Service is where they really shine. The front is run by just two women, Ang and KK, who somehow do it all--turning tables quickly, checking guests out, and still managing to be attentive and kind throughout. It's efficient without ever feeling rushed. Yes, it's a bit of a drive out to Universal City for us, but every visit ends the same way: full, happy, and already planning the next one. How soon? They have fried rice, a variety of noodles including Pad Thai, Red Curry, Panang Curry, Beef Salad, Laarb, Papaya Salad, Green Beans, Stir Fried Eggplant, Cream Cheese Egg Rolls, Fried Chicken, Tapioca Pudding and Fruit (Oranges). This Thai restaurant is the best bang for your buck that you can find offering a lunch buffet 11am-3pm (roughly $16). Dinner à la carte is from 5-8pm. The pad Thai and noodle dishes could be better quality-wise, but still good for buffet style. The papaya salad was so so good. It was the perfect combo of sweet/tart/savory/spice that I kept going back for more--it's super addicting. Plates are cleared quickly, and it wasn't crowded at all. I saw that new items were being cooked and replaced those sitting out for a little bit. Super casual setting, with plenty of open seating. I was craving Thai food so I tried the dinner at Thai O Cha. Just like the first time, the service was great and I felt comfortable eating in the spotless dining room. I ordered mini spring rolls, laab with pork, and crispy pad Thai. The mini spring rolls came out quickly and were crispy and delicious. I had the laab medium spicy and it was absolutely delicious and refreshing. I have to say I was not a fan of the crispy pad Thai and they were kind enough to remove it from my bill. A nice neighborhood place that's larger than it appears from the outside. There was plenty of seating and can accommodate large groups. While there is buffet it appears to be for lunch. I went with my daughter for dinner. We ordered baby spring rolls as an appetizer. Nice crunchy bite size portions. I ordered green chicken curry medium heat and my daughter ordered pan woon sen chicken. My spice level was good, I'm so glad I went with medium or I think I would have been miserable. I'm used to eating spicy but like to taste what I'm eating. The pad woonsen was a tad sweeter than what I'm used to, but still good. read more

Nice little family-owned Thai restaurant for casual dining. They have a buffet during lunch but you can still order off the menu and they switch to only à la carte for their dinner service. Great and authentic Thai food for a good price. The workers sometimes are a little understaffed but they work hard to keep up with everything and provide great service. read more

I regret to make this review,I truly enjoy Thai ocha but I drove all the way from Helotes just to come and eat at Thai ocha and since they won't let out a statement or change the hours on the website or google (which mentioned it was open) and just to find out that it was closed until January 2025.They are also upping the prices to 15 dollars for the buffet. I wouldn't want anyone to deal with the same issue I had to go through and I really hope they add more dishes especially since they are upping the price. I am truly disappointed in the lack of updates on their part and hopefully they learn from this. I will be adding the flyer that is outside their door so that others can see the news and not have the same Experience as me. read more

Our family's favorite for Thai cuisine. Their buffet is not overwhelming with dishes, but just the right amount to satisfy your appetite. The dishes are prepared fresh and seemed to be always full. We went for lunch on a Saturday and all but 4 tables were occupied. The service is always very friendly and catering. The ambiance was perfect for a a large group or an intimate meal. Parking is limited in the front of the store, but there is a lot located behind the building. Will definitely be back! Enjoy! read more

It was not a national holiday and google told me this place was open. I drove 30 min just to find out they were closed for no reason. There was no note on the door telling the customers why. There was no business hours posted on the door. It is located in a very run down building and a sketchy area. Moved down to SA from the PNW in 2020 and have generally been disappointed with the Thai food, save for one place on Walzem and this joint. We were feeling lazy on a Saturday night (edibles will do that) and decided to try this place. We were not disappointed. Crab fried rice: Bangin', plenty of actual crab meat. Pad Si Ew: Perfectly balanced between sweet and savory, beef cooked perfectly, veggies crisp. BONUS: It reheated well. Rice noodles usually turn into a gelatinous, mealy pile of mush upon reheating, but these stood up. Makes me think there's wheat in there, but whatever. "Cheese rolls": These are actually crab Rangoon, revised to be like tiny cheese and crab egg rolls. Addictive and easier to eat than a Rangoon because it lacks the hard, over-fried bit of the wonton wrapper. I loved these. Potstickers: They were deep fried. I prefer them pan fried, but they were still delicious and gone quickly. Green curry with chicken: This was my jam. The curry was rich and deeply flavorful, and they included eggplant in theirs which I LOVE. A bit hotter than most places' baseline, but I wasn't complaining. If I had to give any constructive feedback to this place, it would be to rinse their rice a bit better and/or mind the cook time. Both sides of my white rice were a bit clumpy, but once the curry hit it, it broke up nicely. Otherwise, huge fan and will be going back. read more

I hadn't been here in a while and I had heard that their buffet was to die for. Quite simply, it IS to die for. I avoid buffets. Usually it consists of copious amounts of sub par food. Everything I tasted here was delicious and unfortunately so good I went for a second plate . I haven't had better Thai anywhere. This was my first time eating here. I ordered to-go. It was super easy to order online off their website. I ordered the papaya salad, snow rolls chicken with peanut sauce and the pad kee mow chicken. My 2 year old and I loved the noodles. I also enjoyed the snow rolls. As for the papaya salad it was a tad too salty for me. I have had papaya salad a few times before at other places and homemade. I know it is supposed to be salty so next time I will omit the dried shrimp and salty crab in the salad. The salad had lots of tomatoes and peanuts, which I like. Next time I will order medium spice on the noodles and papaya salad. I ordered all the dishes regular spice today as this was my first time eating here. Thai O Cha is just outside of Randolph AFB and is located in a little strip mall. Very unassuming when you arrive, but the inside is very nice and clean. I called ahead and ordered a bowl of their Thom Yum Gai which is a Chicken & Lemongrass with mushrooms, tomatoes and cilantro. The young woman at the counter was so friendly and quickly got my order out from the kitchen and in my hands! The soup was SMOKING hot even after a 5 minute drive back to my hotel. When I opened the to-go container I was hit by the most amazing smell, but the taste was even better. Yummo! Also, there was SO much chicken in the soup, it definitely was a meal!
