A great marg on the left. A barely ok one on the right.

I feel I was back in the olden days of the hoppy monk! Service was very attentive. The food was delicious, the cauliflower wings came out crispy and with a kick, just like back in the day. And the margarita took me back to 2022, when they were strong and delicious and dangerous, and when I had my first date with my now mainest girl. I'm hoping it stays this way as this is what made me fall in love with the hoppy monk. THANK YOU, Monje Lúpuloso!!

We stopped by the other day to meet up with a customer friends to gab, have snacks, and drinks. It was a beautiful evening to sit on the patio, but y'all, it's still freaking winter so enough with the spring chatter. End gripe. Ordered the cauliflower wings, some guacamole, fries, mocktail-margarita, margaritas, beers, and an assortment of other drinks. After sitting outside with no service for a bit, we asked someone for help and eventually had a really great server that was witty, attentive, and had our orders in and out timely. My only complaint was that we didn't get any plates or enough silverware. I'm also not sure that anyone asked though. So we ate on napkins. Resourceful. My mocktail-margarita was incredible. It was reminiscent of the first time I had a margarita here. It was fresh, flavorful, with a hint of citrus that pairs so well with the tajin room. Just delicious. Next up the cauliflower wings. I've ordered these before and I've liked them, but on this night, the kitchen was on fire. They were perfect. The were spicy, tangy, crispy. They were so good, we ordered a second for the table. They may be my new go to. The guacamole was so good as well. I don't think I've ever ordered it. It was fresh and flavorful, but the chips were inconsistent. The first one I had was crispy and great, the second was chewy and tough. The third one got stuck in my throat so I gave up. The fries were greasier than we like, but they were completely consumed anyway. So, bottom line, order the cauliflower wings. Also, decided I have to always add that they still don't have elote fritters back on the menu. *Cries*

Hemingway daiquiri

This bar is located in a stone house with high ceilings. It's the type where you sit at a table, and the server comes to you, so the vibes felt very formal. They have a large selection of beer as well as other drinks. I got the honey pear cider, which is a yummy cider that came in a tall glass. My friend liked her margarita that she got from a pretty extensive margarita menu. They had a late happy hour with a small menu when we came on Tuesday that starts at 10pm, so we both got the Hemingway daiquiri. It was very strong for a small glass, and the grapefruit taste was not bad. My two drinks came out to about $15.50 plus tip. I was so surprised that they stay open until midnight on weekdays because there were only about 3-4 other customers there after 10pm with more staff than customers. The service was kind of slow, which we noticed after we had empty glasses for a while, even though there were so many staff hanging around. I had to go up to the bar and ask if they could refill my water. They have a sizeable parking lot.

Beer Braised Rabbit Tacos Dorados

Really cool place, loved the ambiance and the vaulted ceilings, but the food was just alright and the service, although friendly, was a little slow and not as attentive as we would've hoped. My bf and I both got their rabbit tacos and found them to be a bit lackluster. The most disappointing thing was the hard shell tacos that were more chewy than crispy. We both agreed they would've been a lot better if they were more like traditional street tacos with a soft tortilla (corn or flour). It also might have been the first time I've had rabbit meat, but I couldn't distinguish a distinct flavor! I'd go back to try something else, but you may want to pass on the rabbit tacos. Way too expensive for just mediocre food.

Awesome and spacious place for all sized groups!! First time being here and the service was great! They have such an extensive menu of drinks, from beer, cider, wine, cocktails. service was fast and did not have to wait long for our drinks, even though it was packed! bathrooms were clean, and there was also an outdoor patio that was very spacious. parking is supe reasy. really really like this place and will definitely be back. I also liked how they have reverse happy hours on the weekends tarting from 10pm!

My first meal at the Hoppy Monk left me, well, not Hoppy. I'm sure they prefer I take a vow of silence instead, of posting this review, but a few things needed to be said. We came here on a Sunday night because it is pet friendly and it popped up on our radar. The outdoor area is casual and was fine for pets, which initially gave me false hopes for the night. We ordered the Monks Meadow Salad, the Thai Chili Ribs and Wild Fish and Chips to share between me and the wifey. The salad and veggies were the best part of the meal. The protein portions were a huge let down. The ribs lacked any real flavor that resembles a Thai Chili or Spicy Tequila sauce. It was dry and bland. Icelandic cod is a favorite of mine for fish and chips, but this version was just below what I could find at a Long John's Silver. Sometimes the tartar sauce can save a poorly prepared fish, but in this case, no such luck. It was watery and tasteless. Even the friendly waitress was not enough to salvage our experience. When you factor in the added petty charges to our bill for sauces and subs, plus the 5% credit card fee, it's obvious we won't be coming back to give it another try.

