    #60 Fried Rice
    Keisha B.

Fried rice may sound simple but tasted like something I haven't had before; delicious. Dish was filling and paired it with some bao buns and brussel sprouts to share. Although the sprouts had a good flavor they were a little over sauced as you couldn't taste the sprouts nor the crisp. Drinks were good and atmosphere was great. Indoor seating is more cozy but compliments the vibe of a smaller restaurant. Server was great and she offered great menu recommendations when we couldn't decide. Would recommend.

What should had been a 4.5* meal ended as a 3*, but I'll get to that at the end. The meal itself was great... my group shared 2 orders of the pork belly buns, the kimchi arancini balls, the dan dan noodles, and the ram don special. We enjoyed all of the dishes and were surprisingly full from just this (there were 3 of us). The cost of the food itself was pretty good at just under $60 for those 5 dishes before tax and tip. I wasn't drinking but my friends had a few cocktails. Overall service was really good except for a couple issues where they forgot or brought the wrong drink. I normally wouldn't even mention it but it plays to the part that pissed us off. We were paying with inKind and were only given a check number to settle our check with. We paid it and figured we'd split it later on our own time. Well when I checked the emails, nothing added up when I was doing the math. After trying to figure out where I was going wrong, I discovered there's a hidden 5% service fee at The Peached Tortilla. A 5% service charge is annoying enough and we actively avoid restaurants that do this, but nothing on the inKind screen or in my email even mentions this fee. It's just hidden in the taxes/fees. We tipped very generously not knowing this fee existed and feel pretty ripped off, honestly, not to mention having my time wasted trying to figure out why I couldn't split the check like a normal person. I believe the service charge might be a line item on a physical check, but we weren't given one, and none of our servers conveniently mentioned it on our ~$200 check that we tipped over 20% on. I'm so annoyed writing this review that maybe I should even change it to a 2* review. I hope it was worth it to management to lose what was a pretty happy group who were leaving the restaurants already making plans to return.

We came here for brunch and were pleasantly surprised to find there was no wait and the staff were all super friendly and attentive. We ordered the Katsu Chicken Sandwich and the Char Siu Bowl, and both dishes were absolutely delicious! Both dishes were a perfect balance of textures and flavors, and very unique. We'll definitely be coming back again.

Doordashed this for my first dinner in Austin!! We love a good asian/mexican fusion place. Everything came still hot, presentation of the food was great, flavors were YUM! I got: - The Taco Trio (Brisket, Banh Mi, Cauliflower): YUM! My faves were the Banh Mi and Brisket. The cauliflower was also good, but I probably wouldnt get it again. Great veg option tho! 3 sauces on the side for an array of flavorrr. - Kimchi Arancini Balls: My only note was that it only came with 5!!! Which for me by myself was more than enough but not quite "shareable" because I can eat the whole thing on my own. Whatever the orange sauce is, like a sriracha mayo, is delish!!!! Again for me doordashing this, it was solid.

I came here years ago and thought it was only ok (too salty). But I came again recently and really enjoyed things. Forgot to take a pic, but we had the brisket and banh mi tacos. At $16 for 3, they weren't badly priced. Both tasted great but I especially like the banh mi pork belly one. The meat was so so good, and makes me think that I really should get the pork belly bao buns next time. The brisket taco was good, but also this is Austin, and we have lots of great brisket here. So this one felt less special/different. The asian pear and miso salad -- this was a surprisingly large portion size (big pile of leaves arranged on the side of the plate). But the name ultimately promised more flavor than I got. The pear wasn't as bright and sweet as I would've liked. The miso dressing was not as punchy and felt even maybe a little watered. Umami chicken wings were umami indeed and definitely recommend. The wings were both drum and flats together. Our serving came with three FYI. They were on the small side but tasty. Loooooved the Hangar Steak Ssam! And thought it was a decent serving for the price. The meat was perfectly medium rare, great ssam flavor, punchy kimchi, and butter lettuce to make some great wraps. Cocktails were great here; service excellent. Note: I was a little annoyed by the $25 cancellation charge for reservations (if canceling within 24 hrs). We got there and realized that we absolutely did not have to make a reservation that night (Sunday). Oh, and the other big bonus is that they are on the in-kind app, so that can end up saving you a lot of money.

