    Chicken 65

They have a 10% off coupon if you sign up for their email list on their website! It only takes 30 seconds. I placed a takeout order and it was ready in about 15 minutes. The location is in a little strip mall on Brodie Lane just next to Shipleys with plenty of parking. The staff was very quick and kind. Their menu is extensive, so it's a little overwhelming if you aren't sure what you like/want. They also have daily specials not available to online ordering. Here's what I ordered ($24): The chicken 65 appetizer. This was delicious, I'd highly recommend it. Perfectly fried and great spices and flavors. Hyderabadi Dum-Ka Chicken Biryani. Packed with flavor and spicy. It came with cilantro and red onion on top, plus two sauces. I would have given it 5 stars if there was more chicken, but a lot of the chicken was just bones. That's the main reason I gave it 4 stars.

They give you ALL the sauces: creamy bottom one (my fav), sweet dark brown one, peanut one (orange) and basil-y one (green)

Honestly this place is kind of a gem, especially in south Austin where Indian food is a bit hard to come by. They have a pretty extensive menu given they're just a food truck, and the cashier was very sweet and helpful. There is (?was) a coupon for free samosas through Yelp that I used and can confirm the veggie samosas are LOVELY. I also got the veggie biryani at medium spiciness which was really good as well, it had a lot of flavor. The prices are very reasonable as well, my biryani was about $11 plus tax and it was a HUGE serving. The truck doesn't really have eating areas or tables outside, I don't know if that's because there's a halal restaurant under construction adjacent to it but you kind of have to get food to go here. It's perfect for that though, very much your classic Indian comfort food. I would give more like 4.5/5 stars cause I was quite happy (but not totally blown away), so rounding down to 4/5 stars here. I'll def be going back the next time I have an Indian food craving though!

I had the Tika Chicken. Delicious. The food was prepared quickly. It is a bit pricey, but isn't everything?

Had the spicy hyderabadi dum biryani, it was very tasty and just the right amount of rice and masala.

We drove 30 minutes, with the kids, reached there at 11:30a, but no one had even opened the truck yet. They drove up a bit later, shocked to find us waiting (though we had just confirmed with them on the phone 30min prior and their listed time is 11:30a), told us they needed some additional time to unpack the food from their car and setup the truck. Close to noon, they asked us our order again, once again saying it'll just be 5-10 minutes max. At 12:30p, we received our two plates of Idlis. They closed the window so we couldn't even request a status check in between. Thank goodness we had carried snacks with us for the kids. We were curious to try more items on the menu but afraid of the long wait times and inaccurate communication to risk it. Though the freshness of the Idlis is much appreciated, and the sambhar was tasty, this kind of customer experience makes it nearly impossible for us to return. If they had let us know at 11am that they couldn't serve food before 12-12:30p, we would've planned accordingly. Additionally, parking isn't easy here. There are 2 food trucks, with 2 spots nearby and 4 further away. The other food truck was open already so it was hard for us to find a spot.

I am thankful to have some Austin friends that originate from the El Paso area to give me the rec on this spot, because it's quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in town! The Drowned El Paso style Beef Tacos are fantastic, as is the Chile Relleno burrito. Stiff drinks, quick and friendly service and an easy situation to bring my kids and their friends...ALL great reasons to check this place out! I now need to find the will power to try something different on the menu. Y'all keep it up, you're nailing it!

The menu includes flavors and fusions of El Paso style fare. Enchiladas, tacos, and uniquely French fried potatoes. The one thing that makes it short of amazing, and maybe unfair considering the carefully crafted fare, is the excessive saltiness. The portions are huge. Enough for two. The aguas frescas ARE homemade. None of that powdered stuff, here. I encourage you to go and support this local restaurant if and when you can.

We have had our fair share of disappointments by the time we braved this adventure yesterday. Thankfully, this spot has restored our faith in good Indian-Chinese once again. The dumplings were incredible - the skin was thin and well-steamed with a generous amount of flavorful stuffing. The hot n sour soup was spicy. And the chili paneer was absolutely delicious - in a thick gravy that had been seasoned well. The pricing was quite reasonable and the quantities were filling. Service was friendly. We ordered three items: - chicken biryani - stir fried rice dish with lots of spices, not too hot. Also wish there was a bit more. - garlic naan - unfortunately it was quite soggy, tasty though! They're still fairly new so are probably working things out. The portions are a bit smaller than other places, but they do charge less too, so that may be why. Overall the flavors are good and I'd recommend giving them a try if you're nearby. Haven't tried the dumplings yet and those are looking good!
