The interior was clean and inviting, with a variety of table sizes to accommodate different group sizes, along with bar and counter seating for those stopping by for drinks. I ordered from the lunch menu, which is slightly more limited than the dinner menu. My server, Robert, was friendly and welcoming. I decided to take his recommendation and ordered the pork belly rice. The dish was well-seasoned, with a nice balance of savory and sweet flavors. The pork belly paired well with the vegetables and rice, making for a satisfying meal. For a drink, I went with the Senpai Sour, made with rye, spiced pear brandy, oolong tea, and lemon juice. You could definitely taste the alcohol, but the flavors were well-balanced, and the drink complemented the meal without being too overpowering. To finish, I ordered the yuzu pie. I enjoyed the yuzu curd base, which had a pleasant citrus flavor, but I felt the gochugaru-graham cracker crumble on top was a bit too heavy-handed. Was definitely interested in trying this place but it was disappointing. We tried a very large variety from their menu and there was nothing that stood out to me. The potstickers were extremely bland, the sauce that came surrounding it was pretty bland. That egg rolls girl with meat inside were probably the best thing but even those were not amazing, they were a bit too much. The udon did not quite as expected but it was fine. French fries are not good at all. Takbokki was very disappointing it was supposed to have cheese on it but it really had no flavor at all and it was basically the rice cake with nothing on it. They had a chicken cutlet which was with some sort of lemon sauce and that was decent but too salty. We tried a lot of other items as well I honestly can't remember everything at the moment but everything was too salty, too bland, not really as described, or just disappointing in some other way. We tried the Brisket Egg Rolls, Karaage, Tempura Shrimp, Pork Dumplings, Spiced Edamame, and Salmon Crudo. Everything tasted great! OMG I cannot say enough good things about this place! We were in San Antonio for a conference and wanted to get out of the hotel for a dinner. Firstly, we had trouble getting an uber at first and when I called the staff was very friendly and were able to hold the table a little longer which I appreciated. The menu is a mix of Asian Fusion small plates and I would have loved to have had more of a sampling of the menu but it wasn't that large of a party. The cocktails were not too sweet and perfectly balanced. The Fist of Fury was so refreshing and the Yuzu margarita was delightful! The plates come when they are ready and I have to say the food came really quick! All of it was fantastic! Surprisingly the shredded vegetable salad was amazing and one of my favorite dishes! The tamarind glaze on the Chicken Karaage was not overpowering and so tasty. The service was amazing and the vibes of the restaurant were a lot of fun. Located right on the riverwalk it is a popular restaurant spot so make sure to get a reservation during peak times. It's a fusion of new American and Japanese. In reality it primarily American dishes with certain Asian sauces and spices. They have a pretty limited menu (see pics). I got their Short Rib Bao Buns and Furikake fries. Short Rib Bao Buns (which literally reads short rib bun buns) had jalapenos and pickled onions with the short rib inside an Asian bun. It tasted fine just don't expect any authentic asian flavors. The Furikake fries were good. I liked that they used thinner fries and were nice and crispy. Bonito lakes and Furikake were toppled on. It was rather dim inside if you like that kind of vibe. The server was pretty good though wish he came by more often to refill our drinks. For the price there are definitely better options, but if you are just looking for a decent restaurant on the Riverwalk, this one is alright. read more

Hot oil chicken dumplings were pretty good, also. The dashi corn waffle was probably my least favorite, but what I was most excited about. Not bad at all, but the shrimp could use some texture and the waffle was heavy. There are so many great options - might push the waffle to the back of the list if you have to choose between two options. Finished off with the daily tres leches - today was coconut flavored. So light and perfectly soaked...highly recommend! Service was on point; we never had to look for him or do without. The 1st round of drinks probably took 15min but got back to normal pretty quickly. The restaurant smelled fishy. Our server was very nice and our food came out one at a time. The short rib Bao bun was very dry. We asked for spicy Mayo, they said sure but never brought it. The NY strip steak was really good and comes medium rare. The sauce that comes with it is sweet and salty. The double cheeseburger was also really good, very greasy, very salty as well. The kimchi salad doesn't actually have kimchi chunks in it, but the sauce is very delicious. For entrees, we tried the dashi corn waffle, karaage, pork belly, and shrimp noodles. The karaage and shrimp noodles were definitely a hit. You absolutely need to get a plate of the pickles, they are very unique and pair nicely with the food. We also got the side of green beans, which was one of our favorite dishes of the night. Don't forget dessert - the tres leches was absolutely delicious and not too sweet (a great thing)! The only downside were the flies, I was constantly fanning my hand to get rid of flies while I ate. I tried the Brisket egg roll, which was really tasty and I definitely recommend, though it costs almost as much as an entree. I didn't care for the sauce with the karaage chicken but as per the server's suggestion, I used the one from the egg roll. We came to this restaurant because they have such a great happy hour deal. It's also in such a great area of town right on the Riverwalk. I love sake and I saw they had a sake juice box. This was not the best sake I've ever had, but look how cute it was! The Toki highball was a classic and on special for happy hour, and it was light and refreshing, and it's exactly what I was looking for. I think every single person at the table got one. We also got a chicken dish (karaage) that was on the happy hour menu.
