This is peak "asian fusion" the chicken teriyaki was pretty salty, the gyoza felt frozen, the rice was good, and my partner enjoyed his tofu mushroom bowl. My dish came with miso soup, but was never directed that it's in a vat by the counter, vegan! Yuck! Barely had miso flavor. Honestly if this is Asian food in Austin I'll pass.

4.5 Stars Wholesome, delicious, homestyle Asian food. I thoroughly enjoyed the pork dumpling and pork belly bento ($14). I loved all the components - the juicy pork dumplings, fresh summer roll, flavorful thinly sliced pork belly, crunchy daikon pickles, and chewy fluffy purple rice. I had a bite of my BF's noodles and they were wonderful. Great portions too. Free miso soup is the cherry on top. I thought it was a 5, BF thought it was a 4, so I average it out. Order at the counter and take a seat - casual ambience. Friendly and energetic staff.

Value for money!!! The portions are super huge and tasty at the same time. Ambience could have been better but it felt good after sometime. My fav was the Koriente curry with half rice and half noodle. The noodle was so good and the curry had an authentic taste to it. I went for the mild spicy. The mixmix was bibimbap and the tofu add-on was well sauted and had a great taste to it. The best part was the free miso soup. It was great with seaweed!! Ended up spending $30 for two.

Has been a while. And during Covid times it was take out only. But they're back! This small eatery offers dine-in lunch that includes miso soup and salad. Entrees are always made to order by friendly (like genuinely happy to be here) staff who are accommodating and make recommendations. The tea selection (both boba and non) is great and also made to order. There is some parking in the rear by the patio. Great place for a relatively quick and easy lunch downtown.

Koriente is a quirky Korean fusion restaurant with a cozy vibe. The staff were very friendly. There wasn't any indoor seating available when we initially arrived, so they offered us bug spray to borrow if we chose to sit outside, which was such a kind gesture. They also had a large fan blowing on the patio. This was a really great restaurant experience with good vibes and food, but the raspberry milk tea I got was unfortunately so terrible that I cannot in good conscience leave a five-star rating. I was so enticed by the $4 price for bubble tea, which is something I am not used to seeing these days. I saw they had a raspberry tea, which I thought was unique. I thought it was going to be like a normal fruit tea, but when I ordered it they asked me what milk I wanted in it. I chose oat milk at no additional cost, which was very nice. Unfortunately, the drink tasted horrendous. I really like boba, and I tried to keep sipping it, but the taste was so appalling. My friends tried it, and they agreed it was unpleasant. They said it tasted like cough medicine. My friend got the passionfruit tea, however, and it tasted normal. It was good. For my meal, I ordered the rice medallion sauté with chicken. I enjoyed it, and the chicken was really tasty and not dry at all. The noodles had good vegetables and a tasty sauce. The portion was large, and I took a good amount of leftovers home. They also have a complimentary vegan miso soup that you can serve yourself from a pot. It was such a fire miso soup, even with it not having any fish broth. This is an order at the counter and clean up after yourself type of restaurant. There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant that appeared to fit eight cars at its max.

Loved Koriente! The food was so light and tasty - yet massive portion sizes. The food was also very inexpensive for the quantity you got. I truly loved all the things we tried as it provided a real taste of the restaurant. I can't wait to come back here again!! I definitely will.

Discovered this restaurant while exploring downtown on foot and was pleasantly surprised. Service was really fast and the workers here were nice. They even had miso soup on the house! Definitely a hidden gem in Austin. Everything tasted great and the portion sizes were pretty big. We ordered the pan-seared ahi tuna bowl with avocado and a spicy chicken bowl, both were great and very filling. The smoked salmon roll appetizer tasted really fresh as well. Passion fruit iced tea was a favorite too. Everything had a homemade taste, in the good way. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait. A great quick-ish bite if you're exploring downtown!

I got the pan seared ahi tuna! It was delicious($14)! You can choose how cooked do you want it (rare, medium, well done). I chose rare. The initial taste is a steak-like seasoning that makes the fish taste more meaty but then the aftertaste is more like sushi. I was surprised by how big the ahi tuna was! It was a decent size, which I really appreciate. The dish also comes with purple rice that is flavored with ginger pieces and a refreshing salad. They give you two different sauces, a soy sauce-based one and a spicy one. The inside decor is a mix of Korean and Gothic vibe. The service was fast and everybody was very friendly! The only thing was that there is a very loud bell that hangs over the door that leads to the outside dining. So it took me a few minutes to adjust to the noise.

    Japchae with tofu ($11 + $2.50 tofu)

My friends and I were looking for something quick and light to eat in half an hour in the downtown area, and I'm so glad we found this place! We arrived just after they opened at 11am on a Thursday, and there were some other groups dining as well. We got the japchae with tofu ($11 + $2.50 tofu) and 2 summer rolls (total came out to be $27). The food was served in less than 10 minutes. The rolls were very refreshing and delicious when eaten with peanut sauce that we asked for. The japchae noodles were cooked to the perfect texture and came with a spicy bibimbap sauce that went well with the savory noodles. Interestingly, all the vegetables were buried at the bottom of the bowl, which I would have personally preferred the veggies on top but that's me. It still tasted great which is what matters, and the whole visit was very efficient!

