This was an expensive brunch, and totally aware this comes from Fonda San Miguel. Starting out parking space is a bit limited. You walk in and the ambiance is quite warm and welcoming. While I've never been to Mexico City it felt like was transported there. Food took a while, pretty confident our waiter forgot to put in our order. Service wasn't the most attentive. The food was good (some better than others). The biscuit was outstanding, but it was hard to justify 2 biscuits at $16. The flavor was rich with the mole infused in the biscuits.l was great. The guac and salsa were good, the chicharrones had the gamey pork taste. I would have preferred the corn chips they gave with the chilaquiles. The chilaquiles were good but I didn't think there was anything that made it stand out. Overall it was okay, I wasn't amazed.

Another great meal! Started with a cold latte. Yum! Biscuits and chicarones with salsa and fresh guacamole with a perfect onion and slightly spicy finish. I had an egg dish that was superb and my guest had tacos. Home made ice cream for desert. Perfect setting on the covered patio. Food presentation gets an A+. Glasses, cups, plates, and table set up is perfect. All servers and staff were professional, yet friendly. Big shout out to Sergio (see photo). Truly exceptional server, with a winning personality, and a desire to make the dining experience memorable. Thanks Sergio! I love this restaurant! This is the best place for a delicious Spanish breakfast in Austin. It was so good, we came back for brunch again the next day. I loved the flautas as a savory starter. The fruta con crema was suprisingly very pleasant, one of the best I've ever had. You can't go wrong with anything from their bakery, especially the concha or chocolate cookie with roasted marshmallow. Pollo pibil was a tasty spicy chicken, we were very happy and full after our meal. Tzintzuntzan is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin.

I really wanted to give Tzin 5 stars, but they were out of a few items that we wanted to order despite our brunch reservation being at noon. We were seated inside which was nice since it was a bit humid and started raining later, but also a bit loud. Other than them being out of key items, we really like our food and our waitress, Grace, was really nice, helpful, and upbeat! I'm sure she felt bad having to tell us they were out of these items: mole biscuits, mole negro pinguino, and almost half of the desert items. She also mentioned the fruit & yogurt bowl would have all the berries but there were only blueberries and strawberries (no blackberries, raspberries). We all enjoyed the food and drinks we ordered! We walked outside to check out the patio and take some fun photos. I hope to have an opportunity to eat here again and try some of the items they were out of and sit on the patio!

Yum! Great food and vibes. I knew I had to check out the sister restaurant to Fonda San Miguel, which I also love. I felt like a tourist-you won't find a space like this anywhere else in Austin! It made me want to go on vacation. The sculpture and fountains are stunning and even the restrooms are unique and I enjoyed taking lots of pictures. This is a breakfast/brunch spot. There aren't too many entrees on the menu but I think it's a great place to take vegetarians/vegans. The meals are delicious but not heavy. They also sell pastries-gotta try them the next time I go! I got chilaquiles with salsa verde. I've had this multiple times in Mexico and they did a great job here. The acidity of the salsa is perfect and I finished the whole plate! Husband got the huevos motuleños and he loved it as well. Friend got the fruta con crema and he said the fruits were really fresh! We then got the vanilla bean ice cream as dessert to finish the meal. It was a great experience! I recommend making a reservation as it's a relatively new restaurant and can be quite packed. They have parking on site!

I met friends here for late lunch on Friday. First, the restaurant is beautiful, inside and out. Very modern and filled with wonderful art. I wanted to stroll around and view each piece, like it was an art gallery (but that might have been annoying to the other diners). The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Our reservation was at 1, and many of the botanas/starters and pastries were no longer available. Just fyi. I ordered the Huevos Motulenos, which was delicious. I honestly have never seen such perfectly fried eggs before! Gorgeous and delicious! Can't wait to return so I can try other items on the menu; and maybe some starters and/or pastries. Small parking lot, but overflow parking is available right next door at Fonda San Miguel. Reservations recommended.

