Great night, sky and cityscapes, but you're not facing anything that is particularly beautiful to look at. That said, the outdoor area of this sky. High bar is very nicely appointed with great music and nice views. I did not have any cocktails just go round. I just had a beer and all that was great. We had great service and I decided to try the crispy chicken Cobb salad. Now for those of you that are old enough to remember the "real men of genius" Bud Light commercials I refer you to the inventor of the giant taco salad... Great staff! Terra is amazing as and on top of treating guests exceptionally well. However, ordered the brisket nachos, the brisket was cold along with a cheese. What is the point? Did not taste well... In fact, I would say the coldness of the supposed hot items destroyed every aspect of supposedly being good food. The music they played throughout the bar is decent 80% of the time. However, they play a lot of hip-hop music that has incredibly vulgar lyrics. This is a massive turn off. 1Watson is such a great gem! This rooftop establishment provides great views of the city. Even when it's cold they have a nice fire pit that keeps you warm. During my visit it was 49 degrees and I could not tell it was that cold when next to the fire pit. The drinks were good! I highly recommend the lavender lemonade (made with Tito's). This drink was tasty and very refreshing. I absolutely LOVE the music/playlist. Good 90's/early 200's playlist. I would definitely be a regular at 1Watson if I lived in San Antonio! read more

I attended a corporate event at 1Watson. Unfortunately, it was quite cold outside, not their fault, but definitely too chilly to fully enjoy the rooftop deck. Even so, we were greeted warmly and welcomed to a lovely spread that included charcuterie, a taco bar, guac and chips, and some delicious stuffed jalapenos. Service was excellent. The staff seemed genuinely happy to have us, and I always appreciate attentive service delivered with a smile. The view was gorgeous as the sun was setting, and it was far from the "ho hum" experience another Yelper described. There were heaters and a linear firepit that helped take the edge off, although it was still pretty cold. All in all, we were treated really well, the space was inviting, and the food was good. 5 stars! read more

Had a bunch of colleagues fly in for a work meeting so thought this would be fun as the outdoor rooftop patio has spectacular views of the city and the weather is just perfect before the summer heat kicks in. There is an elevator that takes you from the street directly to the rooftop land we were seated right away with a table that offers great views of the city!! Great drink list - I ordered the Soledad Spritz - it was good but seriously the largest cocktail ever! Could not finish it though it was very good and refreshing! We began with appetizers - I thought those were generally a bust as we had chips / salsa / queso which was kinda mediocre! Ordered the chili and herb crusted salmon as a main course and that was really good - loved the topping and the salmon was cooked perfectly! Its a bar, with a ho hum view of the san antonio skyline...on 2 sides of the room. They have an outside area that offers a better view, if you choose to sit at the actual bar you really cant see anything. Outside of the head bartender, everyone else is middling in the execution of cocktails, they do it with the most apathetic energy known to man as well. This at its heart looks to be a tequila/mezcal bar with a good selection of agave here. There are a few good bottles of bourbon and whiskey but id go neat with the latter. read more

It is an expensive restaurant and when I got my tacos I was worried it wouldn't be enough food but they were stuffed with the juiciest brisket and they have a sauce on them that was citrusy and delicious! SHANA SAYS: The AC Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk has a gorgeous rooftop bar/restaurant called 1Watson that we were excited to try during our recent stay. Reviews we checked ahead of time praised the food and cocktails but were mixed on the service. That matched our experience. I got the vegan fajita tacos, he got the brisket tacos. We each had a couple of cocktails. Everything about the food and beverages was superb! Really top notch. The vibe was also our style: low lighting, comfy seating, unbeatable views. Where the whole experience fell short was the truly indifferent service. Let me be clear, the hostess we interacted with when we arrived was very attentive and helpful. Our server was slow and indifferent. We weren't in a rush, which was helpful. We had been warned about the possibility of slow and inattentive service by previous reviewers. So it wasn't a shock. But is was a shame, because this place would otherwise have been perfect. I know I would have wanted to dine there more than once during our stay, but after that first time, there was just no going back. My Take: I share most of the same thoughts as my wife. You step outside the hotel to another door that leads to an elevator that goes right to the entrance and host stand. As stated the hostess was great both when we arrived and when we left. There was lots of room and the seats were comfy, like little couches. There was outside seating but we stayed inside to eat and drink. We were able to get our first drink order in and an appetizer then nothing for a long time. We didn't catch a glimpse of our server again until we were almost done with our drinks and then it was them rushing by and asking if everything was ok but not even pretending to slow down for an answer. Then nothing again. It wasn't busy, I don't know what the waitstaff is doing, I saw it happen with other tables, the one next to ours the waiter came over, took the order and then at some point runners brought the food, the waiter didn't show up again until they were mostly done and did the same quick rush by. We finally got ours to stop and take our order. We didn't yell or snap or fingers just managed to get her to stop on her next pass by. She seemed annoyed and put out, not friendly at all. Shana ordered another drink and we got our food ordered. The food didn't take that long but the drink was slow coming. The food was great and the drinks were fantastic. I managed to order another one no matter how hard they tried to avoid us ordering anything. I will say the bartenders looked like they were on top of things and the people at the bar didn't seem to have to wait. The whole experience was soured by our waitstaff. I really couldn't figure out what was going on or where everyone went between times. Its like they all took breaks after the first order. As Shana pointed out it caused us not to return even for drinks. Lucky for us there was great food all around with amazing service. read more

