It's stylish without being pretentious, lively without being loud, and has a relaxed vibe that makes you want to stay for another glass of wine. Whether you're on a date, meeting friends, or having a boys' night out, the ambiance hits the right balance. The tapas are definitely on the pricey side, but the food is very good, the wine selection is excellent, and the service was outstanding. Everything we ordered was well prepared, and the staff made us feel welcome without hovering over the table. This isn't necessarily the place you go when you're looking for the biggest portions or the cheapest meal. If you love paella this is definitely the place. It may take 30 minutes for the paella but it is worth it. I often order the Arroz Negro. My favorite tapas is Panela 43 and the drink the Barcelona. However it took us forever to get our drinks and it took a very long while to even order our food not to mention that we never really got checked on. We love the bites and the vibe. Flamenco nights pair well with the white sangria and the appetizers. It doesn't hurt that they are a 5 minute drive from our home! The staff is always helpful and willing to offer recommendations. My wife and I like their paella dish. Smaller bytes are also fantastic. This place is a huge win for the area! We recently celebrated my birthday party and had Toro Kitchen cater Paella for the entire shindig. It went incredibly well and I will recommend using Toro to friends and family. My partner did most of the legwork on this one, but has stated that working with Keith from Toro was easy, and he was very helpful. I happen to have some inside info that my partner was very adamant that we have some adjustments, and that these requests were handled with absolutely grace and helpfulness. Finally, the food itself arrived right when we had requested and it was a huge hit. The Toro paella had huge shrimp and big pieces of seafood within well seasoned rice. The best parts were the somewhat crispy rice on the bottom of the pan. It was absolutely delicious and a huge treat. We had also requested a vegetarian paella as well, and this also arrived with everything else. This was flavorful and amazing. I would order this again even though I am not a vegetarian. As far as catering our event, I really cannot say what they could have done better. We had happy guests, delicious food and a lot of leftovers ( that I have since consumed). We have been going to Toro for a bit since we live in the area, and will continue to do. An absolute local favorite. read more

Came here for our anniversary night. We had a reservation and they sat us immediately once we got there. Keep in mind, it does get a little noisy so be ready to use your loud voice if you're going to be talking. They had a live band playing starting at 7 and they were phenomenal. Also the plaza is undergoing reno so look out carefully and follow their signs to find their entrance. It did take a while before the server greeted us ~10 min and for a while to get our drinks once we ordered. That was probably the only ding I'd give on this review. They have a tapas menu if you want to order a la carte and have a huge selection so you will not be disappointed if everyone has different tastes. If you're thinking paella, order early as it may take 30-45 min for it to be prepared. We started off with the mushroom and steak tapas. Mushrooms were bomb. They were cooked tenderly and really soaked in all the umami and flavor of their sauce which were a medley of garlic, olive oil and other spices. Steak was cooked medium rare to our liking and was flavorful as well. We ordered the large paella pan because why not. The toro classic had all the protein that we liked like clams, shrimp, calamari and chorizo and chicken. We left super content and brought some home for lunch the next day. Came in with high hopes since I'm a big anchovy fan and the tapas online looked great. Unfortunately, the anchovy toast was served on a thick, stale piece of basic white bread with a tiny anchovy and a plain sliced olive on top -- not at all what I expected. The meatballs were also dry and came with the same stale bread, and watching the sangria pitcher get filled halfway with club soda was disappointing. I truly hope they improve because the experience felt subpar compared to the expectations they set online. read more

