Because let me tell you right now, Mama'z earned it. It did everything that a 5 start review deserves. First, friendly service, even on a cold rainy day, even if it's a food truck. Service was still there. Second. They give you a FULL container of the food. They didn't skimp on a single thing. Sides, main dish, nothing. In fact they even gave me some extra gravy for free. Third, that first bite makes your mouth want to go tap dancing. You keep eating when you're full because it taste so good . Drop what you're doing and go here. You're welcome.

However, on this particular day, I went by the food truck at 3 pm and all their plates were sold out. They only had two pans of seafood broil at $75, which I am told would feed 4 people. The stated hours are to 7 pm. I did not plan to buy food for 4 people...just one. The food truck manager said I should have called first to check to see if they had any plates left. Well, I could have called and so that is totally my bad. However, it is a reasonable expectation that you will not run out plates of food 4 hours before closing. I am going to be less likely to patronize this business in the future.

This place operates on a tab-based system, so no need to wait for a check, since the tab is opened for you before you're seated. This worked very smoothly! You can't go wrong, everything on the menu is a hit. We shared appetizers, like the queso w/chips and the cornbread. I ordered the special, the hamsteak and jezebel, with sides salad, mac n cheese, and with a sausage link because why not. I had to remember to save room for dessert because the cheesecake here is amazing! I had the chocolate and cranberry cheesecake, which is worth every bite. The service is also excellent. They know they're closing but that did not stop them from taking care of our group like we were family. Our group enjoyed every bit of the experience. I hope to make it back again. I ordered their 2-piece fried chicken with 2 house mates which they call the sides. I decided to get mac and cheese and creamed spinach. Honestly, the fried chicken was not good at all. Overall, the meal just wasn't that great unfortunately. The customer service was good, but I probably wouldn't eat here again.

A manager kindly helped seat us at the last table that could fit a high chair, and our server was perfectly pleasant. Then we watched an older Uber Eats driver ask for an update on an order after being told it would be ready in five minutes. More than ten minutes later, when he checked again, the assistant manager was openly rude and dismissive. He told the driver he could not make the kitchen move any faster and then said, "Why don't you leave and come back then if you're in such a hurry." That interaction was bad enough that we canceled our food order, paid for our drinks, and left. When asked why, I explained exactly what we had witnessed. The response: "Don't worry about that, he's just an Uber driver." That told us everything we needed to know. We do not want to support a business where management treats people that way and then defends it. We will not be back. John, you should be ashamed of yourself.

We both subbed beans for mac and cheese. My friend appeared the most jolly I'd ever seen him and thoroughly enjoyed the chicken. I really liked the mac and cheese, and I liked the chicken as well. The coleslaw was decent, and I often don't like coleslaw. The skin was tough and too much for me, but the food itself was great. The two piece was substantial for me, and the four piece seemed to be a little too much even for a big boy. The restroom floors were suspiciously very wet. I feel like they could provide some moist towelettes because the chicken was very greasy, and we had to just pour water on the napkins. You can really taste the love that went into all this food. This is a food truck right across from HEB mueller in that swimming pool parking lot. She's only open on the weekends and her food can be ordered on DoorDash but she has more menu items in person than on DoorDash. I online ordered and picked up 3 different orders. 2 of them were not ready and she had me wait in my car and she brought them out to me so I didn't melt in the heat. Now the important stuff the menu... Ok who knew you could fry ribs?!?! They were on point. 4 to an order. Ribs were still moist, the batter had a crunch, and the meat fell off the bone. The dirty rice was the best dirty rice I've ever eaten. It was loaded up with seafood The smothered pork chops were 2 to an order and 2 sides served on a bed of white rice. Also very moist and great flavor, the Mac n cheese was not runny which I personally hate when it's just a runny mess, the fried cabbage also had a great flavor and it was still crunchy. The jerk chicken had great flavor but it was ordered as mild (not by me) and it definitely needed the heat/spice,the jumbalaya side was also tasty We also got the hot Cheetos boudin balls (I forgot to take a picture) they were huge and not spicy at first bite the heat sneaks up on you. The strawberry crunch cake was a big slice and reminded me of strawberry cake doughnut but that banana pudding was also probably the best banana pudding I've ever eaten. I felt all the portions were huge and prices were fair. This definitely not a food truck to sleep on. I've been told she makes great oxtails but they sell out fast.
