I was in San Antonio for business and found this place about a mile from the hotel downtown.... After a short Lyft ride because we didn't know what we would be walking through.... We made it. We were seated outside, they had fans with misters and trees.... It was super awesome and a great atmosphere!! I got the steak medallions chimichurri..... with grilled asparagus and onion rings.... It was fantastic!!! Our waitress was super friendly and provided great recommendations..... I would definitely eat here again! This is located in the pearl district which was also fun to walk around for a little bit. Oh... and the carrot cake was delicious. It came out warm... which was new for me. Normally I am a chilled carrot cake kinda guy.... But none the less it was fantastic!

My friends and I enjoyed our lunch at Down on Grayson! All the staff members were very kind and patient with our large group. The restaurant inside was clean and had a fresh ambiance. The crispy chicken sandwich was a flavor bomb! Chicken was crispy (not greasy) as promised, however, I would've liked it to be meatier. Mac and cheese was ooey-gooey and comforting. We had the best time here! Definitely would come again to try the thai steak salad or another fun dish on the menu!

We took grad pics in the area and walked over to this restaurant. The vibe was pretty eclectic and that's probably because there were multiple grad parties dining both inside and out. We were seated quickly. Service was great as my friend's steak had to be sent back a couple of times due to temperature...... it was fixed without hassle! Manager brought it out and allowed her to cut it to ensure it was to her liking. We were composited with strawberry cake and myyyyy goodness that cake is a show stopper!! Moist! Full of flavor! Can serve 2-3 people I had fish tacos. When I revived my order my initial reaction was oh no corn tortillas! I don't think that was disclosed on menu BUT I was pleasantly surprised the tortillas weren't tough or chewy. Very flavorful too. Our party enjoyed our experience

Down on Grayson is always a favorite to go to! Whether it's for lunch, pregame-ing or even dinner they always have good drink specials and amazing food. My visit this past week was for lunch and the visit was exceptional. We were seated outside for immediate seating. They had plenty of fans with misters going and lots of shade to help facilitate the afternoon breeze. Service was extremely fast and we received our food maybe 15-20mins after we placed our orders. Unfortunately, no military discount offered but with one drink and one salad the cost was around $40 after tip. My Cobb salad was the perfect portion size (just enough to feel full but not feel like I've overeaten) with just enough dressing to where it wasn't sopping. Fresh lettuce and veggies to follow with two pieces of fresh bread. Absolutely delicious!!! I've been coming here for years so it's safe to say that I will definitely return!

My #1 pregnancy craving was the wedge salad from Down on Grayson. Is the lettuce simply a vehicle for the dressing and toppings? 100%, but my gosh, the whole thing is delicious. It's a huge salad and I eat the whole thing every time. I'm always the last one to finish their meal when I get this because I'm stuffing the whole plate into my mouth. The blue cheese dressing is incredible with lots of nice chunks of cheese. Beyond the wedge salad, we always have very good service here with attentive waitstaff and quick turnaround times for drinks and food.

Came here with a group of friends on a busy Saturday morning and did not have to wait very long for a table (less than 5 mins). My friend asked for a latte without sugar or sweetener and was given a sweetened latte, they said they always add sweetener? He didn't drink it. My chopped Caesar salad was really good!! Chicken was seasoned amazingly and my friends loved the portion sizes of their sandwiches and fries and the taste. Cute interior and lots of outdoor seating as well near the farmers market. Overall: decent place for brunch in SA

Was very excited to try this place for hr first time. The outside is very nice and well decorated and with shades and fans throughout the patio. Place looks nice and fancy on the outside side and inside. While searing outside waiting for our number to be buzzed, while waiting under a tree (shade), I got pooped on by a bird! Our number was called and walked in and we walked inside to a line of people waiting to be assigned to their seats. People were going around the line to the hostess without waiting in line like the others. Very unorganized way to greet and seat people. We ordered fried chicken and anticucho with a couple of mojitos. First the anticucho meat came cold, as it didn't event get reheated or for that fact, cooked fresh! Had to re-take the plate back due to the meat being cold. Not even two minutes passed and we had the plate back. Meat was microwave hot and everything else was still cold. But, we decided not to waste time and just ate what we had ordered. Alcohol drinks were good but they overfill the small glasses with lots of ice! Over all, closed to $100 for fried chicken, chunk of small cutting steak w/hard to chew nerves. Very disappointing experience! Check other places to enjoy your hard earned money and not here.

