I have to start by saying thank you for coming to wimberley! I know we all feel that we are excited to have you here! We enjoyed the shrimp fried rice, crispy beef and Phoenix chicken! So much food so we had leftovers to take home. We had the pork egg rolls but they were not our favorites. Oh well no problem. All the food looked great and at 5:30pm it was pretty full! It's darker inside as the windows are covered with, wait for it, bamboo shades!! So cute! Nice bar area, though I don't think they serve alcohol yet. We've gone here several times since they've opened and each time we come away satisfied with the meal. We have trolled most of the menu and the food is pretty good by the time we get home and dig in. It's tasty, however the fried items are heavily fried & breaded. Which depending on my mood can be a great thing or not. Either way, it is tasty. We almost always get the pan fried dumplings and we universally agree that they are a treat. I would suggest on take out orders to double check because we've had some items not make the order. Not that they are any worse than any other take out, it's just noticeable after more than once. By the time you get home, way too late to make a return visit for one missed item. My boyfriend and I went Saturday for our first time trying Bamboo Garden, it was very good and filling. The portions were large each where we had leftovers. We could have split a meal. We each got a small soup ( I got the hot and sour, he got the wonton soup). The small bowls were normal size, hate to see the large. The only thing my Boyfriend said was his meal was a little too salty for his taste. He had to get a glass of water along with his glass of tea. We will definitely go back. WOW!!!! This place is AHHHHMAZING!!!! I can not stress this enough. The very first taste of Hot and Sour Soup blew me away!!! The pork egg roll was soooo good and is served with a yummy kicked up sauce. The Black Pepper Beef was out of this World! The beef literally melts in your mouth. It is so tender. Even the Fried Rice was delicious! It all had such a Homemade Authentic taste to it. Honestly, the BEST Chinese food I have ever had. Good size portions, and if there for lunch you get soup and an egg roll. Food is fresh and the seasonings are great.

I've done dine in twice and take out once. On the plus side, the portions are huge. The menu itself is kind of a mix between Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai. Based on the dishes I've tried, I suspect that Chinese is really what they know best. On my first visit I ordered the Pad Thai, but it was missing bean sprouts, green onions, and ground peanuts. And those are kind of essential ingredients for that dish. I see them listed in the description so maybe it was just a one time oversight? Two other times I've had the beef in garlic sauce, and on the plus side the vegetables all seemed fresh as opposed to canned or frozen. But especially on the second time I really thought the dish was bland and not flavorful enough. certainly no garlic flavor. My kids have gotten eggrolls every time, but on tonight's visit they were kind of lukewarm and definitely didn't seem like they had just been fried. Made me wonder if they're just buying previously made frozen eggrolls and then warming them up to serve? Overall considering a bill for a family of three, with tax and tip can get close to $100, it just doesn't feel like you're getting your money's worth, even with the giant portions. I feel like I should either pay less or get much higher quality But it is the only Asian game in town, so that does have merit. Maybe once they've been open a little longer they'll start to get a little better, so I'll probably try again in a month or so. read more

Restaurant was clean, but a little warm on a June day. Outside the front door, the was a hostess stand that says "please wait to be seated" which made it a little confusing about whether or not we were supposed to enter or wait outside. Came for the first time on a quiet Thursday for lunch and was greeted by friendly staff. The ambience was cozy and cool. This was the most delicious Chinese food I've had. Everything was insanely fresh, seasoned, cooked to perfection!!!! The egg drop soup was the perfect consistency, more substantial than run of the mill egg drop soup. The spicy edamame was spicy but not in a pure chili sauce way but we'll flavored! Atmosphere is calm and we did not have to fight the tourist crowd and were seated right away! ON A SATURDAY! Food was delivered hot and quickly! I ordered take out BBQ Pork Chow Mein......a dish i have eaten all over the USA all my life. I found the noodles very gummy to the point of non edible to my taste. I did eat the meat which was good. NOTE: The dish was hot.......... My wife had orange chicken and rice which was excellent!!! I only post this in hopes this is a one time glitch and that the owners will seek to address this issue. It was just OK. Decent enough for the area but the food was lacking flavor over all. Our waitress was attentive and very sweet though.

The food was fabulous! We had the chicken & green beans and wonton soup! The wonton soup is some of the best I've ever had. I only got a cup, but I couldn't eat it all, brought it home and had two more meals out of it. The chicken and green beans was delicious and the whole meal was quite affordable, given the current climate of the Economy. We didn't have any alcohol so I can't tell you how they are priced. The three of us who went to Bamboo Garden in Wimberley were absolutely delighted! The food was incredible, the atmosphere casual and comfortable, and the service wonderful. We drove from Dripping Springs to have lunch and were amazed at the amount of food in the lunch special. We definitely will be back and bring our friends. Been here a few times now, and normally the service has been good. Tonight. Whoa. I think our server was either high or slammed a few hot sake shots. His service was slow, and when it was time to leave I asked for the check and a to go box. My back was turned to the kitchen, but I was told he walked towards the table with the check and box half way there he stop had a blank stare on his face as if he forgot what he was doing then walked back to the kitchen with the check and box. Wimberley has waited for a long time for some sort of Asian themed restaurant and Chinese cuisine Bamboo Gardens does not disappoint. Waited for the rush of a new restaurant to die down and then tried it for a late lunch. Pan fried dumplings are solid. Casing is not too thick, good crisp on the bottom, good filling ratio and hitting all the right Asian notes. The Hot and Sour soup was hearty and packed a good punch, again a very solid rendition of the dish. My wife was pleased with the egg drop soup. Orange Peel beef (requested spicy) was excellent and the portion generous. My wife's beef and broccoli was well received and there was plenty of well cooked broccoli. Looking forward to adding Bamboo Garden into our regular rotation of local dining. Only complaint is the menu is lacking some staples, Mapo Tofu, eggplant with garlic sauce and red pepper chicken. However what they do offer they execute well. read more
