Was this slang for a food? Was it a food? She had no idea, and had no idea how to describe it other than it is "migas." Having not been to this restaurant for a very long time, we have it a try last evening and were pleased with the food. Orders are taken at the counter and then food is brought to the table by a staff member. I had the fish wrap which was crispy fish and cabbage wrapped in a tortilla. The spicy dressing really added to the flavors. My husband ordered the Strawberry salad but instead he was served the grilled salmon salad. A few things about this diner... Overall.. the food was good, even though one of my bacons was a little undercooked. We were basic in what we ordered, first time so we figure you cant mess up eggs and bacon and toast. The service wasnt.... Bad per sé, but they cant call themselves a diner when you order at the counter and then its brought out. It takes away from the diner experience and what if the service sucks? Do i ask for my tip back that you pre charged me? I ordered an a la cart pancake.. not bad, but, for 3$ for a 4 1/2 inch pancake, you can at least put a dab of butter on top and warm syrup... so not the case here. I had one of the WEIRDEST interactions with the staff that I have EVER had in my life, either as a worker or customer, it was on 4/12/2026 between 2-3 pm, I will NEVER go back, I always pick between this place and the other establishments in the strip center, this place is no longer in the rotation, I will spend my money elsewhere. P.S., your "manager" on duty should dress appropiately and not in a shirt from a drum shop, with a trucker hat on, that should of told me right away what to expect. Food was fine, but man, the staff, needs some training on how to handle simple questions from customers. The "manager" came out to talk to me, placed a chicken breast on a plate on my table, which was there for several minutes, he picks it up to take it back, I specifically ask him if he's going to put it back on the line to serve later. We ate here yesterday for a late lunch and enjoyed it. We were able to walk up to the counter and order immediately without much of a wait, which was nice. They then brought the food out pretty quickly too, and everything was warm. I got the build your own burger and it was delicious! The fries were warm and very good as well. 5/5. While I've been to Galaxy Cafe before , it's been a number of years since the last visit. My friend and I had a late breakfast before heading out for a day of adventuring around Austin. Both our meals were tasty and well prepared. Service was efficient and friendly. Ambiance was casual and comfortable. The thing that stood out to me was was how unrushed we felt. Wow wow wow wow wow. This place is outstanding!! First time I ordered I had breakfast, I got the Migas Breakfast and it was DEEELICIOUS, the migas were so perfectly done. They came with a side of refried beans and tortillas, although I don't think the tortillas were homemade. Didn't really eat the tortillas but I didn't really need them for my migas, and the migas were top tier. Only con is that I had added breakfast sausage to my Migas Breakfast for an extra charge and they didn't put my sausage with my food even though I was charged for it, DoorDash had to pick up their slack on this and thanks to DoorDash being so great, they more than made up for it. DoorDash shouldn't be having to make up for restaurants forgetting items paid for though, establishments need to do better on carefully reading and packaging orders. Food from here was outstanding though. I also got the kids breakfast with blueberry pancakes and skillet potatoes, the potatoes were so well seasoned and very good. Next time I ordered here it had just passed breakfast so I ordered lunch and dinner items. I got the Grilled Chicken Chipotle Wrap which was DELICIOUS. My side was sweet potato fries, the sweet potato fries I don't recommend unless you're dining in because they get cold very fast and just don't travel well. I also got the Grilled Chimichurri Steak Dinner with whipped sweet potatoes, which were so good and my steak was perfectly tender, very good steak. Only thing is it was more so medium rare than what I ordered which was medium, there was some blood on the container wrapper inside the box and the very center of the steak was pretty pink well red-ish, they needed to cook it just a tad more to not have the more red center and a more brownish pink than red. It's a super tender steak though no matter how it's cooked and very flavorful. I added the Pesto Pasta to the steak meal even though I already had the whipped sweet potatoes and both the sweet potatoes and Pesto Pasta were both good. It also came with a side salad. Now onto the best part even though all of it was yummy. The Chocolate Torte, oh my if this isn't