Ordered from this place via Uber Eats many times, mostly mediocre but not much else is around here for Asian food. Today was the absolute worst, $48.61 wasted!! Bought 2 orders of chicken pad thai with extra beef. Order came 1 regular portion, 1 half portion. The mango and sticky rice looked like a hot mess, and the sticky rice is super dry with (get this) pad thai sauce mixed in. The reason is the bag got delivered with orange pad thai sauce all spilled inside the bag, and collected a pool of sauce at the bottom of the bag, which explains why some of it got in the mango and sticky rice. I assumed the Uber driver messed up and maybe a sharp stop sent the bag flying in the car? Nonetheless, it is the restaurant's responsibility to pack it in a way that could seal the food well. Plus the driver had nothing to do with one pad thai order that was only half portion. Money lost, lesson learned. Never again at this place! read more

Today I made an online order and it took me about 1.5 hrs to finally pick up my order. Upon arrival the woman behind the counter was surprisingly rude and anxious about the possibility of being stuck with prepared food, as she, I assume, was telling the owner/manager when I arrived. As I stood in front of her, while in the phone, she without reservation said, "She is here...I will handle her." WOW! So much for social etiquette, as she proceeded to reprimand me about the order time, then hand me a flyer demanding, as if speaking to a child, I call next time should I be so late. My son and I went there yesterday and we loved it! My son had just come home from 8 months in Thailand and said the food is very authentic. He had a curry dish (he's vegetarian) and I had the pineapple rice dish with chicken. I chose medium heat. It was delicious! They gave me a generous portion so I took the rest home and so far, I've gotten 2 additional meals out of it. The staff is so attentive and personable. I ordered chicken pad thai and my boyfriend ordered the massman curry and egg rolls. My pad thai didn't have the classic thai flavor you would expect and the curry was more of a soup consistency. I wouldn't suggest this place if you are looking for classic thai, but if you'd like to try a different flavor go for it! The one thing I will say is that my boyfriend bought the egg rolls for $9.99 and there was a picture next to it with what looked like 5-6 of them but when we got them, it looked like they took 2 eggrolls and cut them up into 8 pieces. The food lives up to the name--tasty! They are very accommodating in preparing dishes for a vegan diet. I highly recommend Tasty Thai!

We walked in about 50 mins before close, it was quiet and empty, and we felt we should probably leave but they kindly invited us in and told us to pick any table! It was thoughtful and attentive customer service the entire visit. We hadn't eaten all day and went big for dinner. Chicken Satay appetizer was smoky with a sweet peanut sauce and a tangier cucumber sauce. Red and Panang Curry entrees w/ side of rice. Curry was spicy, savory, and traditionally tasty. And sesame chicken (if I recall properly) on a bed of veggies for the table. Everything was hot, fresh, and quickly prepared. The space is bright and colorful, clean, cozy yet spacious. Suffice to say it's also authentic! We found ourselves coming in on what I believe was one of the first few nights of Ramadan. It was decorated subtly in celebration and was very beautiful. What drew me to Tasty Thai was it's halal status: that's right, Tasty Thai is zabiha halal friendly! I believe it's the first of its kind in San Antonio. The people are sweet, our server kept a smile on his face for the entirety of our visit. Food was quick! We were in and out of there in an hour, and we ordered quite a few dishes for our party of 5! & for ambiance, I would say it's similar to other hole in the wall restaurants, with an added touch of flair near the front desk! Food itself was average, to decent, to pretty good depending on what you get! I wouldn't say any of their dishes were bad, but know what you want! My family had the mango sticky rice for the first time and they loved it! For me, I would say the favorite dish of the night was the chicken pad Thai! Visited on a weekend lunch. The service was not the best; our waitress was on the phone with someone while taking our orders and was not attentive. The vegetables were not fresh. Looking for a new place to try and this restaurant online. Read some of the reviews and thought to give it a try for lunch. The menu is very extensive with mostly Thai and sushi but there were a few Chinese and Vietnamese dishes peppered throughout. My husband ordered the potstickers and healthy soup to start. The potstickers were ok; the sauce was a sweet sauce instead of the typical soy sauce type. I tried the healthy soup and it had great flavor! It was low salt and heart healthy with chicken meatballs, tofu, vegetables and vermicelli. The menu says their pad thai is the best in town. I tried it with crispy duck (additional $4) and my husband tried it with shrimp (additional $3). Honestly I love duck and it's hard to find it done well. The duck was top-notch! The pad thai was delicious with a spice level 2. It was a huge portion as well. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because of the server. Sometimes, I wish that there was an option to give a six star review. Because my goodness, Tasty Thai blew away my expectations. A group of friends decided to check out this place after driving by it a few times, and satisfied doesn't even come close to describing how we felt at the end of our meal. Between the eight of us, we ordered: panang curry, red curry, green curry, pad thai, pad se yu, tom yum soup, and a whole bunch of white rice. And we loved EVERY, SINGLE dish. I personally could barely stop to breath in between my bites of the panang curry. The combinations of flavor and spice in each entree had us devouring everything with no leftovers. The tom yum soup was also a huge fan favorite; the lemongrass flavor and mushrooms really stood out and brought the whole dish together. Aside from the food, the service was extremely top notch. Our waitress was super super friendly and personable, and she made great conversation with the whole party. We were also celebrating a friend's birthday, and the restaurant allowed us to bring in cake and provided us additional plates and silverware for the occasion. With the amount I paid for I should've gotten way better quality, a small amount of curry juices and it didn't state rice was included so I paid an extra $1.00 for a scoop of rice. Both scoops of rice were very small. I left a tip when I wish I didn't, if you do not have the proper ingredients you should NOT be accepting orders to sell to paying customers. We usually order the Pad Thai mixed with beef and chicken and and the Pad Woonsen with chicken and it always has great flavor and big portions so we always have lunch for the next day.
