I got the Camp Burger and Street Corn. The food presentation is good. Portions were generous relative to cost. The burger itself was a bit on the dry side, and the bread overpowered what could've been some solid flavor. The corn was cooked great, but a bit heavy on the acid, so the other flavors you expect from quality street corn were a bit lost. Simple tweaks, and this could be a standout comfort-food spot. I added avocado and cheese to my sandwich, and substituted sweet potato fries instead of regular fries for no extra cost. The food portions were massive and worth the price in my opinion. My sweet potato fries were so crispy, and they have this poblano ranch. That's really good, and it's not spicy at all. Nash was a very sweet and nice server, and was always moving and keeping busy. I found Camp on the map and after checking their Yelp page, decided this would be the perfect spot. We went during happy hour on purpose and got discounted margaritas and cuba libres (only 5-6$ each). Delicious! I went with the WOOD-GRILLED SHRIMP TACOS$16.95: fresh slaw, guacamole, pickled red onions, pickled jalapeño and they were served with tortilla chips and camp tomatillo sauce. They were good, but too soggy. Each taco was just soaking wet. My fiance got the CAMP BURGER $17.95: two angus beef patties, american cheese, tomato, pickle, red onion, lettuce, camp sauce, toasted brioche bun. He could only eat half because same issue - falling apart and too wet. The protein definitely needed to be drained before going on bread or tortillas. They also have great beer specials and frozen cocktails specials in their happy hour menu which makes it the perfect spot for an after work spot. Brought my husband here for Restaurant Week. $30 per person. We both opted for the Mission Salad. My husband ordered the Camp Burger and I ordered the Wood Fired Rotisserie Chicken, Banana Pudding. The Mission Salads (Romaine lettuce, roasted corn, black beans, avocado, tomatoes, crispy tortillas strips, and ) roasted poblano ranch dressing were absolutely delicious. The Camp Burger was a double angus beef patty burger with the tomato, lettuce, onion and American cheese on a toasted brioche bun. Delicious and juicy. Yummy! (yes, I stole a bite). It was served with fries. My rotisserie chicken was perfectly cooked. It was served on top of roasted Yukon potatoes, onions and poblano peppers and 2 small pieces of roasted corn. My husband enjoyed his Arnold Palmer. My frozen margarita was crazy sour. I asked for some simple syrup but there didn't have any. Instead they offered agave but it didn't help much. Instead, they remade my drink on the rocks which was significant less sour but now was a bit sweet. I was allowed to keep the original frozen drink. My margarita was perfect once I handed a couple spoonful of the tart frozen margarita to the margarita on the rocks. Service was great and food yummy. On our first visit to Camp Outpost we had our pups with us so we were looking for a dog friendly spot to grab lunch and we lucked out finding this cool spot. Right on the edge of Southtown, Camp Outpost is a great spot with wonderful food and an amazing outdoor dining area. They have seating inside as well but the outdoor area has ample space with large tables and plenty of covering for shade. There is astroturf and plenty of vegetation surrounding the fenced in outdoor seating, The food and drinks are perfectly made and, you order at the counter and the food is prepared in an open kitchen area then brought to your table by a server. Their sweet tea was exceptional as well. The only thing I didn't enjoy about this restaurant was the taste of their water; it tasted like it was unfiltered and straight out of a dirty tap. However, the staff was quick to address the issue soon after it was pointed out to them. They did remove the sandwich from the final bill and provided coupons for free food for the next visit. Definitely a plus with me. The parking is tight and limited during lunch but I was able to find free side street parking just a few feet from the full parking lot. While the menu is not extensive, the majority of people will be able to find something to their liking. Bottom line: love the atmosphere, nice outdoor area, but overall it was too much money for too little food. And the young man who delivered our food seemed to have the personality of the wooden fence enclosing the yard.