I can't get over how amazing Toro was. From the service to the ambiance to the food. Everything was outstanding! We decided to take my stepmom here for happy hour, which features tapas and a bunch of different drinks. When we first walked in we were immediately amazed by the interior decor. It was so nice and modern and did a great job showcasing the overall vibe of Toro. They had their famous dry aged meats hanging up all over the restaurant, as well as liquor used as decoration. Our server and the bartender took great care of us. They were so attentive and made great recommendations. The drinks were delicious! We started out with Patatas Bravas, which were fried potatoes paired with a spicy sauce. I'm glad our server warned us beforehand and gave us the option to put the spicy sauce on the side, because it did have a hefty kick to it. The potatoes were well seasoned and crispy. We got some Calamares Fritos, which is their version of calamari. The octopus was perfectly cooked and not rubbery at all. The aioli on the side was amazing! Our personal favorite had to have been the Toro Paella, which was highly recommended to us by our server. It's their award winning dish and I can understand why. The paella was delicious! I had never had paella before, so I wasn't too sure what to expect, but I'm so glad we ordered it. It had a generous amount of a variety of proteins and had amazing flavor too. Definitely a must try! I wanted to highlight the service again, because I had mentioned to the bartender we were celebrating a heavenly birthday for our stepmoms mom, and she went above and beyond for us. They brought out a dessert with a candle, and my stepmom was brought to tears over the kind gesture from the staff. Amazing food and even better service. Really nice tapas bar with a gorgeous outdoor patio. The Rosalia cocktail is so good. It's like a Pina colada with lime. Both the fried cheeses are great - the goat cheese montadito and the liquor 43 panela. The stuffed dates and croquettes are also great. Classics like iberico ham, pan con tomato, paella. I'm a boquerones fan, so I got those but they just came on untoasted slices of bread that seemed unnecessary. I would have preferred just a little dish of boquerones by themselves. I also tried the potato salad with tuna, and didn't love it. Anyway, this is a great spot for groups. Great service, too. read more

Piquillos rellenos were okay as was the wine and the service was excellent but nothing was worth what I paid. I've traveled throughout Spain, and what stood out to me was how incredible the food was without trying to be fancy. It was simple, intentional, and full of flavor. This place feels like it's trying really hard to be upscale and "impressive," but the food just doesn't live up to that. It ends up feeling overpriced and a bit disconnected from what makes Spanish food so special in the first place. It's a reminder that "elevated" doesn't always mean better, especially when it loses the soul of the cuisine. Note to the owner: you don't have to cater to these rich stone oak residents to turn a profit. Go back to your roots and give the true Spanish experience, and success will come. read more

Ordered the paella for two and shared with a friend. It wasn't very good, too greasy and I would never order it again. My friend ordered some bread which looked like it was supposed to be French bread which should be crispy outside... it was stale. She also asked for butter to go along and was charged $1 for a sliver of butter that should have been part of the service. Another friend ordered hot sauce and was charged $2. On the other hand, service was good and waiting staff accommodating and friendly. The place itself was nice ...but there are others of this type that may consider that bread should be fresh and butter is part of the service if bread is ordered. read more

After arriving at 6:30 for their Ibiza Nights Masquerade Party, which was supposed to start at 7 PM, we ended up sitting at the bar, ordering drinks, and watching the bartender make my San Sebastián (Hendricks, cucumber, lime, and tonic) with Botanist, a cheaper gin. Had we not seen it, they might have passed it off (I doubt it, based on how well I know Hendericks), but the fact that they're even doing it is shady. In addition to the shady liquor switch, we were charged a "processing fee." That would make sense if we paid for our tab with a credit card, but we paid in cash. This place requires you to be on your toes to avoid being taken for a ride. I told someone who seems to be a manager or bar lead, and he made the excuse that it's probably because he was busy, as if pouring from one bottle takes longer than pouring from another. And if that's a valid excuse for swapping out liquors but charging the same price. A few minutes past seven, we walked out to their patio dining area to be seated and one of the staff asked a dark-haired guy who seemed to be in charge out there if we could be seated: "Is it 7 yet?" "It's past 7." "Well, they can sit down if they want to, but nothing's ready yet." If you're billing an event with a start time of 7, your staff shouldn't be installing a step-and-repeat AFTER 7. Nor should your staff be rude about seating people at the start time of an event for which you sold them tickets. We were seated, and our waiter, Adrian, brought us two "welcome drinks"--strawberry gin cocktails. It was refreshing, but other tablemates left them untouched because they didn't like gin. We were given tickets for drinks, but when we tried to redeem them, Adrian said the welcome drink was what the tickets were for. Around 7:55, we decided to take group photos using the photo booth they had (finally) set up. The same guy said, "You can't use it until 8." At that point, I was over this guy's lack of professionalism or sense of how to host an event, so we just stood off to the side and shot our own pictures. The Ibiza Nights menu was printed and on the table, but when we compared it to the regular menu, we found little to no difference. There certainly were no price differences; if anything, the regular menu had more to offer, so we ended up ordering from it. We all agreed that for the cost of the tickets, there should be a small offering of passed hors d'oeuvres or a discount on the tapas menu they were advertising. The ticket price seemed to only cover the welcome drink and cheap masquerade masks, which most people didn't even wear. The music was fine, very in line with what one would think of at an Ibiza night party. Three DJs switched out while we were there, and a live percussionist and saxophonist played along with their mixes a different times. There was a mix of formally dressed and more casually dressed people, and overall, everyone seemed to be having a good time. The food was what you usually order from Toro, the sliders and the paella loaded with pork were our favorite dishes of the night. I wouldn't pay for the Ibiza Nights tickets again (nor would anyone else in our party). The price of tickets on top of the regularly priced menu didn't make sense to any of us, and we asked ourselves throughout the night, "Why did we have to pay for tickets to this?" I think Toro would make more money by just hosting the evening and letting people come and go, instead of charging a ticket for a mediocre party. read more

