Delivery was really quick. Pho broth was hearty and authentic. My only reservations were the limited pho additions (cilantro, basil, lime). Pretty affordable also. Came back a 2nd time. You get one shot at ordering/refills/requests and that's it. Got the wrong drink, wrong order, chicken was slimy and rubbery read more

Stopped in for dinner with my daughter before heading home to Hutto. We ordered the Chinese egg rolls for appetizers. When you order egg rolls here you get the best most perfect egg rolls. These are the epitome of what an egg roll should be! My daughter ordered the chicken lo mien. Another dish that is pure perfection! I ordered the Pho, P-5. I was amazed at how delicious the broth tasted. Definitely one of the best beef Pho I've ever had. Service was great and very friendly. I definitely recommend this restaurant and can't wait to visit again. read more

Today was the last time I gave this place a chance. Absolutely terrible service. Pho is low quality too. Couldn't even eat my food from how bad the service was. Ended up leaving the chewy oily egg rolls and took the soup to go because I was tired of the lady's rude ass attitude. Better options in New Braunfels so save your money and make the drive to pho that is actually worth it and where you feel welcomed. They should probably take a business college seminar on customer service. read more

I knew I was in for a treat before I even walked into the restaurant. The smell of authentic pho spices hit me as I walked closer and closer to the restaurant. The gio cuon (spring rolls) were full of everything you expected and more. Most restaurants skim out of a lot of ingredients but Pho Tran gave healthy and balancing portions of veggies, noodles, and tofu (you can order it with meat). The pho (seafood bowl with chicken broth) was great and filling. Most restaurants have Americanized the dish but these was like home. My only complaint would be that there were not a lot of veggies (jalapeños, bean sprouts, Thai basil, and lime) offered. I noticed an extra charge for it on the menu so I did not request more. I'll return if I'm ever back in the area. read more

Legit for San Marcos. Broth was hot, broth could have been beefier, fattier, but it was tasty. Noodles had a funky chew almost as if stuck together. Good amount of noodles and broth, nice ratio. Meat didn't meet this ratio. Only thing is lack of meat, quite skimpy. Bro we're in Texas, where's the beef? Amurika!! read more

It's a toss up between this place and Lab C, but you can't go wrong with either Vietnamese place. Both Pho Tran88 and Lab C have their pros and cons, but Pho Tran88 is at least family owned and it's not just something they say but you can see and tell with your own eyes. read more

The service was so bad my friend and I went in there I didn't get anything she got pho she wanted jalapeños and chili sauce with it as well. We then both asked for extra jalapeños for her because she always gets extra and the waiter gave us an attitude and asked us why we wanted more. He procedes to say I'll get you more when you finish. She then asks for a to go box because she has some left she wants to take home, she had one jalapeño left and wanted more so she asks for more and he says well you have one more why do you need them. We explain to him further on and he rolls his eyes at us and has a big attitude there were two other costumers in there and they left because they saw how rude he was. VERY horrible service I am in the serving industry and I would NEVER treat a costumer like that no matter what and we were not asking for too much. read more

To start off the food is amazing but the costumer service is horrible. Didn't get a welcome nor did we get a thank you. After I ordered I asked if I could get more jalapeños to go with my pho and he said no you finish what you have first and I'll give you some then so when I did finish my jalapeños, I said can I please have more jalapeños he said for what I said for my pho, he walks off, shaking his head and doesn't say nothing. I had to then ask again for more jalapeños, and he went and put them on the table. This place should work on having better service towards there costumers. read more

Look...Texas and Louisiana Vietnamese people DO NOT PLAY when it comes to food. You can be shortchanged everywhere else in the world, but they DO NOT half step here. Making pho is a serious business. Anyway, the pho broth here tasted like it was 1,000 years in the making. It made me proud. And that was just the VEGGIE broth for the VEGGIE pho, y'all. The spring rolls needed help. I tasted no herbs and these were very simple with very little filling and no creativity when I've tasted more flavorful and complex rolls spring rolls elsewhere, but the main dishes are full of thought, ingredients and flavor. A fun date spot. Go to dinner here. read more

They were so rude. My toddler saw a picture on their door and begged to go get some. As soon as we walked in a lady aggressively stuck her hand out and yelled "STOP" and asked how many people would be dining in and said we would need to leave our compact travel stroller outside which is a request I didn't mind except she yelled across the store, made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome, and argued so we just left. Now we have a sad kid and a local restaurant we cannot support because they don't support families. Extremely dissapointed in the customer service as soon as we walked in the door. read more

Yelled at my friends and I as soon as we walked into the restaurant, and gave as attitude when we were waiting for a table. After ordering, they kicked out two of my friends that were sitting at my table because they decided not to get anything when we were all sitting together because they were "taking space". I came because I enjoyed the food but her reaction was entirely unreasonable. It was a disgusting display that felt like she was trying to embarrass us in front of the entire restaurant. The table next to us said she had said the same thing to them. I would have been a loyal customer if they weren't such dicks. read more

Pho Tran88 - I can't remember what is was called since I ordered off the photos on yelp - Vietnamese Near Me - San Marcos, Texas