Had a reservation for 10am on Saturday. We sat for a full 20 minutes without water and were not acknowledged by any wait staff. We left and went down the street for breakfast. Posting menu so you can see the prices charged. Can't post food because we didn't have any. Waste of my time.

I can't believe Fonda San Miguel has opened a new sister restaurant next to it, and we def have to try it! The restaurant outside and inside are really elevated, looks really modern and gives me a traditional Mexican restaurant vibe at the same time. The decorations are very unique, unlike anything I have ever seen. We sat inside and we have a nice view of the outdoor sitting & fountains. Food are amazing, we ordered the Huevos Motulenños and Chilaquiles verde, both tasted delicious! The only complain is that the plate and portion were a bit too small, we were still hungry by the end of it. The roasted vanilla bean ice cream was pretty good as well, def worth a try if you are up for dessert. Service is pretty fast, will return and love the dining experience!

New brunch spot alert! Austin is a big brunch town, and even though I'm not the biggest brunch-goer, I do love trying a new spot that isn't a traditional American-style brunch. Had reservation for 2 for a noon on a Saturday (the restaurant reservations were booked pretty far ahead, but this time slot was randomly open). They were unfortunately out of a few of their popular items (croissant, empanada, biscuits) so I will have to try those out some other time. Ended up ordering: Tacos El Patito - these were some FAT flautas. I quite enjoyed these, very crispy, the filling was quite potato-ey, kind of reminding me of the potato/cheese breakfast tacos at Tacodeli - like a creamy cheesy mash. Those are sometimes controversial, but I liked this style of mashed potato. The salsa below and the slaw on top added some nice freshness and a bit of spice which really leveled up the flautas. Bistec con Huevos - I'm not one to normally order a steak and eggs because it's a very heavy brunch item and it often feels too basic. This take on steak and eggs was nice because the chimichurri sauce really popped in flavor. It came with some tortillas so I made a corn taco as well with it. The hash brown was like one very crispy block fry, it was an upscale rendition, but I'm not sure if I liked it better than classic hash browns. The ambiance here is great, the restaurant is very spacious with large indoor and outdoor spaces. There is a ton of natural lighting indoors, which doesn't make it feel like you're sitting in a restaurant. Would come here just for the vibes. My only knock was that everything on the menu reads very heavy. There was a granola fruit bowl you can order but there wasn't enough of a reprieve from heavy fried, cheesy, meaty items. May need to try more of the menu items next time but like a lot of brunch spots, you might need a nap afterwards.

I was shocked that my friend and I were able to walk into Tzintzuntzan without a reservation around 2PM on a Saturday, but there were actually quite a lot of empty tables. While most of the pastries in the pastry case were sold, we still got to try a cookie. This is the sister restaurant/daytime version of Fonda San Miguel, so I believe they are owned by the same people who own FSM. It's a great concept to have FSM be the evening restaurant and TTT be the daytime brunch spot. Service was really great, and I thought food was pretty good! Standard brunch prices for Austin, and there aren't a ton of standout options but in general, I love their patio seating but I can tell it will get really hot when it's summertime because there's really no shade. Overall, fun experience and I love that it's so close to my apartment!

    Enfrijoladas, chilaquiles, huevo con machaca
    Estefanía D.

I'd been wanting to try this place since I heard about it and was finally able to stop by with my parents. We went on a Friday morning and timing was ideal as there were no weekend crowds. There was a relaxed vibe and genuinely friendly staff. We ordered the enfrijoladas, huevo con machaca, and chilaquiles with salsa roja. We all agreed that the enfrijoladas were the most flavorful of the three. On the drinks side, the americano was strong and the café de olla was delicious (if maybe a bit sweeter than expected, so keep that in mind). We finished off with a concha and marranito - two of my favorite pan dulces. The marranito was delicious (and surprising because they use mole poblano!) but the concha de chocolate absolutely stole the show. I've had a lot of conchas in my life but this one was pillowy soft and the best one I've ever had. I loved it and ordered a vanilla one to go. Will definitely be back just for the pan dulce! Edited to add: I tried the vanilla concha after writing this review and it was okay. Flavor wasn't as nice as the chocolate one

$38 Bistec con Huevos. 6oz bavette was delicious. The hash browns under the egg was very crispy, a tad salty.
    June L.

