Turkey Avo Salsa Verde + soup
Karson S.

LOVE this place. The portions are large, and the ingredients are so fresh. Took some out of town visitors here as our first stop which set the food bar high. Love how their food had lots of flavor, and there are options for different diets. I love the soup & sandwich combo - the soup was HUGE! Staff is always kind here, and the place feels very new. I like staring at the cows walking on the walls. Can get crowded on a weekend with lots of families here, but a great option

Farm club sandwich

Mendocino Farms delivers on both flavor and freshness. We started with two of their handcrafted lemonades--the Pomegranate Mint and the 'Get Your Greens.' Because they make these fresh to order, they're bright, vibrant, and well worth trying. For our meal, we shared the Farm Club sandwich, which was generously stacked with fresh turkey, juicy tomatoes, and tangy pickled red onions that tied every bite together. It's an absolute standout, and I'll definitely be ordering it again on my next visit.

Crispy rice salad with tofu and the large curry couscous

Ooooh Mendocino Farms boy have I missed you! Its hidden right around the corner from Costco and Whole foods. Do yourself and favor and eat here instead of whole paycheck. Ever since Amazon took over whole foods their deli and salads area are so meh, bland and not fresh. I used to live in Long Beach CA and I would go up to LA for work a few times a month. I would look forward to those days when my accounts would ask to pick up Mendocino farms for lunch. All the salads delish. Always the most in-season veggies, freshly made salad dressings and it was just all the things I LOVE and really miss being so land locked here in Central Texas. 8/10. Service- the culture vibes are here. Friendly, helpful, efficient 8/10 Restaurant-fun, clean, quirky as I remember it.. cows hanging on the ceiling. 9/10 Food- I had the Crispy Rice Salad with tofu. -And a large side of the couscous (I LOVE that couscous... its creamy, light, the texture is fun and its super as a side or adds a boost to any salad or sandwich). -the salad greens crisp, rice was an amazing crunch. -dressing was soo good! Umami yet bright and light -all the extra veggies at the peak of season. Just chefs kiss! Ps: LOVE how the dressing has its own "home" in the to-go container. -points taken off for the tofu.. it was SUPER salty. Not sure if that is always the way or it was just a bit heavy handed today. It was not edible (bummer). The salad and the large couscous lasted me 4 meals. They pack a LOT of salad in that to go container. Is it worth for "just a salad or sandwich" here. YES! You will realize how GREAT good high sourced veggies taste when you eat here. Im so glad there is a piece of Cali here in Austin! I haven't had this level of greens in over 3 yrs since moving to ATX. The seasonal teas looked amazing-thats for next time! Come try it for yourself. Do a date day, girlfriends lunch. Its just so yummy!

1/2 Sand Combo: The Farm Club and Tomato Soup. Yum!!

I had heard a lot of hype around this place before it opened. It seemed to get a lot of foot traffic when I'd drive by, so I ordered take out. An assortment of sandwiches and soups. The soup was great! Can't remember what sandwich I got. Went in last week to sit down and dine. Such a nice vibe! Super friendly staff. We ordered 1/2 combos, and were happy with our orders. My Farm Club was great! And the soup...still great. Excited to go back and try more items from the menu. Fresh taste, great textures and flavors.

After an intensive one-hour of exercise, I was starving. Well, not literally, but it felt like it at the moment. Mendocino Farms is about 3 minutes from my gym. I stopped by for the much touted Avocado and Quinoa salad (the only place I actually like quinoa). Everything about this salad is atypical. The salad is crunchy with enough textures to make every bite more interesting than the last. In addition, the salad is delicious from first to last bite. Yes, I ate the entire salad! Also, the salad dressing appears to be a hybrid of French dressing and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Whatever the ingredients, the salad dressing is quite good. While Mendocino farms was busy, it was quiet enough that folks were speaking at normal volumes. Anthony, the manager, was helpful to answer some of my questions. Overall, chill vibe... I grabbed my salad to go. Although my salad traveled across town, it was still quite tasty when I arrived home.

I complained last time about the waiting time during peak hours. I thought perhaps it was unfair, so today I came back during non-peak hours and I was the only customer. I still waited 15+ mins for my to-go order? It's just a sandwich, how "fresh" can you make it that it takes so long?

Farm sandwich tomato soup

Great spot for quick healthy lunch I love the farm sandwich - can come with gluten free bread if you need it too! The tomato basil soup is delicious - I like to do half sandwich and soup usually Service is great, quick and easy order at the front and they'll bring it out to you. Very clean inside and easy parking lot situation! The guava lemonade is also really good Only downside is pretty pricey but great ingredients

If you gotta have grease, stay out the kitchen. Cause you won't get it here Okay, so I'm shocked. I ordered the not so fried chicken sandwich with a potato salad and a cookie. I got the guava lemonade for my beverage. I expected my sandwich to be bigger. However, it was good and I didn't have to use my golden BBQ sauce. The sauce wasn't needed at all. The quality of the chicken was amazing. My potato salad was very good and flavorful. This is the best potato salad I've gotten at a restaurant and I'm a strict critic when it comes to potato salad. My chocolate chip cookie was just a cookie, I couldn't get it warmed. I love how no pops/sodas were present. The guava lemonade was amazinggg. Please sale a large jug of your housemade juices! Overall I enjoyed it. This is a good healthy lunch option! The service was really good as well. This location was busy and I still got my food in good timing.

