We stopped here after shopping at the outlets on our way home from San Antonio, so we were tired and hungry! I found this place on Yelp and we both agreed that thai food sounded great. Cute spot in a brand new shopping plaza. We were seated right away and the restaurant was busy on a Sunday night! I started with the fresh rolls appetizer and my fiance got a thai tea. While eating the fresh rolls, I noticed there was a long black hair in them. We alerted our waitress right away and she apologized and brought a fresh order. No big deal. Then our entrees come - I got a stir fry vegetable dish and my fiance got pepper chicken with rice. Literally half way through eating it, there is another hair in his chicken. We were disgusted at this point. We got our waitress again and she took away the order and brought out a new one. She also gave us a small discount on the receipt. Update: that night I was tossing and turning and woke up the next morning in pain in my stomach. I have IBS symptoms from time to time and I think the spice was so much it aggravated my gut!! I was literally on the floor in pain and the rest of the morning had a burning in my gut. Again, someone who doesn't have IBS and loves heat could tolerate the curry probably but for anyone who has IBS or gut trouble I would definitely ask them if the curry spice level is adjustable. I had a craving for some Thai food and I found this place "Spoon+Fork Thai Kitchen". When you walk in you notice a good amount of seating and a wonderful staff that makes this place unique. This restaurant has a good selection of Thai food and sushi to choose from. I went with Pad Thai dish and was impressed with the flavor and the size portions are very good. I also had the "Crab Cream Cheese Roll" they come in four very delicious appetizers. Overall this is a great place great staff and delicious food. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I've been twice and I have mixed reviews. The first time I went I had the fresh roll and yellow curry dish. It was fresh and delicious. The second time I went I ordered the same thing, but neither dish was great. The curry was more on the grainy side. The fresh roll could use protein like shrimp in it. We ate here on Sunday evening and absolutely loved it! We were seated immediately without a reservation, which was nice. And Pom did a great job taking care of us as our server. As for the food, the shrimp appetizers were delicious! I really enjoyed my salmon in the grilled salmon salad, and my dad liked the grilled salmon terriyaki as well. My fiancé enjoyed her curry entree, and my mom liked her food too, saying it was five stars for the mixed vegetable stir fry and papaya salad. I am SO, SO, so happy to finally find a good Asian food restaurant in the area. I've long looked around Austin only to be disappointed. Heck, this is my favorite Asian food in Texas. Heck, it serves as a shining star for a much broader food category as far as I'm concerned. The place is in a new part of Kyle and the explosive growth going on. So, it's uber clean and new. The staff were all excellent and nice to interact with. The name of the game is the food and this is where it was just so good. I started off with the fresh spring rolls. Perfect fresh herbs and vegetables with a superb chunky peanut sauce. I can't wait to try some of the rolls. Next up, I passed on the ever present Pad Thai and went with Yellow Curry with Shrimp. That was a genius move! Though it was just random luck. The curry was a sublime coconut flavor with a hint of heat. Great veggies and a ton of crispy shrimp. Kudos for great location, surroundings and friendly service. It is difficult to reconcile some of the comments, however, as the food was anything but consistently good. An exception was the panang curry, which was delicious. The grilled steak salad was a profound disappointment. The "grilled" steak had to have been from a bag of frozen pre-cooked strips; it was greasy and flavorless. The greens seemed dumped from a bag also. If there was a dressing, it wasn't discoverable. Disappointing was the fact that the server asked no questions upon observing the untouched salad upon presenting the check ($80 for three guests). The fresh spring rolls were, indeed, fresh, but I wish they had offered the Vietnamese variety with a protein included. The sauce for the spring rolls reminded me of thousand island dressing (egad)! Where was the peanut sauce? Such a travesty. The vegetable stir-fry was okay, but not memorable. The tom kai gai was delicious, but the chicken breast pieces were tough and tasteless, as in most oriental restaurants that don't bother with any velveting. One happy note: The served complied without prompting my request for sambal (most often comes a blank look). Is this worth another visit to try more things? Indeed. We did DoorDash from the Kyle Spoon and Fork recently while I was in the hospital there. Their spring rolls are huge and fresh. Lots of veggies and a credible peanut sauce. We added the crispy rolls, which are close to a regular fried egg roll. They are small but piquant, with a decent red sauce. We added their steamed dumplings - chicken rather than pork. They include a decently spicey oil to pour into it once you bite off and end. All very healthy and appropriate (fresh for the spring roll, crisp for the egg rolls, chewy for the dumplings. And they warm ones were still warm when DoorDash de Liveried them. read more

Walking in, seating was a little weird, but the area was very well lit and clean. Service was prompt, menus in our hands seconds after we sat. The crab "rangoons" were amazing, and the two sushi rolls we got were top tier. Rice, fish, everything was fresh and tasted amazing. I'm sad it took us this long to try this place. I've always wondered why there aren't many Thai "fast food" style restaurants franchised like Panda Express or Timmy Chan. I was delighted when my friend introduced me to this restaurant. I didn't tell her that Thai was my favorite cuisine. This establishment did not disappoint. From the lovely and attentive service to the pleasant atmosphere of a clean eatery. I just knew the food was going to be on point. I was going to order my usual green curry, but my friend challenged me to sample something different. I wasn't going to say no, so I ended up choosing the Rama Long Song ($13.00) for my entree. Since I love fresh spring rolls so much, I ordered some to share. The spring rolls ($5.00) was tasty, but the peanut sauce was on point delicious. It was thick and not runny. It was a bit sweet and nutty but did not taste much like peanut butter. To keep it southern and Texan, of course, they had some sweet tea ($3.00) on the menu. The tea was sweet and concentrated. It wasn't overly sweet to where it tasted like Kool-aid, but just right. The main dish was out of this world delicious! I just wasn't expecting it to bring the kick of flavor like it did. It was prepared with savory peanut ingredients. The side vegetables were steamed with a bit of spices and the rice was cooked to perfection. It wasn't old rice and did not have any black slimy pieces in it (like at Kha Thai on Scarsdale Blvd). My friend tempted me to move to the area just so I could have access to this restaurant as much as I wanted to, but haha that's still in the decision-making phase. Went here on a Friday around 7:30ish got sat as soon as we walked in. The restaurant was very nice and had a cozy feel to it. The food was really good we got the pad Thai with chicken and beef, teriyaki chicken, and the lover roll. The pad Thai could've been a bit spicier but it was good nonetheless. The teriyaki chicken was very good as well. But the sushi was the star it was the best thing we had and would recommend the roll we had the Lover roll. The service was good and fast as well. Kyle and San Marcos can feel like a bit of a food desert compared to Austin. As you leave the city and head south, everything transitions back into barbecue and food chains, burgers and Chick-Fil-A's, so if you're looking for variety and healthy, your options are limited. But there is this place in the middle of the food chain desert. Very decent Thai food with several menu items having incredible prices compared to others. Vegetarian/Vegan options available. Is it fully authentic Thai style dishes or even street Thai? No. But they make good dishes here and they offer the public a bit of variety amidst the food chains. Sometimes I am in girl meal mode and I order a bunch of appetizers to go. My favorites are the fried tofu and the fresh veggie spring rolls. Mango sticky rice doesn't seem to be a an everyday menu item either. It's seasonal. I'm not sure why, but that was one thing I noticed as I love mango sticky rice.
