Bomb food delicious, wish the margarita was bigger. I ordered 2 pounds of shrimp w potatoes and corn and couldn't finish it

I've been craving crawfish since forever so we finally came for dinner on Friday night at around 6:30 pm. We were seated immediately, which never happens. Our server was Camilla. We ordered our usual: 2 lbs of crawfish with their whole shabang sauce mild, we included 3 potatoes, 7 sausages, and 1 corn to the bag, a side of rice, cajun fries, and a margarita. We finished at 7:10 pm, which is like the quickest boiling crab experience ever! Thoughts: -Sauce is not the authentic boiling crab sauce, it is way less seasoned and had an odd aftertaste. Ca and Dallas ones are 10000% much better.. tasting wise, but I've also never been to a boiling crab where they've messed up the sauce?? cuz cmon! the sauce is the best part!!! -Sausages are TINY compared to other boiling crab restaurants we've been to -I don't normally dip my crawfish in the lime/salt&pepper cuz you honestly don't really need it, but I dipped it in there for every single bite this time around.. hence, the sauce.... -Menus on napkin holder aka QR code -Gloves were the only solid thing here! We will not be frequenting this boiling crab location anymore. Waste of money! Overall, boiling crab is honestly like the best besides all the waiting, but if the sauce isn't good, then it's not worth it cuz you really are there for the sauce. Parking spots are limited near the restaurant, and people ought to park better cuz some people just can't park. Get there early to avoid that and to lessen your wait time. Ordered wings for appetizer and they were too pink to eat even though the manager insisted they were correct temperature. They took them off our bill after two tries. Lol the shrimp in our $110 spread was filthy and we left more than half of it, but they took 10% off... It's served in bags so you can't really see what you're getting. They should serve them on a platter so everything is out, and the juice is accessible. Blue crab was mediocre. And everything was just lukewarm. We definitely will not be repeat customers. There are lots of other places to visit and Enjoy. read more

This place runs as the most well-oiled machine, holy crap. The staff is READY for you when you walk in...and you better be ready for them. I went for a graduation dinner and was extraordinarily pleased at how clean it was for 9:00pm. We were sat immediately and our drink orders and side orders were immediately taken. We got the lemon pepper fries (OMG) and waters. Our waiter missed my friend's sweet tea but he was super busy trying to get a massive party seated. I ordered half of a pound of shrimp in garlic butter at medium spice. Thank god I didn't go for the XXL, the hottest spice, as it was delicious but butt-burning for sure. They were pretty much out of all of their seafood but that was to be expected. My friend enjoyed her shrimp and oysters. My other friend enjoyed her shrimp and potatoes. The price is steep but it is worth the treat. It is an experience for sure! I cannot wait to go back or to get takeout (a fried shrimp basket or something close). I had no idea this place would be so good as I frequent the area for AFS Cinema and Galaxy Highland and have eaten at the expensive restaurants nearby. Check it out but watch your pocket as the check will be a random number for sure. read more

Our party of 5 came in at 6:30pm on a hot summer Friday night, and our booth was ready for us within 10 minutes. My boyfriend and I shared a pound of shrimp, a pound of crawfish, 2 cobs of corn and a bowl of rice. We chose mild spiciness and the while shabang flavor. They give you a little container or salt and pepper you can dip your food in. The also give you a bunch of lime wedges, which we opted in on squeezing into out salt and pepper. I am very grateful that they provide you gloves and bibs to keep your shirt and hands clean. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. I usually don't like crawfish because the meat to shell ratio is not worth it, but if that fulfills your craving, it's worth a try. The corn was so deliciously sweet. The flavor was scrumptious, but I couldn't help but think of how much the butter was clogging my arteries. So if you are health conscious, I would be careful with the flavor you choose. My sister-in-law gave us some mussels to try, and they were cooked perfectly. Our server was friendly and came by our table to check in on us. He even let us borrow his sharpies so we could participate in the restaurant's tradition of signing their wooden walls and pillars. read more

Great location and delicious options! We especially enjoy the fried shrimp basket and the broiled shrimp and crab legs served in a bag, flavorful. The restaurant is very clean overall, and the hand-washing stations are a nice touch. Ramiro, the host, was wonderful tonight, just as he has been on previous visits. He greets guests with a warm smile and carries a welcoming light about him that makes you feel at home. Our server, Mathew, was also excellent, he brought everything we requested promptly and correctly. This was our third visit, and definitely not our last. If you're looking for a seafood boil in a bag this place don't play. The sauces are amazing and saucy. It can get messy so I definitely recommend using the bib and asking for gloves. I love their soft shell crab and fried oyster appetizers. For the boil I always get the lobster, mussels and snow crab. It's pricey as it is seafood about $70-$100 per person but it also depends on what you get. To me if you're going to get seafood def spurge it's worth it! read more