Goat salad
Eric G.

We ordered the goat salad and a sandwich (forgot which one!). The ordering process went smoothly and pickup was quick and friendly. You just pick it up in the to-go section. We enjoyed the sandwich, but I preferred the salad. It was a good amount of food and very tasty! My only issue is the cost, it's on the pricey end. However, if you're in the area and looking for a sandwich or salad I think it's a solid choice.

Chen's Crispy Rice Salad (top), Small Side of Spicy Curried Couscous (bottom)

My friends from California told me that I HAD to try this chain that recently arrived in Austin, and man am I so glad I did! If you like Panera, you're going to absolutely LOVE this place -- it's like an elevated version of Panera that I didn't know I needed! I of course had to get the Chen's Crispy Rice Salad bowl (my last name is in the name of the salad haha) and don't let the takeout bowls mislead you...when you pour out the container, the portion size is much bigger than it looks lol. I did wish they were a bit more generous with the serving of chicken because the ratio was like 80% greens, 20% protein. Lastly, I tried their side of Spicy Curried Coucous because it sounded interesting and let me tell you...I don't like coucous but I sure did like this one haha! There is a nice spicy kick but the creamy curry flavor helped balance the spice in every bite. All in all, I will absolutely be back to try some other items on the menu!

Visiting Mendocino Farms feels like visiting a Trader Joe's- overall clean with very friendly and helpful staff. Which is also California based. This elevated sandwiches and salads restaurant is right off the 1 on W William Cannon. I have been here a couple of times and this location has consistently excellent service and food. Enter and turn left to order. I love their digital menus in front of the registers because squinting at menus on screens behind registers is so 2024. The menu is right sized- enough variation for all diets and doesn't overwhelm with too many choices. Staff wear their favorite dish on their name badges and are happy to share recommendations. The Baja salad and Thai mango salad are *chef's kiss* and my current favs. I don't even need the dressings. The happy hippie sandwich is a quite saucey if you get it to go, get extra napkins if you're a car eater. The vegan banh mi, while not served on a traditional baguette, is a damn.good.sandwich. The fountain lemonades and green drink are delightfully refreshing but very sugary. Two roomy restrooms are in the back right to wash your hands before eating. It gets busy here at lunch but you can order in advance for pick up to shorten your wait! I used a BOGO coupon in person once and appreciated how smooth and seamless it was to redeem. I literally just handed it to the person at the register. Excellent fast casual eats and vibes.

Fresh, fast, and healthy - Mendocino Farms (MF) is my kind of quick service restaurant concept. While I'm a North Austinite, I often pass through this South Austin neighborhood on the way to the Hill Country, so I had to stop in and check out this first Texas location. MF does California-style sandwiches, wraps, and salads with highest quality seasonal produce and proteins. If you know, you know. The west coast does not mess around with their veggies; it's a feature, not an afterthought. Other offerings include flavorful sides, sauces, homemade agua frescas, juices, and fruit-teas. Their motto since 2005 is "Eat Happy" and they deliver on it if you like fresh, nourishing "real" food. Do yourself a favor and pre-order online. We had a free entree coupon ($11.40 value) after setting up a My Mendo member account earlier this month. It was easy-peasy to set up a group order, send the link to everyone, submit before leaving home, and saunter up past the 15 or so people in the line to grab our bag from the Online Order shelf system. We sat on the shaded patio to enjoy our delicious 1/2 sammy & side combos. Everything was just as wonderful as I'd hoped: tender, juicy slices of chicken breast, generous portions of juicy tomatoes, super flavorful spreads, fresh breads with excellent textures, and sides that were tasty enough to stand alone as entrees. That Greek Chicken Lemon Farro soup will be my go-to order forever. Indoor dining area has about 10-12 tables, most are 2-tops that can slide together to create space for a larger group. The patio has more 4-6 seat tables. There are 2 unisex restrooms. Decor is modern-industrial with pops of blue and green and lots of mascot cows. All around, a pleasant experience. Now I'm counting the days until the next location opens up closer to my office in November! A note on pricing: this place ain't cheap. MF has high standards for using clean, as-local-as-possible ingredients and they work with ethical suppliers who pay their workers fairly. All this translates to a higher pricepoint. Still, it stings to see a $3.15 charge for a single serving bag of chips - yikes! You can get discounts by signing up for an online account and taking advantage of $11.40 1/2 sandwich combos & other special deals. Went to the soft launch at Mendocino Farms which is a family oriented restaurant that specializes in creative sandwiches, salads and more take you on an unexpected culinary adventure with fresh ingredients and fearless flavor combinations. Parking was plentiful and when you enter you can place an order and the counter. The service is very friendly and accommodating and they walk you through the ordering process. The food was prepared quickly and brought to the table. There was both inside and outside dining options. I tried the Thai Mango Salad with chicken mango, ramen noodles, pickled daikon & carrots, honey roasted almonds, napa cabbage, kale, romaine, baby spinach, carrots, bean sprouts, Thai basil, mint, cilantro, lime, crispy shallots, Thai almond dressing. The salad was so fresh with a bright flavor with all the fresh herbs and mango. I love their craft made beverages that include unique lemonades like guava and pomegranate and mint lemonade. I have joined their rewards program on the app and also had some to-go experiences here where I tried the Chen's Crispy Rice Salad with tofu, rainbow carrots, watermelon radish, cashews, crispy rice, wontons, scallion, cilantro, romaine, kale, spinach, red & green cabbage, miso sesame dressing. The salad was packed well and dressing on the side so it was fresh when I ate it to-go. I also ordered on the app for their buy one get one special for national sandwich day. I tried the "Not So Fried" Chicken with chicken, Mendo's krispies, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, pickled red onions, herb aioli, on toasted ciabatta with a side of golden BBQ sauce and Chicken Pesto Caprese with chicken, fresh mozzarella, marinated red peppers, basil pesto, mixed greens, balsamic, on panini-pressed ciabatta. The sandwiches were pack separately and had very good texture and flavors. Sometimes they get busy when ordering to go, but the manager was able to expedite my order. I have to say that I personally prefer the salads to the sandwiches. Overall a welcome addition to South Austin with food made with quality and whole ingredients.