I made reservations and when I got there they told me we had a 2 hour time limit at our table that we reserved for outside and that we could get another table inside if we wanted when our limit was over. I should've been told that when I called and made the reservations, they did check to see if anyone else had it booked for after our limit and told us that it would be ok if we stayed past the 2 hr limit. Our server was great - super friendly and checked in on us. The food was good, I just wish we were told the chicken entree was a full chicken, we were thinking it was a chicken breast, it was still good but hard to eat in the dark on the rooftop. There is an inside that has more seating but you really couldn't get the views if you didn't sit outside. The music for a Friday night was hip-hop and there were some good hits playing. I love going to roof top bars in new cities to get a view of their skyline. It started to rain while we were there so we had to go inside. There is a covered area but there was only 2 to 3 tables in the covered area. Service was good. My drink was delicious. The menu was mid to me. I'm an absolute sucker for a rooftop restaurant, so 1Watson was the easy choice for our first dinner in San Antonio. We had reservations and were seated immediately in a cozy little corner. Started out with drinks and an appetizer. The homemade salsa is sweet and acidic. It pairs perfectly with their queso. Our waitress, Michelle, was amazing and kept bringing us more chips too. Then our entrees came. I'm not even being dramatic when I say those were the BEST enchiladas I have ever had! I added chicken (they come vegetarian if you don't) and I haven't stopped thinking about them. And of course we had to end with their S'mores Board for dessert, it was so cute. While attending a work conference in San Antonio, I stayed at the Element San Antonio Riverwalk. Several colleagues attended the conference from my organization, staying at the same hotel. After visiting Wine 101, we headed to 1Watson before calling it a day. 1Watson is Element/AC Hotel's rooftop bar, serving libations, Southwestern cuisine, and scenic fifteenth-floor views of downtown San Antonio. Many of the cocktails, beers, and wines are sourced from Texas wineries and distilleries. While reservations are encouraged, especially on evenings later in the week, the rooftop only reserves half of the restaurant, increasing the chance for walk-in availability. 1Watson is a whole vibe. The outdoor patio is nice-sized, with views of Main Plaza, Riverwalk, and San Fernando Cathedral. The R&B/2000s background music adds to the atmosphere, making for a great friends' night-out (or in my case, an evening with colleagues post-conference). When you visit, order the Southern Gentleman (brown butter-washed Knob Creek Bourbon, demerara, bourbon barrel bitters). You'll thank me later! read more

The view is amazing, but stay for the cocktails with friends. This rooftop bar has a perfect view of the courthouse and the plaza in front of the historical San Fernando Cathedral. To access, there is a separate entrance with a dedicated elevator that takes you straight up to the bar. Apparently, you can reserve a space through their website. We opted for hanging out in front of the glass bar and watched the cathedral light up for the evening. The bartenders were fast and friendly. Yes, the bathrooms are accessible and towards the back corner. We hope to reserve the space in the future, or at keast stop by with friends. We weren't sure if the happy hour jalapenos were the same as the brisket ones on the non-happy hour menu because the name was different, but she assured us they were the same. However, if you care about quality food and service, I'd recommend going elsewhere. I've been here before for the ambiance and drinks, but during my last visit, I decided to try the food for the first time. I ordered the Half Grilled Chicken Cilantro. The presentation was impressive, and the taste wasn't bad--until I cut into the chicken and saw blood. I immediately flagged down an employee and sent it back. It took 35 minutes for them to bring a new plate, and to my surprise, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue. No compensation, nothing--just a complete disregard for the situation. For a place that markets itself as upscale, serving undercooked chicken is unacceptable. If I were rating just the atmosphere, it's a solid 5 stars. Drinks? About 3.5. But service? 1 star. Food? 0. First experience at 1Watson. It was such a great spot for brunch with a nice view of San Antonio. Although limited, the brunch menu was interesting and had both, sweet and savory, options to enjoy. You are able to order all cocktail options in the menu but the lunch/dinner menu is not available during brunch hours. My fiancé and I decided to go for savory and ordered the club sandwich and the breakfast brisket sandwich, both were pretty good. The brisket sandwich was the hot option and the clubhouse was cold option. I would like to come back to give the night experience a try and to taste their regular menu options as well. I always enjoy coming to 1 Watson. The views are amazing and aside from the Tower of America, the skytop provides a complete view of the city. The bar is a complete bar and the mixologists are very good. Same celebration as last year, but since it was early, Liz and I dropped in after dinner without a reservation. We were able to order at the bar and sit down on the skytop and enjoy the sunset. This place is such a vibe! I've been twice now. It's industrial but cozy decor. Lots of windows and a rooftop with a city view. The cocktails are hand crafted and well balanced. The prices are reasonable for the location and ambience. Servers are always friendly. During brunch hours there's a dj but it's chill jams and not overly loud.