The food was amazing. Lizzie, our server was equally as amazing as the food! My fillet was cooked a little bit more than what I ordered; But Aaron and Lizzie worked hard to make it right. Very happy With the experience. We will definitely return.

Down on Grayson is a cool spot. The vibe seems to be trendy for the area. They offer a few TVs in the bar area of you're looking to post up for a bite to eat and a little something to eat. It's a small menu that features sandwiches and salads but does offer entrees such as steak and chicken dishes. For the items that are offered on the menu; they all seem basic but yet are pricey. They have some of the best onion rings and roasted Brussels sprouts that I've had in SATX Service was pretty good for what seemed to be a busy evening.

This establishment really has lots of potential. Not food wise the food is lovely, but staff wise. The staff here is not very welcoming as what someone would want it to be for visiting citizens. BUT if you are able to make sure that every time, ASK FOR MIA! She is a delight to be around, she has a very nice energy that makes you feel like you want to be happy aswell, she's charismatic, and she smiles as soon as she greets you! She is able to connect with you like not a lot of people can, having a conversation, trying to make you feel comfortable and joyful at the same time. Moving on to our next topic, the food. The food is what you would expect it to be, it's not as much as "I gotta get it" more so "this is a nice plate of food". Next topic- Setting They have indoor and outdoor seating options. The outside is dog friendly which might be a turn away for some people who are more cautious around dogs. The inside is a bit chilly but not unbearable. We did not try to sit outside because of this Texas heat in the summer. Outdoor seating would be nice in the evening tho or at night with a breeze. Now a word from my peers- (question asked "how would you describe your experience today?") answer 1- Good, very good, waiter was very nice, fast cooking, everything was freshly made, nachos were delicious. Answer 2- I would describe my experience as a 9.5/10. Answer 3- i would say my experience as delightful. Nice and relaxing, enjoyed my food. Now let's get to everyone's least favorite part of the review- the cons. The only con I have about this place is staff greeting. The people who greet you do not seem happy to be there. They don't greet you with a smile and even tried to sit us in the back deliberately when they passed up two tables that could sit four people which was the exact number of people we had. This is what brings this down to a three star and not a four or five. Service is truly the key component of a good establishment. If you are being treated badly then you won't be able to enjoy your food, but Mia treated us with a smile on her face the whole time. We were able to enjoy the food pleasantly. This with all the other components added brings this up to a 4star experience! MAKE SURE TO ALWAYS ASK FOR MIA!!!!!!

What a great experience Caitlin our server was great We had an outdoor table. It was so nice for a change to be at a casual formal restaurant where the music wasnt too loud to even chat. It was perfect. Cozy calm music ...and such a calm outdoor setting The food was really good too. The only complaint we had is that the bun on the fish sandwich was not good. Carrot cake and the prickly pear nojito was so good Another good thing is they validate your parking which is a great thing at the pearl district

Nice to sit outside in March, but i door tables available. Comfy lighting and tables. Good music. Attentive staff. Not too loud to talk, but loud enough to bring the kids. Parking lot in front. Good food. Nice large wedge salad. And grouper in San Antonio! All dishes well prepared, all happy with their meal. Recommend.

Does anyone know if their strawberry cake is made in-house, or if they sell the full cake?

    Do they take reservations?

No u fortunately so go early for lunch at 11am or you may have up to an hour wait

    Is there a wait?

Like with any place there is going to be a wait in the evenings or on the weekends. If going for lunch during a week day there is typically no wait.

    Any keto friendly eats here?

They have items that are or can be made to be kept friendly. There are a lot of protein items on the menu that you can get with substitute sides.

I also appreciate that they now have a bigger variety of wines and you can also buy beer and wine to-go. If you are looking to try their amazing pizza, their most popular pie (and my husband's favorite) is their Mike's Special which is a red sauce pizza with mozzarella, pepperoni, bacon and topped with honey drizzle.