The best dish we had was the Bistec con Huevos. The 6oz Bavette was cooked perfectly. The hash browns were a bit saltier than I would have preferred, but very crispy and still good. We also had the huevos rancheros which was good, but not extraordinary. The americano and decaf cortado with oat milk were both good. Sadly, the chocolate concha was just ok. The dough was a bit tough and didn't have the soft pillowy-ness that makes for a truly delicious and memorable concha. Too bad. Driving to San Antonio is a much farther trip, but there's nothing in Austin that can beat a La Panaderia concha of any flavor. The restaurant buildout is beautiful, but the bathrooms... ugh. No one wants to be on full view of the patio dining area when coming out of the stall to wash hands. And worse; the table right next to the sinks gets to see everyone walk right past them to use the toilets and wash hands. A partial wall would be nice. And shift tables to make a path to the restroom.

Look for this and you've arrived

Was there on a Saturday about 9:30am to grab a coffee~ fortunately they offer a walk up window as they were quite busy. My cappuccino was quite good, strong but not bitter, $6 (base price) not outrageous imo plus I did add one pump of vanilla (which was extra. Very stylish inside and the generous outdoor patio area was full as was an inside side dining area full of diners. The few dishes I saw coming out looked good and most of the plates I saw at the tables were definitely part of the "clean the plate club" I have a pic of the menu in the photos you most likely (as I did) need to look up some of the mentioned ingredients, or ask your server This type of breakfast isn't for everyone although they do offer a bacon & eggs not quite traditional but offered~definitely a Spanish feel and if you have been to Fonda de Miquel you'll understand. Based on a today I would recommend making a reservation.

For our entrées, we had Brian's Alambre Plate, the Chicken Mole, and the Line Cook's Snack Plate. Brian's Alambre Plate combines sirloin, pork pastor, house-made chorizo, and bacon with peppers, onions, and melted Jack cheese. It was good and certainly offers plenty of variety and flavor. For my personal taste, though, if I am primarily craving meat, I prefer Eldorado's Carne Guisada. There is nothing wrong with the Alambre, I just think the Carne Guisada is the stronger choice for me. The Chicken Mole is my wife's favorite, and unfortunately it is only offered as a special late on Thursdays. The house-made mole has a rich, distinctive flavor that works very well with the chicken, and it is easy to understand why she looks forward to it. The Line Cook's Snack Plate was also a great combination with two flautas, a choice of Chicken Caldo or Texas Red, Eldorado rice, and guacamole salad. It is a nice option when you want a little bit of several things rather than one large entrée. Overall, another very enjoyable meal at Eldorado Cafe. Somehow I'd never been despite living so close, so I was excited to finally check it off my list. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and their famous foyer is just as pretty in person as everyone says. I came with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar first while waiting, but I definitely recommend making reservations because this place is BUSY, even on a weeknight. Parking can also be a bit of a struggle since they have a pretty small lot. I had to make a few laps before I finally found a spot, so definitely give yourself a little extra time. They do offer valet, and I believe you may also be able to park in the lot next door after hours since it's their sister restaurant, but don't quote me on that haha. Their margaritas are also really good and definitely on the stronger side, so they were a great way to start the meal. The staff here was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the night. They even walked us to our table and later showed me where the bathroom was, which I thought was a really nice touch. As for the food, it definitely lives up to the hype. It's on the pricier side, but everything tasted incredibly fresh and was well worth it. We ordered the enchiladas, which were delicious, and the shrimp was probably my favorite part of the meal because it was so fresh and perfectly cooked. I can definitely see why this restaurant has been around for so long and has such a loyal following. It took me way too long to finally come here, but I'll definitely be back. One thing I'm noticing as we do these is that you often write reviews that are genuinely useful--not just "food good/bad." You include things like reservations, parking, what to order, or where to sit. I think we should keep leaning into that because it feels very authentic to your style and makes your reviews stand out.