the most delectable thing I have ever had. Do yourself a favor, if you order anything from here, make sure you at least get the Chocolate Torte, it is the best thing I have ever had. Photos don't do it justice. The Portabella wrap here was absolutely delicious. My mom ordered it and I ended up stealing half of it from her. The flavors paired quite nicely together. We also asked for some chipotle mayo to dip the sweet potato fries in. I would highly recommend doing that! The Brie sandwich did not seem to have much flavor to it and I was disappointed in it. The staff seemed nice, but there were quite a few staff members standing around that did not appear to have any tasks to work on. I can't be sure though. This restaurant was also quite dark. While I do not tend to have issues with this, it made it very difficult to even read the menu. I wish it was a little brighter. We ended up taking the menus outside so that we could read them. Overall, I would give this place another try. I really did enjoy the Portabella wrap and I'm sure they have a lot of other tasty items on the menu that I did not get to try. read more

I think prices are fine for the higher quality ingredients, and I prefer their lunch to their breakfast. I don't like the ordering at the counter and having to do everything yourself. To start, I was charged for a large chocolate milk and then told their only chocolate milk was a small box of the horizons chocolate milk after i was charged. How is that a large? I ordered pancakes with strawberries and my boyfriend ordered pancakes with bananas, they asked him if he wanted the bananas baked in or on top but didn't ask me. Food comes and my strawberries are baked in, without being asked, and I actually wanted them on top. It's not easy to find a restaurant who: - offers both whole, healthy foods while also offering comfort foods - a variety of flavor profiles and textures - is fast, casual and clean - has very friendly staff - is accommodating to babies and kids - is reasonably priced Ever since having my baby, it's been a struggle to find restaurants that offer healthy foods that are appropriately soft and safe. It's so surprising how many restaurants just don't grasp the concept of offering extra steamed veggies that are soft enough for babies to eat. Most of the time, I feel lucky to just get a couple slices of avocado. The Galaxy Cafe has been so refreshing in that respect. For instance, the Buddha bowl with a side of extra steamed veggies was PERFECT for my 13 month old. Extra soft roasted sweet potatoes, lentils, rice, mushrooms, grilled chicken cubes and sauce on the side??? And unsalted broccoli, cauliflower and carrots? Perfection. And great leftovers. We've been going to the Galaxy in South Austin for years now. It is a delightful lunch or dinner spot, that we've enjoyed several times over the years. Recently, we've experienced some not poor quality to-go orders from their establishment. However, with willingness to try again, we went for a late brunch this past Sunday in the early afternoon. We ordered the galaxy breakfast bowl and a build your own breakfast wrap. The breakfast bowl was a perfect harmony of flavors and textures. The lack beans and crispy bacon paired wonderfully with the tender potatoes and fresh spinach. The sunny-side-up eggs added a rich, creamy touch, while the avocado offers a smooth, buttery finish. The bowl was a satisfying, well-balanced dish that's both hearty and healthy. I got the wrap on a spinach tortilla with cheddar cheese, breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, spinach, tomatoes, and green bell peppers. They have the most delicious spinach tortilla, it is by far my favorite that I've had at a restaurant. The breakfast sausage added a hearty touch to the wrap mixing well with the cheese and veggies. The only negative I have about the wrap was that their was an odd amount of liquid escaping from the tortilla as it was consumed, I am assuming it was from the runny-ness of the eggs. I've become so addicted to this place that it's not even funny. We've ordered about 5 times in the last 3 weeks! However my last experience solidified why I will continue to be a repeat customer. My husband and I have been trying to incorporate more plant based meals into our diet so we come here to get the Galaxy Bowl (because I need the protein) and the Roasted Veggie Bowl for my husband (he's trying to be 100% plant based). Well, today I placed my order for pickup (using GrubHub) and when I got the order I realized it was correct but I offered the wrong thing It was completely my fault, but I really wanted (and had my mouth set on something else. I went in and explained that I meant to order the Zoca Bowl (can't remember how to spell it) instead of the Roasted Veggie Bowl (I told you I need protein).
