Chips and salsa!
Bruce M.

First time here and had an amazing experience. We were seated quickly at the bar so we could have couple cocktails. The bar has soft fun music playing in the background. The bar is fancy and the bartenders know how to create anything. Loved our drinks. When you sit the chips and salsa are a great free touch!!! We will definitely come back and try dinner next time.

Great dinner spot for groups on East 6th. The Verduras tacos are vegan as-is, and very good! The drinks are just okay, but the overall vibe is lively.

Every time we go down to ATX we make it a priority to stop by at Licha's and it never disappoints! The service, food, and ambiance are unbeatable. While Tex-Mex is often confused for true Mexican food, there is no comparison at Licha's! Pulpo con chorizo and the sweet potatoes with goat cheese are delicious authentic dishes. My husband and I brought two other people; my sister, a picky eater was surprised by how much she enjoyed every dish we ordered.

Such a fun, lively spot! I had the Calabacitas quesadillas ( cheesy, fresh, and full of flavor) and paired them with the Chulipin mezcal cocktail, which was smoky, citrusy, and dangerously easy to drink. The patio was buzzing, the music set the mood, and the staff were super friendly.

Chips and Hot Sauces - sauces were hot. Chips tasted like they came from a bag. Best Queso Fundido - it was great. Chorizo was tasty. Patio was popping. Tacos Alambre was a mix bag. Flavor as really good, but meat was over cooked and gristly. The soft corn tortillas and pico de gallo salvaged it.

Amazing chips & dip

Yummy Oaxacan Food with seemingly handmade masa items. The complimentary chips and dip are incredibly unique and delicious. They resemble creamy, spicy salsa aioli dips. Try it--you won't regret it! :) The chicken mole huarache ($15) was both filling and flavorful. The interior is adorned with lots of biblical decor, which is quite interesting. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. Service was prompt! :)

Overall love the Austin outdoor vibe !! As a Denver Native I am biased because we do have some of the best Mexican food (if you don't believe me come out and taste for yourself). Anywho! The meat was tender and flavored well, however there weren't enough tortillas. Our waiter was amazing and accommodated me with my entree. My advice would be to come and try for yourself and support this business as it seems to be a staple in the area!

Chicken mole huarache

The happy hour is so damn good!! 4-7 during the week and drinks and apps are $8! We ordered the Paloma and the Lupita - both delicious but ultimately the Lupita was the favorite - the watermelon tequila is amazing!! We also ordered the cochinita pibil sopecitos, the pastor quesadilla, and the chicken mole huaraches. Our favorites were the quesadilla and the chicken mole huarache - incredible both of them!! We absolutely loved them and had a great time for happy hour. Service was great and food came out quickly, we ate and drank and left in less than an hour! The indoor is very cute - but bring a coat in the winter bc it doesn't seem like their heat was working when we visited and it was a very cold day.

Grilled octopus

Service was good, the ceviche was the best I've ever had... We also had the Birria tacos and the Caesar... Everything was good... The only thing was the small plates of the grilled octopus... It was giving more potato than it was octopus... Pretty pricey small plate for it to be underwhelming but it's a great location. It's a great outdoor seating area and attentive service... My girlfriend say it's the best margarita as well.

This spot is good, not great! Love the margs and the general vibe-- good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Salsas and queso fundido are good. Main course was okay-- a bit blander than I'd expect. The masa is really filling, though the portion looks small. I'd come back for happy hour, but maybe not for dinner again.

Mole Con Pollo
Jennifer N.

Starts off amazing with fresh chips and delicious salsa. Could not get enough of the salsa...I ordered some to go. I normally don't order mole con pollo at a restaurant because it always disappoints but Licha's nailed it! Coming back and staying for a margarita on the patio

Ask the Community - Licha's Cantina

Do they allow dogs?

I believe so; on the outside patio.

Are dogs allowed on their patio?

Yes! I've taken mine before

Do they have any kid-friendly items on the menu?

I really think this menu is pretty upscale and non traditional so there is no real "bottom of the menu" or kids section unless the kids like what is on the menu or are used to eating a variety of Mexican foods.