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and guided to our table, where we met Adrian, our waiter for the night. Adrian set the tone immediately. His knowledge, confidence, and attentiveness far exceeded expectations--especially for a restaurant tucked into a strip center. With a special occasion in mind and a desire to fully experience what tapas dining offers, we put our entire evening in his hands. Drinks, tapas, entrées, and desserts--we asked him to surprise us with everything, and not reveal a thing until it hit the table. That first impression earned our complete trust, and he delivered. The tapas arrived in perfectly portioned sets of three, ideal for sharing. Each dish was a standout--the creamy richness of the goat cheese, the beautifully toasted bread, and the expertly charred meats created a balance of flavor and texture that kept us talking. Each of us had a different favorite, which says everything about the quality and variety. The experience continued with a traditional Toro paella that truly rounded out the evening--rich, satisfying, and authentically prepared. From there, Adrian elevated things even further with expertly served coffees and a sampling of desserts. One dessert, in particular, takes two days to prepare--and one bite of it nearly had me pulling out my phone to book a flight to Spain just to compare. It was that memorable. The cocktails from Bar 43 were equally impressive--both in presentation and flavor--standing out among many upscale bars I've visited recently. But the true star of the evening was Adrian, closely followed by Alejandro, the manager, whose presence and support were equally appreciated. To me, a great restaurant is like a three-legged stool--it must balance quality food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Toro Kitchen and Bar doesn't just meet that standard--it stands tall on all three. This was a premier dining experience, right here in Stone Oak. I left genuinely impressed and grateful. read more

Ambiance is great and service is good but slow. Not talking about food but getting your check and seeing if your food. My biggest pet peeve is when you ask for help workers acting like they can't hear. It's quiet and I'm audible. How don't you hear me? Food is good but expensive. Can't say it's worth the qty and price but food is good. Loved steak, burger and fries. Paella was solid. Not amazing but good. Give a 5 cause food quality is most important thing and this has it. We visited Toro Kitchen + Bar today for the first time, and we will be back. We had an insanely wonderful Montadito (Queso de Cabra Frito) and a tapa (Camarones Fritos) and a 1/2 paella Tor Paella, accompanied by a cava and an excellent tempranillo, and we left delightfully sated and excited to have found such an excellent restaurant. Service was timely and very professional, and our server Angel's recommendations were superb. Unfortunately we live more than a couple of hours away, so we can't come back often, but when we're in town, we will definitely stop by again. read more

We made reservations and when we arrived we were seated right away. They give guests a coat tree to hang jackets or purses/bags and I thought that was a great touch. The decor was endless bottles of wine on almost every wall! Our server was very nice and patient with us since we had a lot of questions about the menu being our first time visiting this restaurant. We order several tapas; solomollo, patatas bravas, champinones lugo, as well as a charcuterie board and paella. Everything was packed with flavor and tasted authentic. The ingredients were fresh and prepared with care and detail. The paella itself was a symphony of flavors and textures that offers a satisfying and memorable dining experience. In addition to the food, the service was awesome! We didn't have to wait long at all for the food to come out, it was perfectly timed. This is definitely a great spot for date night. The hosts were extremely unprofessional and dishonest. They quoted us a one-hour wait time in person, while the restaurant's own online booking system showed significantly shorter availability -- a clear contradiction. When we pointed this out and presented our confirmed reservation, the staff became confrontational and ultimately canceled it on the spot. To make matters worse, we received a cancellation notice with less than 25 minutes' notice for a table we had reserved in advance -- no explanation, no apology. This is not the kind of experience any diner should have to deal with. Save yourself the frustration: do not make reservations here. Based on our experience, they will not honor your booking and may cancel it without warning or reason. read more