Fast service and fresh ingredients. But the turkey sandwich was a bit dry. I will try something else next time.

Is it terrific marketing or terrible planning to put MAD Greens in the same building as CAVA? I…read morefeel like the kind of people who are interested in a healthy bowl of nourishing food would be split not quite down the middle between both of these restaurants. Are they hoping the better-known Mediterranean bowl place will be so full they can catch their overflow? People in a rush might skip the line and try this less-known healthy bowl food restaurant instead? But I digress... I had tried CAVA four times or so and every time I saw MAD Greens and thought, Someday I'm going to try that place. Well, last Sunday was the day. I got to eat what I wanted because I was eating solo. I'm going all in on this trial run, I thought to myself, so I bought one salad for that day and ordered another to be my lunch the following day. I walked in and was the only customer in the restaurant. I was greeted warmly by the young man behind the counter, who called me queen and had no complaint about my asking for no tomatoes and the dressings on the side. I tried the Greek one and the sesame sriracha one. The place was clean enough and the employees seemed to be enjoying themselves, chatting and goofing off a reasonable amount. The bowls were great. I chose the Greek one first when I realized it had pita chips inside. It came with two dressings, the creamier of which was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. Confession--I am a recovering picky eater and I hate cucumbers, but I love sneaking them into my body underneath delicious dressings and salty kalamatas. The second day I ate the sesame sriracha situation. It had tofu, which tbh I have never successfully eaten, and it was really good. It reminded me of the paneer in Indian food. That salad had edamame too, so I was definitely satiated and I'm guessing I got plenty of protein. Overall, I will definitely go back. CAVA has had some consistency problems for me, as well as some of my favorite offerings being limited-time or seasonal (isn't it the worst when restaurants lure you in with seasonal offerings you can't count on?!), so I'm glad to have had such a positive experience here and I'm hoping they will be consistently good.

However, I must say that MAD Greens makes some MAD GOOD salads. My go to is the spicy bacon bowl with boil eggs. I feel better about my life when I order this because I'm getting my greens in, getting my protein with the chicken, and I'm actually enjoying my rabbit food (aka salad). This is a must have for me. Coming from a non salad person ( I know... it's okay to judge me) I really enjoy their salads and their spicy bacon bowl makes me happy. Another food item that I love is their Mac and cheese. It's so tasty. I love it here and love their salads because the greens taste fresh. #madgoodness

All of them were great! Hubby enjoyed the fish and chips and the spray bottle with malt vinegar! Such a fun touch, nice and crispy, and the chips were crunchy and delicious. I actually really liked my chicken sandwich. While it looks standard, it was such a good bite, super filling, and since gluten free, I got a side salad which was nice and simple and light. The Reuben was GREAT! I was so excited I could have it since on a gluten free bun. The corned beef wasn't super greasy or heavy or too salty which I really appreciated, and the aioli was great to balance out all other parts of the sandwich. The slaw, pickles, everything were all so good, and definitely worth getting in the future! And our kiddo demolished the burger in a heartbeat! Add some great service - super kind, funny, and made me feel so safe eating there with an allergy. He was great, and even though he was busy, he did such a great job coming and checking in! We also had a pint of Lazarus Rice Lager which has been treated and is consumable for those with a gluten allergy (not Celiac)! I love Lazarus beers so much, especially this rice lager! So light and perfect on a hot day! We would definitely come back any time! Defintely worth the stop!