Love this place! It's small and cozy, and the food in excellent! Service is wonderful as well. The beef bowl was amazing! generous portiond of meat and veggies, and I liked how you can choose more than one type of base! They had different tyles of rice and noodles. Parking is very limited, so beware of that. This place is definitely worth the trouble though

The food here is delicious. I was in Austin for a conference, recently, and this restaurant was within walking distance of the convention center. I had the Pan-Seared Ahi Tuna (cooked medium at an employee's suggestion even though I normally eat it rare), miso soup, and peach ginger tea. They give great portions and the food was delicious (I didn't take a picture before I dug in, unfortunately). I was also eyeing the Lemon Pepper Papaya salad, so I decided to go back again the next day. That was my absolute favorite and I added salmon to make it more filling. The restaurant is quaint with indoor and outdoor seating in the heart of the city. The service was great and they gave me a complimentary miso soup the next day, I assume because I either came back two days in a row or because I brought new folks with me the second time. Either way, it was appreciated. If I'm ever in Austin again, I will definitely be back.

Traveling with toddler can be challenging for various reasons. One reason is the food and not having your own kitchen or food from home. After we exhausted the room service kids menu (chicken fingers, fries, fruit plate), we looked for some toddler friendly delivery options. Koriente fit the bill. Seemingly healthier Korean inspired cuisine with a number of "simple" options consisting of protein, grilled vegetables, rice and noodles. We opted for a Teriyaki Chicken and an Obake Bowl. Both were good. Tasty and flavorful without being overly greasy or saucy. Our kiddo enjoyed the purple rice and jap chae noodles. The parents welcomed some Asian inspired cuisine after a weekend of eating a lot of BBQ and Mac & Cheese. This was a relatively light and clean meal. I would order from here again.

Loro is an Asian smokehouse and bar featuring grilled and smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces, sides, and a bar that boasts craft beer, boozy slushees, and batch cocktails. Parking at this location is a bit of a challenge. They have overflow parking in the back but the spots are really small. We sat at the bar area and worked our way through cocktails, apps, and dessert. We opened a tab and the bar staff takes your order which is convenient, versus how you normally have to order by waiting in line at the bar. The bar staff was extremely busy because they have to make all the cocktails and take the line orders at the bar. They are a master of multitasking. It was $3 martini night on Tuesday, so was excited to sample the four different drink options. lychee martini, Mexican martini, and Lucky Cat cosmo martini. Lychee martini is made with new amsterdam vodka, sake, elderflower, Mexican martini with espolon blanco, olive, yuzu, lime and cosmo with vodka, blood orange, naranja, lime. The lychee was hands down my favorite of the three. We started with the Dip Sampler that included a trifecta of smoked shishito queso, smoked salmon dip and Thai green salsa with the Siete blue corn tortilla chips. We went through the chips quickly and got a second round of wonton chips which I preferred to the Siete chips. Tried the Mango Chamoy frozen Slushee with Siete Chamoy Botana Sauce & Siete Chile Lime Seasoning Rim, passionfruit, Aperol, Sake and Sparkling Wine which was refreshing. All their boozy slushies are $5 during happy hour. Ordered the oak grilled edamame from the happy hour menu and it was a flavor explosion with a dusting of serracha powder, lemon zest and white sesame. For dinner, I ordered my go-to rice bowl with coconut-scented rice, seasonal pickles, thai herbs and steak as the protein. They normally served this with Bavette, but the steak was a bit tough and chewy this time. Finished everything off with cheesecake with five spice crumble, yuzu marmalade for dessert. The vibe at the bar was relaxed and lively without feeling overwhelming, and the collab menu felt creative without trying too hard. The ingredients are very thoughtful for a fully developed flavor profile. Just what I would expect from the culinary minds of Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin. Definitely one of the regulars in my list when craving good cocktails with a casual but elevated food menu.

New go-to sushi spot -- no notes!!…read more Ordered to-go and was picking up within 20 minutes. Fast, kind service and a really nice layout if you're dining in. The rolls are creative without being try-hard, unexpected combos like asparagus and Fuji apple that actually work. Everything felt super fresh and well thought out. What I got: The Salmonlicious Roll (M9) was my favorite of the night, I ordered it without cream cheese and it was incredible. The apple adds this perfect sweetness that I didn't know I needed. The Big Easy Roll was a classic done right light, with a beautiful assortment of fish on top. Crunchy cucumbers, tangy yuzu. Chef's kiss. The Spicy Tuna (C4) was a solid classic, good quality fish. The Buddha Roll (M7) was also delicious. Edamame (A6) to start, simple and good. Also, first time using ponzu sauce instead of soy sauce and I am never going back. Game changer. Affordable, fresh, and already planning my return visit!!

I can't sit here and type up a review about the thing I didn't come to MUSE for. Long story short, do not bother trying the ramen here. I actually came to MUSE because they advertised their sandos online. It's the type of sando akin to the famed ones from Age.3 in Ginza and other Japanese spots. It's definitely more expensive than abroad, but it's genuinely the BEST thing here. It's actually so insanely good that I was afraid to eat too much of it. It's the definition of a guilty pleasure. The creme brulee one scares me just from what it makes me become... Word of advice, this place should rebrand to focus on sandos and drinks. Advertise, pop-up, whatever they have to do to get the name out there... I would go just for the sandos and you should too.