Servers were nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I liked that the vegan options were clearly noted, and the cauliflower tacos were tasty! Parking was tight during happy hour, but they do have a dedicated lot.

First time coming to the Burnet location and I'm happy there was parking in the back of the restaurant. Parking really makes or break if I go to certain places because I get stressed out. We went right before the lunch crowd came and they had their brunch menu. We got the Brisket Hash and Char Siu Breakfast Bowl. I tried a piece of the Char Siu and it wasn't too bad. It looked pretty filling and pretty decent size for the price. I got the Brisket Hash and I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. I don't typically eat brisket, but this one was good. Not too chewy for me, the flavors weren't too strong. I barely tasted the Kimchi from the corn. So my critique would be to make the flavors stronger. I did bite into the peppers and those were hot. It didn't seem hot at first but then the heat kept building.

Everything was delicious, unique flavors. We had kimchi arancini, bacon jam fries, tacos, pork belly. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes

I made a reservation at opening on a Saturday morning, but it was unnecessary since there were many diners that early. The server was so sweet and was okay with me waiting for my friend to arrive before I ordered. We both got a char siu rice bowl. The char siu was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The herbs have the bowl a nice balance between marinated meat and fresh, aromatic vegetables. The restaurant was clean and decorated so cutely. There was plenty of parking in the lot behind the building. I would recommend this establishment if you are looking for Asian food in a bright, welcoming environment.

Rating: 3.6/5 [Postmates delivery] The Peached Tortilla is the sister restaurant of Bar Peached. They serve a variety of Asian-inspired dishes. Dan Dan Noodles ($17.25) + 45-Minute Egg ($2): Five-spice pork, chili peanut sauce, cucumbers (spicy). The flavors weren't as strong as I'd like and felt muted. I was expecting a rich, nutty, and spicy profile, but it didn't shine through. They also used thick flat noodles instead of thin ones, which didn't soak up the flavor well. I barely noticed the ground pork until halfway through. However, the dish does grow on you as you eat. Lush Pork Belly Bowl ($18.40) + Extra Chinese BBQ Sauce ($0.50): Five-spice pork belly, house kimchi, pickled daikon carrots, 45-minute egg, jasmine rice. Pretty disappointing. They served three large blocks of pork belly, but they were dry and didn't fully absorb the five-spice flavor. You definitely need to dip them in the Chinese BBQ sauce. The egg was delicious but didn't taste much different from a poached egg. Peach Sichuan Brussels ($11.50): Sichuan peppercorn peach glaze, fried shallots, sesame (vegan). This was my favorite of the four dishes. The Brussels sprouts were a bit soggy when they arrived, but they were perfect after I air-fried them. The peach Sichuan flavor was well-balanced and not overpowering. Umami Chicken Wings ($12.65): Fish sauce vinaigrette, herbs, shallots (gluten-free). The chicken wings didn't absorb the fish sauce vinaigrette, so they lacked umami. I'm also not a fan of eating whole chicken wings since their shape makes them a bit difficult to eat.

The Peached Tortilla is a casual eatery with Asian Tex-Mex fusion food. I got the Taco Tray that comes with all 6 tacos on the Taco Tuesday menu. You can choose either flour or corn tortillas. The Asian inspired tacos like the Banh Mi and Chinese BBQ Pork tacos are really unique and my favorite ones. Both are made with braised pork belly and topped with sweet tangy slaw. Delicious, tender, and juicy! The others were amazing too - BBQ Brisket, Cauliflower, Kalua Pork, and Rotating Taco. It looks fun and pretty displayed all together with vibrant colors. I loved that they had the option to try all 6 tacos. I always have trouble deciding which flavors to get and I didn't have to limit myself here. It was great to share with another person. The Taco Tray is also cheaper than getting each taco individually. They had a bright and casual environment. It was pretty packed in the evening, but they let us wait at the bar while looking at the menu. They seated us at a table after a few minutes. We were able to order and get our food pretty quick after that. Our server was super friendly and socialized with us. They were attentive and checked on us often. There is some parking in the back, but it is hard to get to. We just found parking a few blocks over and walked back for ease. They also have outdoor seating on a covered patio in the front. Would definitely recommend coming on a Tuesday to try all of their taco options!

