Great spot! Fried rice, golden noodles and drunken noodle were all on point. Cute atmosphere too and great for kids.

I've wanted to try this place for a while now but I rarely find myself in the area. Needed to scoop up a dresser we found on marketplace so I ordered to go. We went in to order because we needed to use the facilities, and the service was so good. The gentleman who took our order welcomed us in as well. I just rode 30 miles with it in the car with us because we live in Lockhart now. Anyone reading this looking for the next hot Asian market please come to Lockhart!!!!!! We need more Asian food out there. We got the crab Rangoon - beautiful and delicious. They were so good even after about an hour or more between restaurant and eating them and that says a lot. Bf got the shrimp Thai fried rice and said, "I wasn't sure what to expect, but that $&@! was delicious!" I got the Tom Kha with chicken and it was very tasty. The Jasmine rice actually comes with it which was so awesome because normally you need to order it separately. Our lunch was delicious and we will definitely be returning!! read more

Roses Kitchen is a true hole in the wall gem of a place. I'd been looking for a good Thai restaurant farther south Austin and stumbled across Roses. We ordered a couple plates, but my favorite was the pad Thai. The portion was very large and I could've easily eaten it for a couple meals. Our server was kind and attentive. They also have indoor and outdoor seating. Support local! read more

Amazing Thai food! The fried rice was so flavorful and the sweet Thai sausage was good, which I haven't seen before at some other Thai places. The pad see ew noodles were chewy and again, tons of flavors. It's hard to describe but I feel like other Thai places just have fewer notes of flavors. read more

I came here hungry and sat outside, the music playlist they have is fire and the food speaks for itself, this is a hidden gem and the food is delicious plus the portions are generous. I'll definitely keep coming back read more

First off, as it's not super clear, be aware this is 90% outdoor seating and the kitchen is a food truck. There is a very small building with indoor seating, but it only has a restroom and a handful of small tables. I do want to give the benefit of a doubt as I was part of a fairly large group meet up, so some of the delays in service and getting food was probably due to the large number of people for a very small kitchen. I also 100% have to blame the meet up organizers for not letting us know it was outdoors! The place is BYOB although they do have a selection of bottles nonalcoholic drinks. Even though it was outdoor seating at picnic tables, there was one girl taking orders, and another guy delivering food, we did have to wait a bit for our food, but the point of the meet up was chatting and socializing so it wasn't a huge deal. The food arrived hot and was pretty good. My main complaint is that the portion seemed a little small for the price point, I got the Tom Kha soup and $13 for a pint of soup and a scoop of rice seemed high. The flavor of the broth was good but there were definitely more onions than chicken! That being said I liked that the spice level didn't seem to be lowered- I got a 3/5 and it definitely made my nose run a bit XD All in all I think to really get an accurate read I'd have to try again under more normal circumstances. read more

Ordered takeout and it was wonderful! I got the Chicken Pad Thai and it was incredibly delicious, despite it being a little spicy for my comfort! I only got the spice level 1 so keep that in mind if you're like me and prefer milder spice. I also ordered the Pork Satay and Siamese Cheese Rolls and I would 100% recommend those too! I can't wait to visit this place again read more

The drunken noodles were pretty yummy. The pad Thai tasted like it accidentally had 2x fish sauce added. The service was cordial and fine. It's a small house in south Austin, very casual, charming in a way. We tried to order 2 menu items that were not available. There's better Thai food in Austin in my opinion. read more

The food at this place is really good. It's a little hidden gem. The service has always been friendly and great. The ambiance of the location seems really cool. The red curry is my go to and the sticky rice is delicious. read more

3.5/5 stars for me. The papaya salad was way too salty. Drunken noodles weren't flavorful or had the umami flavor. The pork skewers were quite tough and the flavor was also lacking. The one dish that stood out was the pineapple fried rice but still not the best in town. I did like the sweet sausages. Cute vibes, plenty of seating outside. Service was good though. Our waitress was sweet. read more

Our friends wanted to eat here so we joined them for dinner. This was our second time at Rose's Kitchen. It was 90 degrees outside so we opted to sit inside the trailer hoping for AC. It was hot and stuffy in there and sitting outside may have been a better option. We brought our own wine and the waiter provided glasses. He was very attentive as we were the only customers at 4:30. The 3 cheese rolls ($5.99) were small, delicious, stuffed with cream cheese and served with a green sauce. Nice change from a regular egg roll. I had yellow curry with pork ($13.99) served with white rice. Overall, the dish had good flavor but the pork seemed a bit tough. Others had pineapple fried rice ($14.99) and said they enjoyed it. I think this was my last visit to Rose's Kitchen as I felt it wasn't a true restaurant experience but charged restaurant prices. read more

