Overall, this restaurant was great! With plenty of seating, there is no need to wait to be seated. I walked in the door, was greeted, welcomed, and told to have a seat right away. It took me less than a minute and I knew what I wanted. I ordered my food and in less than ten minutes I was eating what I ordered, tasty and freshly cooked. While the brisket on my Pho was not the most tender I had, the flavors were there! The seating area is clean, you have the option to sit looking at a TV where they show many of their plates if you are not sure what to ask for. read more

Restaurant: Pho 4 Star What We Ordered: Large Vietnamese Egg Rolls PW5 Combo (Thập Cẩm) Mango Sticky Rice A-List Take: The food was the star of the visit. The pho was flavorful, the meats were tender, and everything tasted fresh. The mango sticky rice was absolutely delicious and ended the meal on a high note. The large Vietnamese egg rolls were crispy and flavorful, but I was surprised they weren't served with a lemon wedge, which is something I usually expect. The PW5 Combo listed bean sprouts on the menu, but they were missing from the dish. While it didn't take away from the overall flavor, I do think it's important for the dish to match the menu description. Service started off strong. Our waiter was attentive and checked on us regularly at the beginning of the meal. However, as our dinner progressed it became difficult to get his attention when we were ready for a to-go container and the check. Would I Order It Again?Absolutely. The food alone is worth coming back for. I'd just hope for a little more consistency with the menu items and a more attentive finish to the dining experience. Final Take: Great food, especially the pho and mango sticky rice. A few small service and presentation details kept it from earning five s, but it's definitely a restaurant I'd recommend. I guess it matches its name (4 s). A-List Rating: (4/5) Until next bite... this is A-List, keeping it deliciously honest. read more

The reason we had stopped in the restaurant was because of the name - but the reason I'm leaving a review is because I thought the food was great. Everything tasted well, and waiter was consistent when it came to Refils on our drinks (what more can you ask for) If you like Vietnamese food, definitely give it try, I am more than sure you will leave satisfied. read more

This was a very disappointing experience. I ordered Pepper steak w/fried rice. I specifically asked them to minimize the amount of peppers in food. I got home & realized plate was 95% peppers & 5% meat. The fried rice had no color to it and no vegetables. I also ordered their Fried Chicken wings. The chicken was not fried well. The skin was soft & soggy. I had to fry it longer once I got home. The food was overpriced. I will NOT be returning to this restaurant! read more

We had a great time, the pho broth was delicious. My sister in law got chicken and I got brisket, we both loved our pho. My brother got the beef stirfried rice and wasn't a fan of the beef but the rest was good. My husband got the chicken and egg stir fry and loved it, kiddo setter on dumplings and loved them. Well, we found the Pho to be good. Everything else was subpar at best. We ordered a sesame chicken, veggie pho, spring rolls and egg rolls and a side of noodles. What is the sesame chicken at level four spice and it had no spice at all. The fried rice that came with the general chicken was dried out with no flavor. Overall, I do not see me going back. read more

Pros. Our wait staff was great. They were really professional and kind. There were two gentlemen serving us. The decor is nice. Restaurant seems clean and well managed. Menu is very diverse with lots of options including many vegetarian dishes. Red curry is delicious. Pad Thai is great as well. I liked the tofu and vegetable rice plate but the tofu was a little dry and not the best. Cons. And these are small complaints. Seating is a bit uncomfortable but I understand they are trying to fit in many tables. The restrooms had one single stall for each men and women. I could see that being an issue during a rush. Overall you could go here often and have new things to try each time. We had a pleasant dining experience and recommend! read more

Pho flavor was actually good, however the meat was not fresh, I set the crusty meatballs aside but still ate my brisket. My husband got the combo and ended up taking out all the meat. Well... I was clenching not 5 minutes into our drive home unfortunately and yes, thanked the Lord I had a bidet! haven't had that experience in a long while, so you choose ‍ I did visit on a Sunday so maybe things just weren't fresh. read more

Ordered the lumpia for delivery. Supposed to come with 12 but only got 11 instead. Okay, that's fine. Now for the taste. Doesn't taste anywhere near authentic lumpia that I've tried. I couldn't tell if the meat was too minced, or if it was overall just salty. Small, over priced and tastes off. Will be trying another place for a lumpia fix. read more