Great lunch spot ! Yes this is a bar, but with really delicious food ! The service was exceptional! The server was helpful and made sure we had our water filled asked if anything else was needed- great service! This place was not too busy I was there in a Friday 2pm and it was not crowded- but if you come back in the later hours there will not be any seating available. Great spot for catching up with friends and just to have a quick drink or bite to eat

Nashville chicken and waffle sandwich & fries

I've driven past this place a few times and finally decided to try them out for brunch. Parking was easy and it was fairly empty. With the weather being so nice, the outdoor seating was perfect. My husband ordered the brunchwich and I ordered the Nashville chicken and waffle sandwich. He really liked his sandwich, and I agree it was tasty. Probably what I'll order next time. I had high hopes for my chicken and waffle sandwich, but unfortunately it was pretty basic. The waffle was cold and bland. I was also told by the waiter the sandwich would be a little spicy (which I was hoping for) but I couldn't pick up any hints of spice at all. The chicken was really good and the dish looked pretty so I wanted to love it. But that waffle really just muted the flavor. I think this would probably be best served side by side instead of as a sandwich. And with a HOT waffle. Unrelated to the food, I was annoyed with the parents that let their hoard of children run around and climb on tables the whole time we were there. If you want to let them run wild then take them to a park, not a bar. I don't blame the restaurant for this, but still annoying to deal with. The brunchwich sandwich was good enough to ensure I'll be back to try a few other things.

Awesome beer selection. Love the quality of the drinks here. The Martin house true love is an absolute must. Can't go wrong with a raspberry sour (patiently awaiting the day that they distribute to California ). I remember liking the cauliflower wings more in the past, but they were still good. The ranch, on the other hand, phenomenal.

Another wonderful stop at The Hoppy Monk. I had a couple of German Pilsner beers on tap, and also a dinner of awesome Blue Crab Mac & Cheese skillet. Waitress Erika took care of my visit to perfection. I will return soon!

Been going pretty often for the last couple months. Vibe is really laid back. It's a great place to grab a cocktail and chill for a few hours with your friends, ya man or your lady. The scene is very diverse too which is pretty cool, usually means the drinks are quality and the environment isn't geared to a specific age group. Just people who love chill vibes, a beverage and some bites. Me and my man go brunch hours on the weekends and sometimes after work during the week. Happy hour all day Wednesday. Tequila Tuesdays. It's pretty nice. Have a big patio space, and all seating indoor is FCFS. I love that they have Caipirinha on the menu, if you read my reviews you know that's my SHIT! but for some reason I feel like they fill that up with ice. It's not consistent enough for me to get every time. I've since switched it up. New your sour is perfection. Gold rushs are pretty fire. The Mexican mule is delicious. They have a pretty good cider beer too. I love that they have more food than just bar bites. The Dutchess burger has to be one of the best bar burgers I've had. The Gochujang CAULIFLOWER is my go to. A must try. Even over the actual wing itself. I can eat me some mf cauliflower and that sauce is addictive. I haven't tried their fish and chips yet but that's a steady order I see people get. They also do brunch food which I have yet to try but definitely gonna have to swing back in one morning to give it a try.

Went for Sunday afternoon brunch and sat outside. It was a chill vibe. Parking was rough at that time because there's a church next door. The Service was quick and pretty attentive although the server wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu. However the menu is pretty extensive so I can't blame him too much. We were looking for a pumpkin beer but unfortunately they didn't have one. They were also out of two cocktails we wanted. The cocktails we ended up with were well balanced and delicious. The food portions were huge and flavorful. I'll definitely be back.

We came for restaurant week and really enjoyed the menu. They have a huge draft collection here, but we're more for cocktails. The hibiscus margarita was really great and refreshing. They offer a number of mocktails here too. Their restaurant week menu was a really generous 3- course meal. The first course options were a salad with bleu cheese dressing and lots of bacon or roasted vegetables in a hummus-like sauce. Both were tasty but the salad was surprisingly filling and had lots of flavor. Next course offered barbecue shrimp or gochugang wings (korean sweet/spicy flavor). These wings were some of my favorite, with a great crisp on them too. Last was the main course. I paid a bit extra for the steak with chimichurri sauce and potatoes. It was cooked a little over medium rare but still tasty. I actually preferred the flavor from the pork chop with the green mole sauce. It felt way more unique and intrigued me compared to the typical steak. Overall enjoyed the bar food from here. It's kinda like eating inside a barn, so it's chilly. And since it's also mostly a bar, it's noisy inside. There were some pretty attentive servers though so I'd be willing to come back again. Their serving of fish and chips looks massive so we'll try that next time!

The quail pops were a nice little appetizer although they could have used a bit more seasoning. I think the drink and app prices were very reasonable. Service was laid back and friendly.