The best part I had it all to myself today got some work done and enjoyed the atmosphere very much. They have inside & outside seating. Great happy hour. The sangria is like $11 a glass and the pitcher was $18 during happy hour and they packed up the rest for me to take The food was tasty, fresh, and packed with flavor. Ordered the hot cheese with honey. We had to send back as not that hot so got another order. We had some bread with it and was charged $3. It was ok. We got their famous Toro Paella for 1-2. This past Friday, we headed to @torokitchenandbar Stone Oak for dinner. They told me it's been about a month since their move from the original location to this new larger space in the same plaza. No longer are they next to Cuishe. We sat outdoors and the patio transported me to what I imagine Spain to be. Dad had Lemonade, and Hubby and I shared the pitcher of Red Sangria. They adjusted their happy hour from 7pm to 6pm and thankfully we made it. We had the Patatas Bravas from the happy hour menu. My favorite is the Datiles al Tocino & Queso (bacon-wrapped dates). We tried the Pulpo Al Ajillo, which was sliced tender octopus in garlic oil sauce. I wanted more bread to dip in the sauce! We shared the Arroz Negro, paella with squid ink. Everything was delicious! I really wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars because I think overall it's quite cool. Unfortunately I had to knock it down a few stars for lack of adherence to a severe allergy and delayed service. It did not seem particularly busy the night we went, but perhaps they were short staffed. The host seemed very overwhelmed but was nice. It did take some time for our server to come to the table and the table next to us had to pull someone as they had been waiting a significant time for their check. The slow service did not really take away from our experience because we had plenty of time to kill and we were finishing a bottle of wine. Regarding my gluten allergy, I probably should have called ahead as their menu did not demark any items as gluten free but I thought there were a few things that seemed safe. I informed the server that unfortunately the allergy is severe. He was able to point to a few things that might work but did not seem particularly informed. Unfortunately, one the items we ordered that was supposed to be customed made without flour was delivered to our table without the changes and I have been dealing with the consequences since. Due to the slowness of service, their error was not caught in time to take the dish back. We were not charged for it, unfortunately it doesn't take away the side effects I have. Came for a quick bite for dinner, and it was pretty packed. The indoor space is extremely small but has bar seating. The outdoor seating is really beautiful with the lights and fountain. The service was lacking though. It was hard to get our waiter's attention to order more, and he never refilled our water glasses. We also had to wait extremely long to get the check and to get it back The food was pretty good! We had 3 tapas and enjoyed them all. The stuffed pepper with goat cheese is filling and really tasty. If I could, I would give this place six stars. The food and service were both amazing. My fiance made reservations for this restaurant. We got there at the time for the reservation. I did not have any issue finding parking. We got into the restaurant, and my fiance gave her name for the reservation. Unfortunately, they did not have us on the list. Apparently, the reservation was made for Toro at another location. The person who checked our reservation was very nice about it and was able to get us a table and even called the manager of the other store. My fiance and I were originally seated a four person table that was by the kitchen door. We asked if we could be moved to a two person table that was closer to the window. The server had to double check the reservations but did say that it was okay for us to move. I felt they were very accommodating to us. They might not always be able to be so accommodating because the restaurant did get busier later. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. He was able to suggest which tapas and wine would pair well with the paella that we ordered. Just a note, the paella can take 30 to 45 minutes to come out. They have a good selection of wine to drink and tapas to eat while you wait. The tapas and paella were delicious. After we finished eating we decided to get two orders of The Original Carajillos. You can get it either shaken or flambe. I highly suggest that you get it flambe. They put on such a great show. I can't recommend this place enough for its great food and service. read more
