Pho with wontons & bbq pork

The food is great. Customer service is awesome despite their dinner rush. Perfect cozy spot for a solo dinner. I've been frequenting weekly since I discovered this restaurant to try new items & they all hit the spot!

We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Rachel. She is hardworking and super kind. We have been here a handful of times and have never been disappointed. Our favorites are the crispy noodles and pad Thai. We were also given mother's day desserts and they were yummy. Pictured is the crispy bao cheesecake and the fried banana with ice cream. We absolutely recommend this place!

Drove by this place a few times, glad it came to mind for dinner. Very clean. Idk how new they are or if not they are very clean. Lady helping made us feel a little rushed. But food came out fast and good flavoring to it. I got "fried rice" but it was just yellow.....wasn't spicy at all for the general tso CS9. Good flavoring. Chicken pho was good as well. Seemed a little pricey. Nothing crazy . But worth it. I see us going back but just for a quick thing don't recommend for a date or anything special. Just a lunch or dinner.

i absolutely LOVE the brown sugar boba. i drive all the way from helotes just for this boba. another favorite is the strawberry milk tea.

The staff was really nice and the food was amazing. Best Pho I've tried by far. The lemonade was good too!

As we walked in around dinner time, we were the only ones there. The restaurant did not smell very good, almost like a sewage back-up. Decided to still give it a go. The food was decent- comparable to the other places in town. The vegetables were fresh and everything was cooked well. The service was also ok. The servers didn't seem like they wanted to be there and weren't overly polite, but they took our order, brought us food and refilled our drinks without prompting. Prices were comparable as well. All three of the Vietnamese places are about the same distance from our house, so I don't think I would choose this one over the others in most cases, but, if I lived in the Creekside area, I would just go to this one. Overall- nothing fantastic, but not horrible either. 3.5 stars would be an accurate score. Rounded up for new business grace.

I specifically went there to order the pineapple shrimp rice which was listed on their old menu online. It's no longer on the menu. Do I ordered the chicken stir fry and specifically asked if it was in the brown sauce. I normally expect the sauce over the dish and this was on the side and more like soup than sauce. The chicken has a good flavor. The celery is wilty and the onions are cut too large. Restaurant was empty when I went around 5:30pm for a to go order. The clerk was nice and the wait for the food was reasonable. Restaurant is tucked away so have to use a GPS to find it. Decor is kind of sterile and cold.

Service was on point! The ambiance is just what you want to enjoy your lunch or dinner. Free WiFi is always a plus. The robot is an added entertainment. But the food was Devine! I was told they had a new cook and were adding new items and a new lunch menu so I went with the lunch meal. The hot and sour soup (soup of the day) was amazing my husband's favorite. I will defend be returning just to try out each new dish! amazing hot and sour soup!

The grilled chicken summer rolls were the best ever!!!! Waiting on my pho I'm sure it will be equally as good. And yes it was.

Ordered the General Tso's & Broccoli Chicken. Since it was our first time here, we tried one of each of the options for available apps/sides. General Tso's breading was just OK. Came right off the meat once it cooled a bit. Flavor was alright. Broccoli chicken was good, good portion ratio of chicken and brocc. Egg drop soup was craaazy "dac" in vietnamese or starchy/overly thick. I didn't care enough to try and finish it. Wontons were good. Eggroll & crab rangoon was crunchy and crispy, both are safe option... but def smaller and disappointing for price. Fried rice surprisingly had no veggies or eggs or anything but had some good flavor. Not much wok "hei" or smokiness. There seemed to be plenty of seating, maybe 4/5 tables still occupied after lunch rush hr. We'll give them another shot for viet next time.

Barely any meat in the pho when taken to-go. the soup is not your typical pho, it was a weird variant and maybe i am unfamiliar with this style of pho, but it was truly disappointing. The serving size was so small for $20 per pho and it was $8 for 2 crummy spring rolls that had one shrimp cut in half for each spring roll. The other reviewer that said the peanut sauce was wack, was correct. it was not the normal sauce, it was some weird oil with peanut butter bits floating in it. The crab rangoons were not bad. I just really would not recommend this to someone who really loves pho." - I said this a month ago and took it down because the owner called to harass me questioning why I left a bad review. She called me 2-3 times at 9-10pm at night trying to get ahold of me. She left a voicemail saying she wanted to talk in person and explain to me the purpose of "tax" and "having to pay for bills." At this point I was scared and removed my review but let me just say, if I could leave 0 stars, I would.

We started we boba and it was decent for the price it was. We then ordered the shaken beef and it was nothing like owner photos which is misleading customers. The shaken beef had tiny nubs of poor quality beef, over 70% was veggies and it was sauced as if it was broccoli beef. It tasted okay at best but please don't market this as shaken beef. My wife ordered lemon grass beef vermicelli noodles they hosed the lemongrass after cooking it was unpleasant to eat as well. Maybe we messed up and should have got Pho? But why have subpar dishes in your restaurant... Oh last thing they have robots that bring out food from the kitchen but the waitress follows it and then serves you. It was awkward and unnecessary. I've been here multiple times and tried quite a bit off the menu: baos, bánh mì, bun bo hue, vermicelli, lo mein, pad thai, General Tso's, and rice plates. Everything has been typically solid, though nothing particularly standout. The flavors overall are a bit on the mild side, especially in the soups and meats, but the variety makes it a good choice if you're dining with a group or just want a casual, no-frills meal. It's kind of a "jack of all trades" menu with Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese options. One thing I do appreciate: they're very accommodating with substitutions and custom orders, and the service is always friendly. It can run a bit slow if the place is busy, but nothing unreasonable. Overall, not a destination spot, but a good local option when you want something convenient, comforting, and customizable.

