Not enough to dip the food in and left the potatoes extremely dry. The trinity sauce level 2 lacked flavor and any sort of heat. Well this was a fun adventure. We came as a group and I had never been to a place where you crack open your own seafood. Our service was kind of slow overall, it was hard to find our server so our meal was on the slower side, but the people watching was good. Half of the food at our table was good. The kids loved their cheese burgers. The pastalaya was good and the lobster roll was good. Sadly the other of half of our table their boil was over cooked. To the point we could not peel the shrimp. Wow! We love seafood boils and my mom wanted to come here for an early Mother's Day dinner. The food was AMAZING! We did the trinity seasoning number 1 spice. Our server Jessica was fantastic and also gave the trinity #2 spice on the side for me to up my dipping. She had great drink recommendations with the spicy marg and spicy Bloody Mary. My dad liked the Étouffée and his head off shrimp side. Great experience. It was a little loud but people were enjoying this DELICIOUS meal! Plenty of seating. Earlier this week, we went to @smashincrab Stone Oak for dinner. Happy hour with food and drinks end at 6pm on weekdays. Dad and hubby had their flavored Lemonade, and I had the Signature Margarita on happy hour. Dad and hubby shared a bowl of Clam Chowder. Dad had the Cod Fish & Chips. Hubby had the Crawfish Etouffee. The wait time was unacceptable. We had a member of our family who is handicapped, and we needed a table near the door. They had several ready to go, but we were never seated. In fact, several groups after us got seated before we did. The restaurant was decorated nicely. Several TVs were on, and I could watch the football game, which was nice. We started with the calamari, which was very good. It tasted fresh and was nicely breaded. My kid liked the corndogs and fries. I ate Bayou Bread. The flavor was good, but I probably won't order it again. The sandwich was yummy and crunchy on one side and soggy on the other. It was described as a grilled cheese with crawfish. Again, excellent flavors, but soggy. Our dessert, however, was phenomenal. We ordered the beignet fries. They came out fresh, covered in a caramel-type sauce and powdered sugar. These were so good. Update to my previous review. Forgive me because I thought i had updated this already. Me and my friends really enjoy coming here. Its best to eat in so everything is piping hot when you get it. We have consistently good service and the place is welcoming. Building your own boil is where its at. While seafood can be considered a luxury, it doesn't hurt to treat yourself every now and then. The flavors are on point and the seafood is cooked perfectly. They often run specials that give you more bang for your buck. How could crawfish season be in bloom but this place served me the smallest crawfishes, where the meat literally comes out smushed, and discenergrated in my fingers . When I asked the waiter he said that maybe the cooked over cooked it bc this batch literally came out from the truck today. I was so disappointed. Food: When we got there they were out of crawfish and sausage. I got the shrimp and cluster boil and the crab cluster was very small and the shrimp was overcooked and crumbly. They "cooked" it up a second time because when they gave me my bag it was missing the corn, the potato and egg (No sausage so I got an egg). But when I got my food back it was cold except for the stuff they added and somehow had LESS sauce than when they got it out of the bag. So apparently they boil everything and then throw on the sauce because inside of the food had zero flavor. It LOOKS like it gets cooked in the sauce because of the bag but I guess that's just what they dump it into and shake it up with the sauce. It was not worth $24. The trinity sauce was good and for someone with a high spice tolerance a spicy level 3 made me sweat. The mango tea was good too. Service: Our waitress was Bri and when we walked in she asked us if we had ever been there before and my husband said no. And then she kind of just stared at us and I thought she would explain the menu but she didn't and just said "yeah I know the menu looks like a lot I can give you more time to look at it if you want me to get your drinks" so we figured that out ourselves. Every time she came up to us was an awkward time and it seems she has trouble gaging the customer needs and interacting. My husband drinks his tea quickly and he only got 1 refill. We went here on New Year's Eve for dinner and we were so disappointed with the quality of food we received. It had been a few years since we ate at this location and we were expecting the same great experience, especially for the price we pay. I ordered 3 snow crab clusters, 1lb of shrimp head on, and 1lb of clams. The boil came out and all of the crab was still cold. I asked the manager if he could take it back to heat it again, which he did and was apologetic for. As I was eating, I realized that about 80% of the clam shells were empty. The shrimp I received was also incorrect as I was served shrimp head-off and already peeled... almost like it has been someone else's shrimp and then thrown into my bag. I was very disappointed. My husband had also ordered snow crab and dungeness crab, all of which was also cold when served to him. One of our favorite places to go to grab some seafood and drinks. We love to go during happy hour as the drinks and food are the same size yet under half the normal price. All of the margaritas are great but the prickly pear and mango are amazing. We tend to get one or both to go in a quart, which makes 4-5 small glasses when ice is used to take home. It's a great value for the amount you get and the quarts only being around $15. Service is always pretty quick and the times when it is busy, you can grab a drink at the bar and wait. The only problem is the inside floor seems to be very sticky most of the time and the bathrooms are trashed most of the time. Bayou bread sandwich is good, it is very messy to eat as the sandwich is falling apart, cajun fries as a side are good. All the seafood boils are good and I love spicy foods but the heat levels get extremely hot. If you want a normal amount of heat (compared to other seafood boils) get a 1 or 2 heat level. 3 and 4 might still be enjoyable but your mouth will hurt after. Anything higher is too hot to even enjoy the seafood let alone taste it. The heat levels also don't seem to be perfectly consistent on every visit. So just play it safe your first visit is my advice. The crawfish fries appetizer is also great. It is a pretty loud environment during peak hours. But the staff is nice and attentive. read more