They've been in this location for 2 years and have recently opened a Thai cuisine restaurant on east slaughter. Definitely recommend. Everything we ordered was freshly prepared and tasted great. The papaya salad has a strong fish taste. As it should, but make sure you like that if you have a normal western palate. It was very good. I ate the entire order by myself. I had the pad see ew at 3 (of 5) spicy. I could have eaten 4 but I wouldn't have enjoyed it. If you're a white American who likes spicy food at a "anything a typical Mexican restaurant throws at you" level i recommend stopping at 3. I would have gotten the sticky mango rice but I was too full. I don't know why I haven't gone before but I'll definitely be back. Also, the owner was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. read more

Delicious healthy food. Love this place. The vegetables are tender crisp and fresh.

Everything was so good! Speedy service, friendly waiters, and the food was delicious! The veggie delight wasn't spicy at all and it was so fresh! Nice portion sizes. Then we had a dish where you could choose the spice level. We had level 1 (options are 1-5) and thought it was pretty spicy for being the lowest level, so keep that in mind! read more

Rose's Kitchen shows potential, but ultimately falls short. In true Asian family style, we ordered an assortment of dishes to share. We had the Siamese Cheese Rolls, Papaya Salad, Pad See Ew, Thai Chicken Wings and the Tom Yum Soup. The good: -The standout for us was the Tom Yum soup--it had the perfect balance of kaffir lime and spices, with shrimp that were tender and not overcooked. -The wings were not horrendous, I loved the crispiness of it, but wings served at an Asian restaurant should not be served with ranch... the sauce on the wings should do all the work. The bad: -The Pad See Ew had too little sauce while the beef was overcooked and chewy. Pad See Ew is traditionally served with Chinese Broccoli, but instead regular broccoli was used and put too much crunch/texture on this -The Papaya Salad was drenched in fish sauce and lime instead of delicately being flavored -The Siamese Cheese Rolls should not even be on the menu, as they were essentially just fried egg roll wrappers stuffed with cream cheese. -I didn't like how the food was served on disposable plates-- it didn't make the food any better or worse, but it didn't do the place justice read more

The drunken noodles are phenomenal! Thai fried rice was just ok. I would be very excited to try their pad thai if it's just as good as the drunken noodles! The spot is very hidden away, offers BYOB (!), is on InKind, and a bit of a funky outdoors spot. Definitely will try their spot off Slaughter and 35! read more

We were excited to find a local Thai place and we were wishing it would be great but were disappointed. First ... if you know the food is severely behind in the kitchen let the customer know. We didn't get our order for over 45 minutes but still hoped the food would be worth the wait with the good reviews. The salad was fishy and salty. I've had this item at many restaurants and this is the worst I've I had. Looking at the reviews it looks like they are not making the effort to fix this dish even though it's mentioned being too fishy and salty from different customers. The rest of my family had noodles and they didn't like it. We had requested spicy and none of our dishes were spicy. Why ask for spice level if you aren't going to make it spicy? Never coming back here again... read more

The food was good. Egg rolls were kinda on the small side. I asked for a side of chili oil. It seemed kinda off. My stomach hurt for the rest of the day. I would go again though, just no chili oil. Don't fault them for the presentation in the picture below. They thought I was getting my food to go, but I was actually eating it there. They brought it out in takeaway packaging, and then when they realized I was staying they brought out a plate for me. I'm the one who put it on the plate. I'm sure if they had plated it themselves it would've looked better. read more

We love Rose's and are so very excited to see this location transform! The owners are incredible - so friendly and WOW they make excellent food! Been on the forever hunt for good Thai food in Austin (which, is quite the hunt), and this place was such a slam dunk! Some of the other reviews mention it's difficult to find Rose's - not the case! They had a great sign and even string lights to light your way. It's a 1 way in, different dedicated way out for easy traffic flow with parking once you arrive. They are going to be transforming this location, which is so exciting! The patio is very welcoming, and they also have indoor seating. We dined in and were so wonderfully greeted and served. They are still cooking out of the truck until they get their new kitchen setup, but everything still came out fast and delicious and was brought right to us inside. It was a chill Saturday night for dinner, but apparently just the prior night it was packed with folks eating there before heading out for spring break. The food: GREAT! The pad Thai was some of the best you could ask for, and THE FAMILY RECIPE GREEN CURRY was such a great mix of warm curry, fresh ingredients, and flavor without being overly sweet. I asked for a "medium" spice and supposedly got it without any extra added & it was actually the perfect level of spice and flavor for me. Yum! We will be back to try some of the other in house favorites such as the burger (trust these people, they know MANY trades), the thai tea, and the desserts! read more