El Alma - Chips salsa and queso

That rush hour traffic in Austin is lethal. If it starts raining too, oh buddy, what a nightmare…read more Eventually you'll make it to your destination and if it's half as good as El Alma, it'll be a sigh of relief. I've driven by El Alma many times being in the Austin area, but I never went until last Thursday, and after surviving a brief monsoon, I was glad to get a few drinks and eat some good TexMex with my large party just before a wedding. The best way to describe El Alma is that it is TexMex that is Austinified. Everything feels a little more unique and special than your classic TexMex options. I started off with a Mezcal Margarita that put a little hair on my chest and got me going. My group ordered two of their Nachitos, which were these nice nachos. For my main entrée, I got 3 Al Pastor tacos on corn with a side of their rice and beans. Their pastor was served with pineapples, onions, and cilantro with limes on the side. They were great and I immediately crushed them all. I thought their rice and beans were pretty good as well and a step above the typical TexMex rice and beans. The server was pretty attentive throughout our whole visit, and I honestly have no complaints about what they had to offer. Pricing on the meal and drinks was pretty standard for Austin, and I didn't think anything really took me out of the experience. On top of that, for being in Barton Springs, there is quite a bit of parking. I would love to come back at some point in the future and hang out on their rooftop bar because that seems like a lot of fun. Shoutout to El Alma for being a TexMex oasis saving me from the MoPac traffic. RIYL: TexMex, but better than your average

I have not found a taco place that was phenomenal until I tried this place! The vibes take you back to Mexico with authentic tacos served simple, straight forward, and let the taco speak for itself! We were downtown for a concert at the Moody Theater and were hungry so we decided to walk a short 9 mins to Taqueria De Diez! The best decision made! Full disclosure... the establishment is located down a very DARK creepy alley (the kind in the movies where you shouldn't go down to get) but after overcoming that fear... this will be the best decision you make! Your tummy will thank you! Follow the outside "TACO here" sign. Go through the door and walk straight... this will get you through the line. Lucky for us on a Saturday night at 10:30pm there wasn't a super long line. We managed to grab two seats to chow down our tacos. You will be able to see the chefs cook the carne asada on the grill and the Al pastor on the spit roast being cut to be put in tacos. The smell was amazing and you know you're at a legit place! Ordering: -Check out their menu while waiting in line so you know what to order when it's your turn. -place order at register. They accept visa, Mastercard, Venmo, cash, but does NOT accept AMEX. - grab your drinks if you purchased some. Mexica soda, horchata, jimicama drinks, water , etc - give your ticket to the expeditor and tell them to go or dine there. The expeditor will ask you cilantro, onions, and salsa on a taco? Say yes. It's a must. The expeditor will tell the chefs to assemble your tacos. (I'm seriously so impress with how efficient and quick their service goes. We waited maybe 5-10 mins and got 5 tacos and chips/salsa. There was about 8 ppl in front of us but the lines go quick. If you ordered chips and salsa then you will get the chips from the cashier and the salsa from the expeditor. * 1 Al pastor taco on flour 4/5: love the fresh pineapples on it! The Al pastor had crispy pieces and was super tasty! It was really tasty. There were pieces of meat that was dry but the salsa helped and pineapple. Season was really good! I was in awed with how tasty it is! Definitely best Al pastor in ATXi had! * 1 Campechano on flour 5/5: wow best of both worlds! I had this taco second and loved the combo flavor! Juiciness of the carne asada and crispy frol the Al pastor. * carne asada on flour 5/5: juicy perfectly seasoned and love the green sauce on it! Sauce was creamy and paired well with the taco. It was so so freaking good! The flour tortilla is super thin and let the meats stand out. Loaded Smokey taco and was differently the best carne asada I've ever had! After trying the carne asada I definitely think it's better than Al pastor! I'm glad I tried the Al pastor taco first before the carne because I think the carne asada would have outshine the Al pastor if I had it first. It was a great end to the last taco! * 1 VOLCAN- couldn't try because it was sold out * chips and salsa 4/5: chips crispy and not oily. Salsa was super spicy but good. All tacos come with onions cilantro and salsa with no additional cost. Overall do I recommend this place? I truly wish I tried this place 5 yrs ago when I moved to ATX! I truly highly recommend this place! Do not wait 5 yrs to go try this place or you will be full of regrets! It's a simple taco but made right with complex balance and flavors! I love love love it and now will be thinking about these tacos! Highly recommended! Prices are reasonable and the tacos are made with love!

The Chicken Pibil Quesadilla "Pizza" (chihuahua, cotija, oaxaca, smoked tomatoes, jalapeño, chimichurri, crema, epazote) was good, but the guacamole was stellar, and we are picky. It could have been the pomegranate or the pickled jalapeño or the red onion (all listed on the menu), but I really think they juiced a whole lime. It is like "try to replicate at home" good. Twenty minutes later, we went back up to ask about the table and were actually told by the staff that they forgot about it. Finally a table was set for us and we sat down. We all ordered drinks and asked for water at this point. The water was brought, but we waited and waited for our drinks.
