. Two of us with two different cell services had trouble almost left because of not getting it to work. The chicken wings were cooked well but quite overdosed for my liking (recommend sauce on the side). The pork belly egg rolls were quite overcooked. The meat was more like a pulled pork rather than what you think pork belly fatty meat is. Kimchi not quite authentic and had a powdery type feel to it. I left 4 stars but this visit was more like 3.5. read more

Tiger's Den is White Tiger but you can order food through the QR code or near the back. The service was pretty quick and we got our food within 20 minutes. The back door leads to a very nice patio area and I enjoyed having my food out there. We ordered the Yuzu Smash Burger and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich (with mandarin orange miso dill kimchi), both at $15. The buns were a little oily but I thought both burgers were extremely tasty. Both took inspiration from Asian cuisine and were very unique. I would definitely have them again. read more

My wings had hair in them. And beyond that they were also the worst wings I've ever had. They were undercooked rubbery, and all completely wet like sopping. I don't mean a crispy wing with sauce on it I mean a soggy nasty wing. The sauce had no flavor no kick. It tasted like wings that you had left in a bucket of water for five days. Tigers Den is inside of White Tiger. I was walking down S Congress with my wife when she saw a sign on the sidewalk for Chicken Katsu, so we had to try it. To order you have to scan the QR code at the bar or tabletops and order from your phone. The Chicken Katsu and Tempura Onion Rings were very good, while the Lotus Root chips were ok. Overall food and presentation were much better than we expected. Hidden gem. read more

This restaurant is inside a bar location. You have to order via QR code on the menu. The bartender working this afternoon was not friendly at all. You can tell she could care less about the food portion of the bar and had a sour attitude when we asked questions about how to order. Why would we even want to stay and order with such an unwelcoming environment. Would try again at a different location. Not sure why anyone would want to even come to the bar with such an unwelcoming staff member. read more