Always delicious, food made with loving human hands, delicious and nutritious... Can't believe they are not busier. Manchaca doesn't have very many good places to eat and this is my favorite hands-down If you like Thai food do yourself a favor and check them out! read more

I will start by saying I believe this restaurant has the capacity to be successful. What I learned is that they are in the process of opening a location in Buda which likely impacted my take out experience. The food had excellent flavor. However the rice was either undercooked or dried out from setting too long. Both the chicken and pork were dry which also points to being cooked and setting too long before it was added to dishes. So the freshness factor was definitely missing. I don't think the volume of food going out of this location is very high. Owner was there very friendly and helpful. I will wait until the restaurant in Buda is open before I give it another try. read more

Just left after paying 170 because we got double charged on in kind, if your going to tell me to pay on the app and the app has issues I understand, but when I show you my bank statement show you the monies been taken from my account and you treat me like I'm trying to scam you is insane. We ended up paying the bill 3 times tonight to be able to leave. This is such a bummer because we really wanted to like this place read more

I have been eager to try this place for a while as I've seen the great reviews and mouthwatering pictures of their food. I ordered delivery which I received through DoorDash. The food arrived piping hot. The Thai fried rice could have used more flavor, and the Pad Kee Mao dish was flavorful, but the noodles were stuck together, making it hard to reheat. The meat in both dishes was over cooked. The Thai eggs rolls were tasty, and had a nice crunch. I ordered the mango and sticky rice for dessert, which had too much coconut milk and the mango was too tart. Overall solid food. Would love to go and order at the location next time, but I understand that parking there is tricky. read more

It's used to be a food truck, they upgraded it to a restaurant now. It's a family owned business and they just moved in to the building so there's some understandable hiccups along the way. We ordered and it took 40 minutes for the food to come out. I hope the service will improve as they get the restaurant running. Fried rice level 3 spicy: it is spicy but tasty. As soon as the server brought the food in, the fragrance filled up the room. Siamese cheese rolls: crunchy and fresh. It's wrapped in rice paper and deep fried. Mango avocado rolls: it's light and refreshing with tons of veggies wrapped in a rice paper. Pad kee mao level 2 spicy: probably the best dish we ordered. read more

Make the time to come here! The Thai food is very very good. They also have salads, sandwiches, burgers and more. Their Thai dishes are exceptional. Fresh fresh fresh. For starters we had the brisket (!!!!) spring rolls and Chicken dumplings. Both delicious and the peanut sauce is outstanding For the mains, pad se ew and veggie delight were awesome with #1 heat. Heat is 1 to 5. Tasty flash cooked veggies and house sauces. Rose is a bubbly friendly owner/host/chef. So recommend!! read more

We did takeout from this place. We ordered a yellow chicken curry, red chicken curry, pad thai, fried rice, and cheese rolls. While we did takeout, the folks working there were very nice Even after a 30 min drive home all of the food was delicious! The sauce that came with the cheese rolls was perfection and the cheese rolls were still so crispy! For rangoon lovers, you would enjoy it! I just wished they would have had 4 or 5 rolls for the price. When I came home and opened the yellow and red curry, I could smell the distinct flavors of each curry. Some Thai places have the same base flavors for their curries, but this was not the case here. The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. As a pad thai lover, it was pretty good, but felt there could have been cilantro and peanuts added to it. The fried rice was a bit bland, but I'm thinking that may have intentionally been done so it takes the flavors of the curry a little better. I feel like there could have been some more soy sauce or seasoning to the fried rice because without a curry, it was a bland. I would still drive 30 mins for the food here because it was delicious! read more

Wow what a find right around the corner from us! Charlie had the Rueben with home made corned beef on marbled rye-perfect! I had the green curry and it's probably the best I've ever had! It was simply Delicious. I'd tell you otherwise if it wasn't. I ordered the Veggie Delight to-go. Chicken (or pork) is included in the price! The sauce was perfect, not too tangy or sweet. The vegetables were high quality. They'll ask for your level of spice which is a nice customization!
