Seriously, it was so obvious that one girl in a bad review was from California--she was complaining about her quesadilla. Who the heck goes to an enchilada joint and orders a quesadilla?! This is some genuinely fine Tex-Mex. It's a great place, and I definitely suggest it (especially the lunch specials, which are a very good deal). This restaurant isn't as good as it used to be, but the enchiladas are still stellar! The prices, the margaritas and the tables are not as good as they used to be, but the service and the enchiladas are still good, as is the salsa and chip situation. If you want authentic Mexican, go elsewhere, for Tex-Mex enchiladas, they are hard to beat, even in Austin. Anyone who's been here knows [[HIGHLIGHT]]the decor and the ambience is sorely lacking[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], but people don't line up daily for the decor. I have been a fan of enchiladas. He asked for a very long time. Today I ordered the chef special, but his two tostadas with queso and on the tostadas one has beans. The other one has beef or chicken. I've ordered this many times today was offered fajita chicken with it. It was so delicious. I can't believe I missed out on all this for so long! But then I got the bill. I had no idea that it was almost 6 dollars more to get fajita chicken versus regular chicken. What a rip! I should've been told about the app charge instead of it being offered with no indication of the up charge. I could've just ordered chicken fajitas and it would've been about the same price. So that up charged with a shocker plus add your tax and tip on it and lunch is no longer affordable at enchiladas y mas. read more

I ordered the carne guisada and it was so flavorful and tender. The refried beans are also super good here. I was craving Mexican food so my partner picked this place. This is your typical tex mex food - cheesy, greasy, sizzling. I think the food is pretty average for tex mex and don't have complaints. The salsa was fresh and so spicy, I really liked it. And the prices are incredibly fair, considering the typically overpriced TexMex places that are ample around Austin.