We arrived at 4pm to meet my parents and the place was maybe a third full, happy with noise. It took a while to have anyone acknowledge our arrival and then another wait to have our drink orders taken and menus brought. Another wait for food orders and that's when three of us found out they were out of bread so the banh mi selections were not going to happen and we needed a minute to recalibrate. Ma and I noticed different things about the new menus. She felt they had a better (she even called it fancy) explanation of the dishes; I noticed the menu had been Americanized in a manner one might expect for Seguin. For instance, you won't find the words bánh mì anymore, they're just listed as sandwiches. There was only one employee on the floor tending all the tables, and she was doing her best. The food's still very tasty when it does arrive, which is why I'm still OK with it despite a couple rough spots. Mr R had his usual bun (giant bowl of rice vermicelli) which looked beautiful. Both my Midwestern parents chose chicken fried rice when their chicken sandwiches were unavailable--only ma took her leftovers home but they both said it was tasty and truth is the servings were sizeable. I went rogue and chose beef skewers off the appetizer menu, and they were delicious! The skewers came nicely presented and impressively charred. The beef was sliced thin and ribboned on skewers--since I wasn't sharing with anyone I ate them right off the stick and only made a bit of a mess on my shirt. The sauce was perfect and every bite tender excepting pleasurable little crispy edges here and there. Two guys came out front for a smoke break when a lull arrived and the remaining tables (including us) had been served. I assume it was the owner who came to check on everyone and apologize for the unusual wait as they were understaffed. I snuck Mr R a fifty which paid for most of the tab at the counter. When Mr R added the remainder and said to keep the change, he said the owner handed the entire tip straight to the waitress which was nice to hear. Seguin's not a town of adventurous eating so I hope this place keeps doing what it needs to survive and the kitchen keeps serving up the good stuff. If next time it's won back a star or two, I'll be thrilled to bits.

After landing in San Antonio yesterday to kick off my summer vacation, the very first thing I did…read moretoday was ask my friend to bring me back to this restaurant. The reason is simple: we ate here two years ago, and it left such a great impression on us that we had been looking forward to coming back ever since. Fortunately, not much has changed in terms of either the quality or the overall presentation of the food. Everything is still delicious, especially the Pho Combo. To be honest, it's far better than most of the pho we've had in Germany. That doesn't mean the pho in Germany is bad--it simply means this place matches my personal taste much better. As for the downsides, they're almost exactly the same as before. Parking is still a major challenge, and I understand that's probably not something the restaurant can easily fix. We also tried calling ahead to reserve a table, but they don't take reservations, whether you're coming with a group of 5-7 people or just 2-3 people. We arrived at 6:45 PM and still had to wait about 40 minutes before being seated, which was honestly quite inconvenient. Coincidentally, there was live music tonight, which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately, the sound system wasn't very good, so it was difficult to hear what the singers were performing. Then again, this isn't really the type of venue where people come specifically to enjoy live music, so most diners didn't seem to pay much attention to it. One thing I did notice was that either the kitchen has made a few changes over the past two years, or perhaps my own taste has changed a little. The food felt slightly saltier than I remembered, and the pho broth was richer and creamier. While that added some depth of flavor, it was a bit too rich for my liking, to the point where finishing the entire bowl of broth felt a little overwhelming. The braised short ribs were incredibly tender--so tender that a knife was almost unnecessary, and they could easily be pulled apart with just a fork. While many people would probably see that as a positive, I actually missed the slightly firmer, meatier texture I remembered from my last visit. That said, these are relatively minor issues. The quality may have dipped just a little compared to our previous visit, but this is still an excellent restaurant. If they can fine-tune those small details, it would easily return to being one of my favorite places. There's a good chance we'll stop by one more time before heading back to Germany.

Is it that time of year for another 1618 update? Absolutely…read more After my umpteenth visit, I think it's safe to say I've worked my way through almost the entire menu (minus a few noodle, chicken & vegetarian dishes). My 2025 review still stands, but after so many visits, I've noticed a few items haven't been good as they used to, particularly the chicken wings (and yes, all three of them). The Garlic Wings haven't been hitting quite the same. They've started to taste a little dry, and the saucier wings taste better the next day since they don't have time to steep through once served. The Filet Mignon Pepper Steak is still my favorite dish on the menu, but I still can't justify ordering it family-style anymore. It's delicious, but the portion just doesn't match the price. One of the newest additions--the Truffle Fried Rice is spectacular. It's light, not overpowering with truffle, and the fish eggs really adds the perfect little pop of texture/flavor. I don't think I breathed the entire time I scarfed it down!! 1618 is still one of my favorite restaurants in Austin of all time, but I think it's time for the menu to elevate a bit and dive deeper into less mainstream Asian cuisine. If anyone can do it, 1618 can.