The Peached Tortilla is a great spot for Asian fusion cuisine with daily social hour, weeknight specials, and weekend brunch offerings! You're going to get delicious and unique food, fantastic service, and you won't break the bank! FAST FACTS: * Parking - a few spots in the front and back of the restaurant, additional spots next door (old glass store), and street parking available nearby * Reservations - available online through OpenTable * Online ordering - available online through ToastTab * Daily social hour - food and drink deals from 5:00 - 6:30 pm * Weeknight deals - Steak & Frites Tuesday, Fried Chicken & Whiskey Wednesday, & Ramen Thursday * Saturday & Sunday brunch - from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm * Closed on Mondays * Kids eat free on Sundays! I arrived at 7:45 for a 8:00 pm reservation and was seated right away. SERVICE - All the workers were fantastic! The hostess was great, Eli brought us water as soon as we got seated, and our server Angelina was so personable and took great care of us from start to finish! The manager even brought out a complimentary dessert and hand written birthday card as we were celebrating a birthday. Very impressive! PRICING - The total was $81.19 after tax ($6.19) but before tip for two orders of pork belly buns ($11 each), two Malaysian Laksa Bowls ($17 each), and a JapaJam burger ($15). A complimentary dessert was included for celebrating a birthday. It's a great deal considering the serving size and quality of ingredients! PORK BELLY BUNS (9/10) - These are a MUST order every time I come! You get 2 boa buns with thick cut pork belly, cucumber, green onions, and Chinese BBQ sauce. This is a perfect appetizer but you might want to consider getting your own order because they are THAT GOOD! MALAYSIAN LAKSA BOWL (10/10) - PHENOMENAL! The curry seafood broth is on the thicker side and it comes jam packed with 4 shrimp (cooked perfectly), noodles, fresh herbs, bean sprouts, and a 45 minute egg. It's deceptively filling but you want to keep eating it because it's so incredibly flavorful! I'd order this again! JAPAJAM BURGER (8/10) - An overall great burger! The burger was cooked perfectly, the bun was toasted well, and the tomato jam and Chinese BBQ sauce adds a nice sweetness. I love a fried egg on the burger and it didn't make it too messy. The pepper jack cheese and tempura onion strings got a little lost flavor-wise but were still tasty. The fries on the side were good but not the crispiest. You do get to pick a dipping sauce... the sriracha aioli was very good. I'd order this again because you can't beat the $15 price. ASIAN MOVIE NIGHT (8/10) - This was a complimentary dessert for celebrating a birthday. The popcorn ice cream is a custom recipe that The Peached Tortilla actually shared with Amy's Ice Creams and is one of the creamiest ice creams I have ever had! The Asian caramel on top was the highlight... I wish there was more of it! The rice puffs added some texture but that was about it. I'd order this again! This was my fifth time at The Peached Tortilla and every visit has been a great experience and continues to impress me with the great service and delicious flavors. I definitely need to come back to try their weekend brunch offerings! I'd recommend The Peached Tortilla for anyone who enjoys fusion cuisine and wants some more unique offerings at an affordable price. I'm not a drinker but I know they have great cocktail options as well.

