Today, however, I tried out Castle Hill for the first time and it was a weird experience. The service was awkward and just off. Ordering takeout, you'd expect to arrive at the time designated with your order prepared to grab and go. When I get there, at the designated time, I mention my name and order. The smoothie seemed to be on the side (instead of the counter), and the team member has to go to the back and I watch them not only transport the bag of soup from one plastic container to another, I watch them throw away the bag that still has at least 1/2 cup of soup still in it. I regret not saying anything. They then gave it to me. No bag, no utensils, no croutons (as selected on my order). So I preceded to bag myself. Certainly thrown off and annoyed that after paying for a 32 oz bag of soup, including service charge, I went home with 28 oz of soup and an awkward experience. Maybe it's protocol to pour out of the bag now? In the past, I was given the whole bag so I can store properly and I was ensure the full amount. No idea. read more

What a place!!! This place was recommended by a friend on a cold day and it blew my expectations out of the water. The friendly staff behind the counter, the tasty ingredients, what a combo!! (That's a joke which will appeal to oldsters who are drinking smoothies because the doctor has taken everything else off their diet.) The smoothie was much better than the joke. I would have a Duane Almond again any time and be happy. My wife had a smoothie with broccoli. I looked at her in amazement ... The way you would look at someone eating broken glass. She got the whole broccoli smoothie down and actually liked it. * * * The soups here are very good. The jokes here are not very good. I love this spot so much! I went here for the first time on a weekend morning to get a light lunch. I shared a pesto, spinach, and mozzarella sandwich my partner and drank a watermelon smoothie with Emergen-C. It was so refreshing, especially on a hot day! My partner got the Peach Yogurt smoothie, and his was also really yummy and fresh. Service was also great. The cashier was able to give me a great recommendation when I was between two smoothie flavors, and it turned out perfect. Prices are really fair, and there is lots of parking in their lot in front. Just a heads up that there is no inside seating. It's a walk up stand at this location, but there are a few tables you can sit at out front, and they have fans outside. I would get everything I got again, and I definitely will be coming here again. 10/10! Highly recommend for a nice day time date or a spot to go with friends during the day. read more

Stopped in to grab a juice to get something healthy between binging on Texas BBQ. The juice menu didn't really have exactly what I wanted (too many things had acidic fruits which flares up my gastritis). I ended up settling on the busy bee smoothie which I asked to make a little watered down so it wasn't as thick since I was in the mood for a juice. It was tasty and watered down just enough. A bit pricey but I guess that's what you expect for a health bar. read more

My friend ordered the basil, pesto, and provolone sandwich with an 8oz chicken and rice soup. We both thought the soups and sandwiches were mediocre. I can make these myself at a fraction of the price. However, the smoothies made up for the dissatisfactory soups and sandwiches. I chose the peach yogurt honey smoothie with added mango. I got an 8oz Chicken Soup with Rice and a Basil Pesto, Provolone sandwich. I thought the soup and sandwich were mediocre. The soup tastes like any other chicken noodle soup and was really salty. The sandwich was nice to eat with the soup but I probably wouldn't order either again. For a drink, I got a Watermelon Strawberry smoothie and added mango. I really liked this and with tax it came out to $7.04 for a 24 oz, which isn't bad. Also, adding mango didn't cost extra! My friend got a 12oz Greek Lemon Chicken Soup and the pepperoni, sun dried tomato pesto mozzarella sandwich. I didn't get to try her sandwich, but her soup was pretty good. We came hear for the gluten free and vegetarian menu options and everyone in our party found something to eat. The food was pretty good. I got a soup (on a hot day like the crazy person I am) it was gluten free and very tasty. My mom and sister both got the apple and munster grilled sandwich. One of them was a little slow to come out because the order just got a little mixed up in the kitchen, but they were very polite about it. They wished that the apple slices had been a little thicker because the flavor got a little lost in the cheese. Oh and they did mishear our names when they took our orders. It's fine; the bread is perfectly buttered and crisp. The sandwich compliments the tomato soup well, but it's kinda bland by itself. - Pesto Provolone: The sourdough, though perfectly buttered and crisp, still somewhat overwhelmed the other flavors. I would've also appreciated a touch more pesto. SOUP - Tomato Basil Soup: it's quite thick, which I enjoyed. It's not creamy, more hearty. You can taste the garlic, but it's not overpowering. It had a consistency (and even a flavor?) reminiscent of marinara, which I didn't really like. It was fine, and a nice hearty soup if you're in the mood, but I found the basil flavor lacking, and would've preferred something creamier. Not much to write home about.
