Whole fried fish
Jenn C.

Tucked back behind pappasitos on 35 - skip pappasitos and keep going to searenias. I had to get the whole fried fish since it reminds me of travels to the Caribbean and Mexico. I also had the pulpo tostada (no picture) but another mouth worthy choice. Now the pina colada.....suburb! Delicious! Good food and drinks and glad the menu had photos because many of the staff don't speak English which is fine. I do my best communicating but the pictures helped!

Soup, shrimp, el mochis tostada

Amazing food. Decor is very nice, really sets the vibe, love all of the neon signs around the restaurant. Great spot for families. Highly recommend the tostada de jaiba and camarones zarandeados. The sushi rolls are to die for too! The only thing that always misses with this place is the service. Terrible. They do the bare minimum. Make sure you're ready to order everything you need when the server comes, or you will staying waiting a long time for them to come back and check on you. We got added an automatic 20% gratuity on a party of 3 adults and 1 child.

Sushi and pepino amor (drink)

Very cool vibes and can get loud with the band, but can be a fun time! The sushi was surprisingly good and the drinks were a bit sweet and pricey. Overall it's a cool place to check out!

Food: 4 / 5 Service: 3 / 5 Cleanliness: 3.5 / 5 Parking: 4 / 5 Price: 3.75 / 5 Food wasn't amazing but it was good. We definitely loved the affordable drinks, calamari, and ceviche! We also had a sushi roll but like I said, it wasn't mind blowing. Service for us was meh. It took over 30-45 minutes for them to check on our food after we first ordered. We seriously thought they were still preparing the food but apparently they forgot to press "send/enter" so we had to wait an additional 20-30 minutes for our food to finally prepare. Cleanliness: The tables and menus were very sticky and I had to go back to the bathroom often to wash my hands. Inside didn't seem extremely organized as well. Inside the venue it was VERY loud and the performers moved around a lot. It was very difficult for my girlfriend and I to talk. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the vibe and I LOVE learning and experiencing new culture, but my ears were hurting towards the end. Maybe offer customers ear plugs so we don't damage our ears would be a nice bonus. Pricing was a bit high. Not affordable outside of the drinks. Definitely check it out but don't have high expectations. I think they are properly rated on Yelp as of this review (3.5 / 5) - TikTok/YouTube: @gillynova

Shame on ya'll for not giving this place at least a 4! So my friend and I are in Austin and she recommended a place she's been to that has excellent micheladas! And if you follow my posts, I think I add michelada's everywhere I can find them. So I've always wanted to try the REAL ones with the shrimp and other stuff... THIS place had one with CEVICHE, yes I said it, CEVICHE on top! Wow! It was amazing and delicious. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend coming here again for that drink/food. I didn't try the sushi though, no offense, but I dunno if I would try the sushi, but I gotta give it up to them for trying! Great spot!

We got here and the place was going to close early, however they decided to seat us anyway. We were a party of 4 and the food did not disappoint. The waiter was great in assisting us and helping each of us order a dish that we would truly be satisfied with, The decor inside was simply so pretty! A spot where you could take a ton of cute instagram photos. From the sushi to the nachos to the ceviche and the drinks! Everything was so delicious I would definitely try this spot again. The only disappointment we had were some drinks and menu items were unavailable. But again we went right before closing time so I didn't dock their star based off of that. If you are in Austin take a trip to this spot! You will love everything about it! The food ambiance and overall vibe of the staff!

Went here for National Margarita Day and while the marg was strong and delicious, service was far from. Kitchen was closed when we arrived but we just went for drinks so that was fine. Place was definitely packed out and they had karaoke going on as well. Would possibly return for a drink special and would hopefully receive better service second time around.

octopus with cheese oddly works, the sushi was excellent too

This is a hidden gem, the ceviche was to die for (shrimp aquachiles), even the sushi was delish & the Camarones Zarandeadoes grilled shrimp in the shell was so so good! Ya know where Papadeaux's is on IH 35 this place is in the back right next door behind Chile's... this place is so great! Live music too!

Kolby G.

Super fun place. Service is very good. Live music is a lot of fun. Food is delicious. Appetizers: Bacon Poppers Combo - 4/5 Boiling Pots: Encabronado Shrimp - 5/5 Food is really good, the boiling pots are delicious. The spice is super tasty. Fun atmosphere.

I just got El chapo drink for the can tbh, the drink was not my type but the watermelon agua fresca was on point.
Milli M.

I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE! It's just my type of vibe and the food and drinks were on point, I celebrated my birthday lunch here with my girls and I must say I'd definitely be back... I love seeing El Chapo everywhere and Mal Verde.. the service was great & there's a bunch of hottie waitresses I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for great food and a variety of awesome drinks. We will definitely be back.

Puppet show
Rachel S.

Wow this place is wild! It's got crazy lights and music, entertainment, very little English spoken, and a totally eccentric menu of Mexican and sushi. The oyster platter was so crazy to look at and very exciting to eat. The Mexican food was tasty and authentic, and the sushi was fresh. I'm not sure I totally understood the puppet show that was occurring, but would like to come back on a karaoke night! Very fun and festive night out!

The intimate, speakeasy setting is such a vibe! Hidden behind a bookcase tucked away in Holey Moley, Chef Saine and his small team bring you an incredible 14-course experience with top-tier ingredients sourced directly from local farmers in Japan. With only 6 seats per session, this is a cozy experience and one I definitely could not recommend more. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, located in East Austin, there is plenty of street parking. - Reservations can be tricky to land, but you can grab weeknight ones if you're flexible. - Pricing is about $170/person, with the option to add on drinks and extra bites (3 extra for $45/person). Tax and tip not included. My favorite bites were the maguro blue fin (an incredible start to the night!), the buttery Kanpachi amberjack, and the Wagyu ribeye with salted egg yolk (steak and eggs). Everything is stellar, and the Belgium chocolate ice cream finish with a little serenading from Chef is a great way to wrap up the experience. Service is top notch!

The service was stellar and they were easy to book on OpenTable I also tried the green tea mocktail and found it to be light and refreshing and I was happy that it wasn't super sweet My two favorite items were: 1. The Edamame - which were charred in a way that I feel like I've never experienced it before and had such great flavor. 2. The scallop roll had a thinly sliced shaved truffle on top that made the roll simple yet out of this world. Shout out to the manager who came by just to check in. Really enjoyed this one a lot lighter Kudamono 3/5- the banana is interesting and pleasant in texture but i would say overall compared to the other rolls.