There was a 20 minute wait so we sat at the bar to have a drink while waiting for our table. The bartender was friendly, polite, and knew her job. I was craving crab or a lobster roll and decided to hit up This Smashing crab which is tucked away in the stone oak area. It offers a nice outdoor seating area under a couple shade trees. Which would be great during the summer. I ordered the lobster roll to go as I was needing to get home. It took about 10-15 minutes before they brought my food out. I got home (10 min drive) and found that the fries were pretty soggy which was disappointing. The lobster roll was fairly good, it was basically a piece of Texas toast with a nice portion of lobster nestled inside. The lobster had a decent taste with a light Cajun seasoning which looked like the same seasoning on the fries, for which I only ate a couple because they were soggy and cold. The price for what i got was a little high in my opinion but, I'll definitely try the place again when I get the craving and this time, eat in vs take out. read more

I had to find a bartender. I ordered a spicy margarita and had to send back ... too spicy. The regular margarita was from a mix...disappointing. We ordered happy hour appetizers.. jambalaya balls, bouidain balls, fried okra and fried calamari. All frozen and deep fried. The fried calamari was not calamari... the male staff, Said it was some kind of fish. False advertising. The okra were tiny. The jambalaya balls and boudain balls I could not eat. I'd never been to this type of restaurant before, that being the type where you get a boil and it gets plopped down for all to eat from. I gotta say, it was delicious! We got a boil that included crab legs, shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage. The flavor was amazing! The staff was polite and helpful. That kind of messy food goes hand-in-hand with a fun atmosphere. My son, 13, has wanted to go back to Smashin Crab for a while. He had chargrilled oysters in New Orleans this summer and loved them, and SC is the only restaurant in San Antonio, that we know of, that serves them. Unfortunately, they had no oysters, and our amazing server, Jessica, let us know they've been having trouble getting them. It happens. Still- service from Jessica was 10/10. She was rocking it. Plus, we were greeted nicely as soon as we entered and when we were leaving, multiple staff members thanked us and wished us a good evening. Now, to the food. The boudin balls are some of the best I've had, even rivaling Don's off I-10 in Louisiana. Myself, I'm not a big seafood fan but I occasionally like a little crab or lobster- not much else. I had the Lobsta Pasta, and for the firs time, I ate an entire lobster tail on my own. Normally, it's just a bite or two but I loved that it was grilled. The butter garlic was perfect for the lobster. My son loved his boil of crab and clams, and my husband enjoyed his Cajun Pastalaya . 02/2025 visiting from GA! This was a tough 4, maybe more of a 3.5. First off the vibe and staff were great. The seafood boil was weirdly different from what I am used to. There's no comparison. So first off the prices didn't match the quality or quanity of what was served. I made a bag with just crab legs, 2 low grade clusters( 33.42) , a piece of sausage(2.50),1 corn(1.55), and 1small potatoe(.55). And yes I ate it all, ion waste seafood. Would I eat a seafood boil from there again, absolutely not. They did have premium crab legs on the menu for 30.xx a cluster if you wanted to upgrade your crab legs. I'm guessing those may have been Tanner's. Your boil comes with very little boil, but you can order extra for a few bucks. Almost forgot, heads on all shrimp orders in boils. I would suggest offering heads off on at least one option. Was told it would b $6 dollars per order to remove the head. Come on yall, heads reduce the count served to customers so don't extra tax on the removal. read more

Let me start off by saying that the amount of food was a lot and if I had known that in the beginning I wouldn't have ordered so much, we left there with so much leftovers so I definitely approved the serving size, the spice level that we ordered was perfect for us and the Trinity sauce definitely amazing. Chicken tenders were really good and cooked to perfection, for the smashing trio appetizer, we chose the gumbo, crawfish etouffee, and red beans & rice it was delicious, but it was a bit salty. The chargrilled oysters were a little over cooked for me, and they were very small there was more sauce on it than it was the actual oyster, the crawfish fries were very good. Absolutely a must try, now the adventure of the sea really good and a lot of food sources perfect. Wouldn't change anything about it. Our server, Ashley was such a sweetheart, and amazing with helping us choose what would best fit for our party size. She kept checking in on us, asking us if everything was good and we didn't even have to tell her to bring us refills. If I was rating based on the customer service alone it would be a five-star. I had a great seafood boil this afternoon. The crab seemed a little bigger than usual which was nice! The shrimp, corn, and potatoes were also perfect.
