Blue Apsara Cambodian Food Truck on S. Lamar is a great introduction to Cambodian food as it's known for its bold flavors. The menu features classic dishes like lok lak, Cambodian curry, and stir-fried noodles, all seasoned deeply with lemongrass, garlic, and fermented sauces. Important to note, food items are reasonably priced. I decided to get the egg rolls as this was the first time trying Cambodian food. The egg rolls blew my socks off. They were thinner than a standard egg roll with tissue paper thin shell. The egg rolls were filled with vegetables and meats as well as exploding with flavor. I think these are the best egg rolls I recall eating! The food truck setup is located near a plant and coffee shop. There is some seating at picnic tables nearby. What an unexpected treat! Kim, the food truck manager was super nice and personable. Now, I'm ready to try a more extensive Cambodian meal

Every time we visit Austin I make it a point to come here. Very authentic flavors. We got the taste of Cambodia and the ribeye with papaya salad. These dishes transport me back to my time in Vietnam and Lao. The owner is very personable and you can tell he puts his heart into the food he serves. You have an option of eating outside or inside the plant shop, it's so cute.

If you enjoy bold Southeast Asian flavors, you should visit this place. I've tried everything on the menu and loved it all. They offer several options, but every dish is like a comforting home-cooked meal. My favorites are the Papaya Salad, the Cambodian Beef Sticks, and Prahok Ktis. They are a small, family-owned business that is very kind and thoughtful. I love coming here to get takeout. There are also some picnic tables and seating inside the plant shop if you prefer to eat there.

I love supporting small businesses especially when they are serving such delicious food in a cuisine that you really don't find here in Austin! Blue apsara is an incredible Cambodian food truck that serves authentic and delicious food! It is located next to a plant shop where there are a couple tables to enjoy your food (if you choose not to drive it back home!) I highly recommend ordering the taste of Cambodia as we were able to sample the greatest hits the food truck has to offer! It came with egg rolls, which were cooked perfectly crispy and was accompanied with sweet and spicy sauce! It also came with the beef sticks, which the beef was marinated perfectly and went so good with the rice. The Khmer-Lao sausage was also incredibly done! The star of the meal though, was the Prahok K'tis which is a very authentic Cambodian dish. This alone is worth trying! It's spicy and funky in the best way possible. We also tried Nom Pahng Pate, which is similar to a Banh Mi! It was really good and I enjoyed the pate that was inside! Overall, please come and support this incredible food truck!!! There's not a lot of Cambodian places in Austin, so it really is a hidden gem in trying new cuisines from all around the world!

This meal did NOT disappoint!! I wish I could eat it every day. My husband and I shared the Taste of Cambodia and it was the perfect amount of food - we didn't finish it all, but every bite was absolutely delicious. The owner gave us tips on how best to enjoy which was super nice. We sat at the picnic tables nearby and didn't wait long at all for our food. Will definitely come back again and again for the egg rolls and Prahok K'tis was my favorite -- so flavorful!!

Super friendly people and DELICIOUS food! I got the number 11 sandwich and it's one of the best sandwiches I've had! 10/10 Plenty of seating outside and inside! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

JUST saw this new food truck at Mary and South Lamar (right by the urban motorsports shop, on the right if heading south). It's about a mile south from the river/downtown. Cambodian options are extremely limited in this town so I was thrilled and I immediately made an order and was not disappointed! First I will say that the food here is extremely tidy. Perfectly formed and "neat" presentation. I ordered the eggrolls which were perfectly formed thumb sized crunchy Yummies. I got the Nom Pahng pate sandwich which is one of two "banh mi adjacent" sandwiches they offer. It was fresh and the tasty and the baguette was perfect, which is a real feat considering it is pissing rain right now. I also got the weeping tiger steak which is nice chunks of steak and a great dipping sauce. It's the most simple of the dishes I ordered but tasty and solid. I look forward to trying out the rest of the menu and bringing my friends! They don't yet have online ordering but I was able to call them and put my order in ahead so I didn't have to wait for my takeout order. They have "outdoor seating" under an awning of the plant store that shares the parking lot and advertise "indoor seating" but I did not wait around in the rain enough to investigate that lol.