Ambience 4/5 Not a bad place, a really cute we decorated place that definitely gives a pho/Vietnamese restaurant + Christmas Texan vibe! There is plenty of parking outside ! Very clean place Service 4/5 The people were very nice and our waitres checked in on us but for some reason we had to wait really long time far order to be taken. And the food it took a little bit longer as well compared to a lot of other pho places I've been to. Food 4/5 We ordered the pho combo and the pork and shrimp vermicelli and got an ORDER of egg rolls for checking in on Yelp. I gotta say. These egg rolls SAVED ME. They were the star of the show!!!! The pho was pretty good, large size and pretty flavorful soup. They were also generous with the noodles. Their soup was made with more star anise than the ones I'm used to in Cali but overall still very yummy! Now something to know about me is thst I always get vermicelli wherever I go to eat at a Vietnamese place and this was a bit disappointing. I got the spiced pork and the shrimp vermicelli, literally came with two shrimp. Overall wasn't as flavorful as other places I've been. But the veggies were generous and fresh! If you do decide to get this, PLEASE get one with an egg roll if you come here. Overall betweeb a 3.5 to 4. Leaning towards the latter due to the service and the egg roll! read more

I ordered a Combination Pad Thai with beef, chicken, and shrimp, and it was absolutely horrible. The shrimp tasted rancid, and both the beef and chicken had an odd, unpleasant flavor that made the dish inedible. Out of concern for food safety, I threw the entire plate away. When I called to report the issue and ask about a possible refund, I was told I would need to drive back to the restaurant and bring in the food--despite already explaining that it had been discarded. The manager insisted that no refund would be considered unless I returned the order. I've been a customer for quite some time, but this experience showed a complete lack of care or accountability. Expecting a customer to transport spoiled food back to the restaurant is unreasonable and disappointing. I would have expected better intentions toward loyal customers, but unfortunately, this experience has made it clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority. This will be my last time ordering from here. read more

I ordered Com Lemongrass Chicken and VN Eggroll. It came with vermicelli noodles under the chicken. My issue and the reason for 3 stars is, NO lemongrass or lemongrass flavor was on the chicken at all. It was a basic wok cooked chicken with green onions on top. Even the sauce to drizzle over, had only a hint of fish sauce. I keep fish sauce in my refrigerator so I doctorate sauce. I didn't, however, have lemongrass!!! Pretty disappointing. read more

The menu is so vast that you can come in everyday for 60 days and have something different. This is probably our 10th time and we seem to gravitate to our yummy and delicious selections every time BUT today we chose to try the Bun Rieu Crab Meat Noodle Soup - wonderful broth, tender shrimp and very tasty crab cakes. This is certainly a restaurant for adventurous eating experiences. As always, service is always attentive and courteous. I do like the dessert offerings on the menu as well. Plenty of parking and easy access from the street. Quiet enough to carry a nice conversation. We love watching the cooking channel aired on their tvs read more

Ordered from menu lunch, pointed at the beef rib bowl, which very clearly showed $12.99 Food was good, service was good and I was amazed at the portion. Then check came...27 and change....what the heck. With a $3.99 small non refillable lemonade I was at $32.....bait and switch. Fine. I even tipped correctly on the actual bill amount. I had been there before. But I assure you, I will not be back. and everyone I work with right down the road will know how I was severely over charged. I paid what you billed. So I took the high road. But you will pay in lost revenue every time I tell the truth about what happened. I am sad they had to play games. I could have pointed out the mistake. But I honestly don't think it was. You know you're handing someone a $32 lunch bill for 1 person. read more

My parents and I have been coming here for years. It's great to see this restaurant become progressively busier over the years. They do stay busy with takeout orders and dine in, but they are quick to get people in but still provide great service. We never feel rushed and all the servers we have had are great. We've liked everything we have ordered. The large VN Spring Rolls are a MUST. We get them every time. Pho and Vermicelli Bowls are great. Last night they were pretty busy and they usually only do Bánh xèo on Monday and Wednesdays. Luckily they were able to make some. It does take extra time so if you are ordering it just be prepared. I believe they quoted me 30-35 minutes and honestly I don't know if it took that long because I was enjoying the large VN Spring Rolls and catching up with my parents. read more

