Pad see ew with shrimp, mild spice, Thai tea and lychee jelly

This place was so good! I came after seeing a recommendation from someone on Facebook and absolutely love it! Will definitely be back! They are located at Nomadic Bar off of Brodie ln and Ben Garza Ln. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the Thai tea just the right amount of sweetness and creamy. The owner (?) Was so nice and gave me a complimentary Thai tea slushi and lychee jelly for my first time and to help beat the heat! Looking forward to trying more of their meal items next time!

I tried Pika's for the first time yesterday, and it is easily the best Thai food I've had in Austin. As someone whose absolute favorite cuisine is Thai, I admit I am incredibly picky--but Pika's completely exceeded all expectations. My partner agreed, calling his meal one of the best dishes he's had all year. The Pad Kra Pao and Pad Thai were absolutely top-notch. To top it off, Pika was kind enough to throw in a couple of free spring rolls to try, and they were fantastic. This awesome food truck shares a lot with Nomadic Brewing, making it the perfect setup to grab a beer while you wait (which doesn't take long at all) or to pair with the spicy, flavorful food. I'm already craving my next visit. I highly recommend this place!

We called ahead to ask whether we can pickup idlis at their earliest and they assured us that…read morethey'll have them ready by 11:30am (listed opening time). We drove 30 minutes, with the kids, reached there at 11:30a, but no one had even opened the truck yet. They drove up a bit later, shocked to find us waiting (though we had just confirmed with them on the phone 30min prior and their listed time is 11:30a), told us they needed some additional time to unpack the food from their car and setup the truck. Close to noon, they asked us our order again, once again saying it'll just be 5-10 minutes max. At 12:30p, we received our two plates of Idlis. They closed the window so we couldn't even request a status check in between. Thank goodness we had carried snacks with us for the kids. We were curious to try more items on the menu but afraid of the long wait times and inaccurate communication to risk it. Though the freshness of the Idlis is much appreciated, and the sambhar was tasty, this kind of customer experience makes it nearly impossible for us to return. If they had let us know at 11am that they couldn't serve food before 12-12:30p, we would've planned accordingly. Additionally, parking isn't easy here. There are 2 food trucks, with 2 spots nearby and 4 further away. The other food truck was open already so it was hard for us to find a spot.

Seriously, everything had great flavor. This is definitely going to become a regular spot for my family. Already looking forward to going back.

We have had our fair share of disappointments by the time we braved this adventure yesterday. Thankfully, this spot has restored our faith in good Indian-Chinese once again. The dumplings were incredible - the skin was thin and well-steamed with a generous amount of flavorful stuffing. The hot n sour soup was spicy. And the chili paneer was absolutely delicious - in a thick gravy that had been seasoned well. The pricing was quite reasonable and the quantities were filling. There is plenty of parking in this convenience store lot making it an easy trip out. The gentleman at the window was nice.

Service was friendly. We ordered three items: - chicken biryani - stir fried rice dish with lots of spices, not too hot. The chicken was pretty good but I wish there was a bit more. - chicken korma - tasty curry that comes with a side of rice. Also wish there was a bit more. - garlic naan - unfortunately it was quite soggy, tasty though! They're still fairly new so are probably working things out. The portions are a bit smaller than other places, but they do charge less too, so that may be why. Overall the flavors are good and I'd recommend giving them a try if you're nearby. Haven't tried the dumplings yet and those are looking good!