Rating: 4.2/5 [Postmates delivery]…read more Mini Rice Pancakes ($12): Turmeric rice batter, ground pork, shrimp, and mung bean, served with two sauces: coconut cream and house special sauce. I've never had this dish with coconut cream as a sauce--it had a thinner consistency and was salted, which made it really interesting. The house special sauce is similar to fish sauce. The pancakes stayed crispy, and you can taste the turmeric. The shrimp was slightly overcooked, but it's not a big deal when you're dunking the pancakes into the sauces. The coconut cream sauce is especially unique--the sweet and savory combination kept me coming back for more. Crispy Rice Pie ($12): Crispy rice crust, egg, dried shrimp, dried shredded pork, honey green onions, white truffle, and house special sauce. The rice crust was crunchy and made a great base for all the toppings. I poured the house special sauce over the pie, which brought all the flavors together. I'm usually not a fan of dried shrimp, but this one didn't have a strong smell or taste, so it was fine. My husband loved the honey green onions. This appetizer is on the heavier side because of the rice--I was pretty full after just a quarter slice. Cajun Fried Rice ($20): Crawfish tails, hickory-smoked pork and beef sausage, egg, sweet corn, sweet onion, scallion, and Cajun spices. I'd never had crawfish fried rice before, and it wasn't bad. I'm not a huge crawfish fan, so it's more of a try-once dish for me, but my husband really enjoyed it. You definitely get hits of Cajun spice, while everything else is more subtle and well-balanced.

Austin's 100% authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Bun Bo Hue: chewy noodles, fresh big chunks of pork and soft beef. The bowl is made the way I would make it at home, tons of meat. For less than $16, it's the best value to dollar to meal in my opinion more than pho or ramen. It is a bowl full of dark and light spicy flavors of soup. Fresh toppings on top, a big piece of pork blood cake. It's as good as Houston BBH. The banh cuon, man, taste like Vietnam. Fresh fresh fresh rice rolls, not too oily which I appreciate, nice textures of the ground pork which is nicely seasoned, sliced woodear mushrooms, and crispy onions on top. The bean sprouts are nicely steamed and sliced cucumbers add a warranted cooling taste. The nuoc mam for me I want to be saltier, garlic, fish sauce but I can add more spice from the bottles on the table. When you take in a bite of the rice roll, dipped in nuoc mam, it's a taste of Vietnam street food. Plus finish it off with a fresh blanched bean sprout. The price point less than $15 is worth it. Now let's talk about my all time favorite, banh knot. Fried little cakes filled with shrimp, a little bit of coconut milk, green onions and it's a little cup of goodness. Add some nuoc mam and it holds it in the cake. It comes with fresh lettuce, sliced cucumbers, and carrots. Roll it into a little roll, bite into the cake and bite into the vegetable lettuce wrap. It's all time goodness. A 1000% must try. Btw, the dining room and all the utensils are very clean. The plates are also spotless.

It has been one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants-and one of the only places to serve the Vietnamese pancake that I love. I sat down, getting ready to contemplate the menu. I was shocked to see it was a brand new menu. I asked my server about it, and he concurred that it is a new menu, but that the owners had taken many of the former choices off. . NO more fried rice-always my grandson's favorite. Although I was disappointed when it was time to order, I chose the Mixed Protein Bun. I requested shrimp and eggrolls. It is a bowl filled with rice noodles, shredded lettuce, cucumbers, shredded carrots, and your choice of protein. It also comes with a generous portion of fish sauce. After one bite, I knew that the old chef must have left. My food was so bland. To start with, I don't think it was salted at all..... which quite often affects the flavors negatively. There were no other spices or sauce or anything tasty in my bowl. I was very disappointed. I didn't even eat a quarter of the Bun. I didn't take the rest to go and I won't be returning, unless I see that they have returned to their former style of cooking. So I'll definitely be watching the reviews. It makes me very sad to have to write a negative review, especially about a place. I have enjoyed so much in the past!!!