Lunchtime Chaos !!! So the upside app recommended this place and saw good Yelp reviews. Well this is a good and bad review. Walk into the restaurant at 1pm thinking I missed the lunch rush- only to encounter the chaos inside . Took them 5 mins to sit me and then as I sat at the table and after each worker looking at me at least once - I was approached 12 mins later . The waitress was so stressed out she barely could talk since there is no busboys d the wait staff cleans up. Since I had plenty of time ( sarcasm) to decide and now thirsty as can be , I immediately gave my order. Didn't get my tea til I got my food , 5 mins. Not once during my meal was I checked on , brought extra napkins , or refill of my tea. So plain and simple - the service is 1 star and that only because they are polite / sweet. Now that the bad review is nearly complete.... THE GOOD POSITIVE VIBES! Food temperature and taste were great and tea was refreshing. Lunch portion is like a dinner portion , so don't see anyone complaining about not being full. Hopefully if I do return , the service can match the food. read more

I came by here in search of good pho after having moved in from another state. There were multiple places that I had tried, but a lot of them fell short and did not have the flavor or flare I was expecting from a Vietnamese restaurant. Cue Pho 4 Star. I came in the first time to try out some pho and spring rolls, which is my usual order at any given Vietnamese restaurant. The broth was great, the noodles were nicely cooked. However, the spring rolls left a bit to be desired. At my original regular restaurant I went to, I got used to spring/summer rolls have pork and shrimp. The lack of this option (being that you can only select one protein instead of two) kinda put me off from it. Thankfully, they offered the Nem Nuong Cuon, which is a type of Vietnamese sausage that I love. There is a great selection of food choices, even with some Thai food. Despite being named for a pho restaurant, there is a lot of Asian choices for everyone to choose from! So I would say something along the lines that I'm a weekly regular. I come here about once a week, usually on my days off to have some pho. And all the times I've been there, the food has been great. I will continue to go here. read more

I came here during an off time, probably around 3:45 pm for a late lunch. We ordered the vegetable pho and the vegetable fried rice. The fried rice was my favorite from the two. The pho broth wasn't really hot, it was lukewarm and that causes the noodles to not be fully cooked or at least the way I enjoyed it. I would definitely like to give them another try. In my opinion, two people can eat from a bowl of pho and like 3 from the fried rice plate but then again I'm coming from DC where portions are never like this so I'm sure my Texan family would disagree with me. What I'm trying to say is these plates are full sized and will fill you up. The customer service was good also and my dad says this is the only place in town he will get pho from. The prices are pretty good especially for the portion of food you get. Since not all restaurants do, I wanted to share that they do have public restrooms that were decently clean and do not have paper towels. read more

Pho 4 Star has long been our go to place for delicious pho, a solid bahn mi, and just overall great food. Recently I noticed they were selling house made kimchi, chili oil, and kimchi style daikon so I picked some up and just...WOW! The kimchi blows anything you can buy off the store shelf completely away! I tried the kimchi style daikon and it is sooo good. It's more mild and has a lot more sweetness which is so refreshing. If you're stopping in definitely don't sleep on the little refrigerated shelf they have near the entrance for some of the best kimchi products you can find! read more

Best place for Pho in Universal City, best place to go since we moved here to San Antonio I would go every day if I could!

Service was quick friendly and assured me through door as at this time I'm on crutches. Food was fresh and hot to the order. My sister had the veggie pho she said her broth was fresh and ( in her picky opinion best she's had in San Antonio. I definitely recommend this place for a good bowl of pho! I order my usual pho with an order of summer roll. The broth is flavorful and noodles cooked perfect every time. The brisket meat option is ok. Not as tender as I'd like. But the fried tofu option is good. I tried their thai tea and it's decent. I think it's just a bit too milky for me but I'm sure i can ask for less cream next time.. The ambiance is dim and relaxing. Place is clean. Staff is friendly. read more