Had a great experience here, ordering is pretty standard to most crab/shrimp boils, seasonings include: 1. Cajun 2.lemon pepper 3. Garlic Mix 4. The whole Shabang which is all 3 combined. I ain't never seen a seafood boil I didn't love and I don't think I ever will, it's just so darn good! Especially with the whole sha-bang sauce! I especially love that the sauces are independent of the spice level, so you really can try everything. And even without ordering it extra juicy, the boils come with so much sauce, like I took my sauce home and I'm gonna use it on other things too! While all the seafood was delicious, it was kind of hard to peel the shrimp. Maybe it was just an off day, but all the shrimp shells kept sticking to the meat, and it was so hard to get off without mangling the shrimp. And if you want crab, I would say maybe go for the more expensive ones. The blue crab really doesn't have much meat, and the legs are too skinny to find much there either. And if you want to get the blue crab, you have to buy two minimum. As for the service, the workers were really nice, but there were some things I didn't like about the processes themselves. I wish they had smaller gloves, because they were so big, the gloves themselves kept getting in my way of eating. Or they would get caught on the shells and rip. And although they put a big piece of paper down over the table, I wish they provided some sort of tray for you to pour your boil into for easier access while still being contained. And also a bucket to put all your shells in. Our server brought a bucket with the food, but then they put the food bag down and left with the bucket. I peak times (weekends around dinner time) there may be a wait but they do offer a waitlist service so you can roam around the area while your party waits Food: my husband and I had an era where we checked out local (smaller name) boil Cajun seafood restaurants and while some do have more unique flavors, boiling crab does have the best quality seafood. Although like all season foods, there are seasons/visits where the crawfish tastes better and the snow crabs are big and juicier than normal. For the consistency I am giving them a 4star) We usually get a 3/4lb of crawfish per person and a cluster of snow crabs each, and we add on sausage, corn, and potatoes (sometimes some egg or side of rice as well!) with some Cajun fries which are amazingggg Be ready to drop so $$$ because satisfying a seafood craving is not cheap read more

Crawfish here isn't the best in town but it scratches an itch during crawfish season. Some of the crawfish is a little bit overcooked but my biggest issue with this place is that the sauce here is very mediocre. It could use better seasonings - most of what I taste is just salt. I expected something more memorable given the pricing. Another thing that bothered me was the service. Our waiter kept encouraging us to order more items throughout the meal, which felt a bit pushy. Later I realized that gratuity was already included in the bill, so larger orders likely meant a bigger tip. That left a slightly uncomfortable impression. Would I recommend it? The place was so open and spacious with tons of seating inside and out. We came during a busy hour and we were still seated and served in a timely manor. Our food came out piping hot. I'm obsessed with Boiling Crab. I come here almost weekly and sometimes even multiple times a week. Avoid coming on the weekend since it gets pretty busy. Weekdays aren't too bad. I love the garlic butter shrimp and the Cajun seasoning for the live crawfish. Their fried scallops are great too if you're dining in. If ordered to-go, unfortunately they lose their crisp. For me, the perfect amount is half a pound of shrimp and 2 pounds of crawfish. Sometimes if I'm feeling like treating myself, I'll throw in a corn. read more

Passing by had to stop at bowling crab I had stopped at the red Hook so I was sort of hooked on boiling crab so we had to stop by of course. Did not fail me. I don't know why I always crave Boiling Crab when I'm in a different city for work. This time I was in Austin and got really excited when I found out there was a BC just a short Uber ride away. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth. They made me feel welcomed right away. My server, Derek attentive and always one step ahead. My water cup was never empty and the food came out so fast and of course delicious. Multiple staff including Edwin and Frank checked in on me making me feel like a valued customer. The wait was super long but once we got in our server, Kelly, was absolutely amazing--friendly, attentive, and super knowledgeable about the menu. The music choice of the restaurant was great and I liked how it was pretty clean for it being a place where you're meant to get your hands dirty in there seafood boils. I got the fried catfish basket with fries, and my friend got the fried shrimp basket with onion rings. Everything came out piping hot! So I went here on the recommendation of a couple friends and was not really all that impressed. I got the one pound of shrimp boil bag and was shocked that it came with nothing. Everything is a la carte. I ordered sausage, potatoes, and corn as these are usually standard at most establishments. They also don't have a head off option for shrimp, and that's a turn-off. The taste of the food was good, although it wasn't anything stellar. I got all three seasonings mixed together. The service was good but nothing out of the norm. I did like the ambiance of the place, though, with ample seating and natural light. The price wasn't excessive, but it was twice the price off Hook and Reel, and the flavor of both places is comparable. I would eat here again but only if someone asked me to go. read more