I did think it was interesting that they also operate as a Chinese restaurant, but honestly, it's probably a smart move given the area. More ways to bring people in the door. The staff were incredibly friendly. It genuinely felt like being back in the Philippines. They were also super accommodating with our toddler, which always earns bonus points from me. We ordered the pansit, sizzling sisig, and sizzling chicken BBQ and all three were delicious. The pansit was savory and loaded with veggies and shrimp. The sisig was nicely peppery with just the right amount of spice. The sizzling chicken BBQ was such a great twist on the classic -- I might actually prefer it this way over skewers. It was easier to eat and came with extra sauce to drizzle over rice. Even though we were stuffed and already had to-go boxes, we couldn't skip halo-halo. It was the perfect ending -- refreshing, sweet, and exactly what we needed. If I lived here, I'd honestly be a regular. Chef Ling is a brilliant and personable chef who treats her chefs and staff like family. Several different chefs prepared each course, and the presentation was well beyond what we expected, both visually stunning and thoughtfully composed. From the moment we walked into Ling Kitchen, the energy felt warm and intentional. The space is intimate without feeling cramped, and you immediately sense that you are about to be part of something special rather than just another dinner reservation. Chef Ling personally welcomed guests, shared the story behind the menu, and checked in throughout the evening in a way that felt genuine and never forced. Each course built on the last, with a clear progression of flavors and textures. The fish was impeccably fresh, the knife work precise, and the seasoning balanced to highlight the natural ingredients rather than overpower them. You could see the coordination among the team as different chefs stepped forward to prepare and present their dishes. It truly felt collaborative, like a small culinary orchestra. What stood out most was the creativity. Traditional techniques were honored, but there were subtle twists and unexpected combinations that kept us curious and engaged. Every plate was composed like art. The pacing was perfect, allowing time to savor each bite and appreciate the craftsmanship. Beyond the food, the hospitality elevated the entire experience. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and clearly proud to be part of the team. That family atmosphere Chef Ling fosters is palpable and makes the evening feel personal. If you are in Austin and looking for a memorable omakase that rivals experiences in much larger food cities, Ling Kitchen is a must. This is not just dinner, it is a curated, immersive experience. We will absolutely be back. Thank you Ling!!! You are truly one of a kind!

I saved Ling Kitchen for a recent visit to Austin, reuniting with my college roommate. She has been before; I hadn't, but we both enjoy memorable meals and she said this was sure to please; it did not disappoint. I eat at fine dining around the world and I appreciate that Ling Kitchen is truly trying to carve their own path, not trying to fit a specific mold. It was refreshing and so welcome. You enter through the back of the kitchen (where the private parking lot is) and are taken to a prep area where you'll select drinks and have opening bites. You get a selection of champagne or a non-alcoholic option to start and get your first taste of the food (charcuterie on a rice cracker, yum). They have a decent wine and sake menu, but everything is by the bottle, so beware if you're a light drinker. We opted for a bottle of sake that was just the right amount for two to share for a 3-hour meal. The actual meal takes place in the kitchen itself, alongside the prep of the chefs working it. It's such a unique ambiance and different to the "open kitchen" setup I have done for other fine dining; you are truly in between the cold storage, the duck aging for future diners, etc. The low light & ambiance is beautifully arranged for a nice meal and they put all the special touches - down to LED camera lights for each diner so you can use to take photos of your food better! You can only make reservations in 2's or 4's for this spot and the table arrangement is really for diners to share a meal together. The food itself is extremely beautiful and so filling! I think this was the first time at a fine dining restaurant I literally could not finish all the food and had to make a few smart choices towards the end to have room to try it all! I think some dishes stood out more than others (the XO lobster tail, every single dessert, an eggplant dish they made to sub for the aged duck for me, and the king salmon with curry lahksa), and a few were aesthetically pleasing but otherwise lacked strong flavor (the dumplings, the steamed egg, a pan seared halibut that was a sub for wagyu). I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and more so enjoyed the storytelling and thoughtfulness of each dish and the overall service & hospitality experience. Chef Ling Qi Wu is introduces several dishes and is available to chat with guests throughout the meal. She noted the taro dish as one of her first dim sum items she had ever made and the salmon curry lakhsa as a home comfort dish for her. The desserts were themed around the four seasons - just so much thought put into the whole experience! They had the entire table introduce themselves and share what brought them there halfway through the meal and gave us the opportunity to walk around the kitchen, talk to chefs, try some elements used in later dishes like the fresh honey used in our desserts. They gave us a polaroid, branded chopsticks and a clean menu to commemorate the experience. Ling Kitchen is truly more than a fancy restaurant; it's a whole memorable dining experience, and I hope to return for a future special visit one day!