When we first walked in, we weren't even greeted--not a smile, not a "hello," nothing. I was with four other women, and we all immediately felt unwelcome. The atmosphere was cold, and unfortunately, it only went downhill from there. The woman who appeared to be in charge was incredibly rude and unapologetic. When we asked simple questions about the menu, she acted as if we were inconveniencing her. There was absolutely no warmth or professionalism in the service. As for the food--bland doesn't even begin to cover it. There was no flavor, no seasoning, no color. It looked unappetizing and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. Everything we ordered was either overcooked or tasted old. It was honestly a struggle to get through the meal, and none of us finished our plates. We left feeling disappointed and frustrated. With so many great restaurants out there, there's no reason to waste your time or money here. I won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

I live in San Antonio but always make the drive to come here because I constantly crave this place--there's nothing like it in San Antonio. My husband and I visited this pho place on the square, as we were interested in a pho place that was so close to us. I ordered a shrimp pho, and he ordered a seafood pho. The seafood and shrimp were so unappealing and disgusting that I lost my appetite for a week. Anytime I got hungry, I was reminded of the utter rot and fishy tasting squid that genuinely made me gag. I don't know where they source their food, but Pho NB in new braunfels is way better. read more

Genuinely one of the WORST experiences me and my wife have EVER had. When we walked in they immediately looked annoyed that we were there, i said it was for 2 and she just pointed at the table and walked away. We order our drinks and then shortly after order our food, MIND U this is our first time here. They bring out our food and my wife tries her food and said it tastes old and it was rock hard, she ordered the orange chicken. We ended up just sharing the pho that i had ordered. Time passes by, no one came to check on us or refill or drinks or even ask if everything is tasting good, we were the only people in the entire restaurant. When somone finally comes up to our table we let the waitress know that we'd like this orange chicken taken off our bill and he brings who i assume is the manager over to our table. She comes up to our table and dead told my wife "i can't take it off your bill i didn't force you to buy that". Me and my wife were seriously at a loss for words, we just asked for our check and paid the tab and left. We will NEVER be coming back to this establishment and i highly recommend yall don't either. Me and my wife are servers and have been for many years and i could never imagine treating any of my customers like this it was genuinely so embarrassing for the establishment. read more

Affordable and tasty Pho place in San Marcos Coming from Vietnam, it's definitely not easy to find an authentic pho restaurant that suits my taste. But Photran88 is the only place so far that I feel is comparable to what you can find in VN My pho was a little shy on the beef but it was acceptable with the price. Great broth and good portion. The service is as good as an Asian restaurant can get. You're purpose is to come, eat the food and that's it. Besides the fact that this establishment is never following the DINE-IN hours listed, or the fact that pretty much everything tastes the same, that includes the old canola oil used to fry the wantons or the egg rolls or any of the 100 other items listed on a very confusing menu, this sad excuse of a place has undoubtedly made it at the very bottom of my 'Never again! even if this is the last place on earth' list, simply because of the terrible customer service, the lady was simply rude and not welcoming, placing an order with her felt like torture, couldn't ask her for recommendations, or anything for that matter, it was simply the worst dine-in experience of my life... read more

My friend and I needed a quick bite after tubing in the river yesterday. We had her dog with us so are unable to dine in at most restaurants. We figured getting spring rolls and eating it in the car would be the best option since she has a few dietary restrictions. My friend is allergic to soy so she requested fish sauce instead of peanut sauce (which uses soy sauce) and no bean sprouts. The owner was very reluctant to this request and gave us a bit of a hard time. She eventually said whatever and agreed. I thought it was pointless quarrel since they have plenty of fish sauce for their other entrees. I ordered spring rolls and Vietnamese egg rolls (6 count -- which I didn't get a photo of) but both appetizers were very good. The price was not bad either. I paid a total of $14 for both items. The rolls had plenty of shrimp and pork, the ratio of protein to noodles were good and price was great. The egg rolls were plump and juicy with perfect seasoning. Garnished with lettuce, cilantro, and cucumber. I would return based on their menu offerings when I'm in this area again. There is 2 hour parking on the street right in front of the restaurant. read more

As stated in some of my other pho reviews, I am a pho snob. I search for pho on a daily basis and go have it more than once a week. I was rather disappointed in the selection of pho restaurants in San Antonio, being that they were either bland, too small a portion, or just downright a salt mine. You would never really expect a pho restaurant to be a hole in the wall, but in my experience, the hole in the wall places are often the best. But perhaps hole in the wall may be a little too harsh. This place is nice decorated, has a nice waterfall up front blocking view from the outside. For parties larger than 5, this place may be cramped, especially when it's busy. But how can an amazing pho place such as this not be busy? On to the pho: Being Vietnamese and making pho, we pride ourselves in making the cleanest, clearest, tastiest broth. My initial surprise was that I scooped up a spoon of soup and could see the bottom of my spoon! That is a broth to be proud of! Often times, a clearer broth could spell a flavorless, lifeless broth. This is NOT the case. The noodles were nicely cooked, with not too much flop and not too hard, right in the middle. The meat provided in the bowl was satisfying. Whenever I am in San Marco and craving a bowl of pho, you know I'll be here! read more

The food was delicious! I had a gluten free dish and a Jasmine hot tea. Cozy place, every table taken and that's always a good sign! I will definitely be back! Food is an absolute 10! Closest thing I've had to Vietnamese food since I was in Vietnam. The pho noodle soup is amazing! I've never been disappointed with the way they do the fried tofu!
