Love how chill it is and I like that it's a little hidden. The pickles and chicken rock, but I cannot lie, I come for the beer.

This place is a total cultural vibe all in and of itself. The food is top notch and they've expanded their menu u, but if you can get them to make you a buffalo-type chicken sandwich, you should ask. It's not always on the menu, but it's the best around.

Tucked away in an unpretentious white house, Attagirl exudes the kind of no-frills charm that instantly reminded me of New Orleans' legendary Willie Mae's Scotch House. While the resemblance in exterior is striking--both could be mistaken for someone's grandmother's home--the similarity runs deeper. Attagirl, like Willie Mae's, takes fried chicken seriously. The main distinction? Willie Mae's offers the full bird, while Attagirl focuses with purpose: wings, nuggets, sandwiches--and a few non-chicken detours. Stepping inside, the layout is spare: bar-style seating, a simple setup, and a walk-to-the-back ordering system that keeps things casual. The staff? Exceptionally helpful, especially for a first-timer like me. They broke down the menu (note: the online version is a bit of a maze) and guided me through their heat scale--San Antonio hot versus Nashville hot. I, perhaps wisely, deferred to Nashville. Before diving into the main event, I started with their deviled eggs. Three per order, presented with a flourish: a dusting of what looked like grated Parmesan and some unexpected bursts of color--maybe paprika, maybe something else entirely--but visually intriguing. I've sampled deviled eggs across the South, from Austin, Atlanta, to Charleston, and I say this without hesitation: these were among the best. The yolk mixture was rich and deeply seasoned, with just enough zing to make you pause and appreciate it. Then came the wings--only three to an order, which took me by surprise. (Yes, it's noted online. No, I didn't see it. See earlier menu note.) But what they lacked in quantity, they made up for in presence. Each wing was hefty, full-bodied, and laid over classic sliced white bread with a scattering of pickles. As the plate hit the counter, the aroma of spices wafted up--peppery, smoky, a little sinister. I let them rest a minute. Then, I picked up one, tore off the flapper, and in doing so, launched a confetti of seasoning across my shirt. One lick of my finger, and the fire hit--but behind the heat was bold, dynamic flavor. Not just spice for spice's sake. This was thoughtful heat. Nashville heat. And the bite? Juicy. Moist. Brimming with character. In that moment, I was transported back to the first time I had Hattie B's in Nashville--a kind of crispy enlightenment. Attagirl's wings are every bit as memorable. And maybe, just maybe, three wings was the right call. I couldn't have handled a fourth. Attagirl may look like a humble house on the outside, but inside lives some of the best fried chicken in the city--crackling with flavor, sweat-inducing heat, and Southern soul. A chicken shack in all the best ways.

Cool little spot in a nice neighborhood! We walked in and were greeted right away, we were shown the beer list and gave our order. It was a tad pricey, but things are in that area. We found a nice seat outside that faced the street, the sun was shining and the music bumping! A few minutes later, we received our deviled eggs. First, we noticed that they had sprinkles!! The eggs were great and unique to me taste like cream cheese but still great! A few moments later, the rest of our food arrives! The Nashville Hot Chicken was amazing, spicy, crunchy, juicy, just fabulous! The green Gawd is crunchy and juicy with a bright sauce! The salt and pepper fries seemed like they were battered but so so good crunchy and pillowy inside and seasoned perfectly! Later but not least was the chicken bologna sandwich. Nice presentation, but a little lacking to me, but my wife loved it! Great first visit, super nice staff, and just a great vibe! We'll definitely be back!

I've been here multiple times, and this may well be my last. Ungodly expensive for some wings. $32 for a six piece is highway robbery. All in $124 bucks with tip. Ranch is extra and should automatically come with an order. The ranch and blue cheese sides are literally an ounce. Save your hard earned money. There are better wings in this city for a fraction of the cost.

Fun joint! We came in on their birthday by surprise. They had a DJ and fun drink specials going on all day. Indoor and outdoor seating. We had the OG fried chicken sandwich and the San Antonio fried chicken sandwich, with a side of Girl Thyme fries. All of it super tasty. The San Antonio sandwich is DEFINITELY spicy. They say 10/10 heat for a reason. My husband likes spicy, and he was struggling to eat it, which means it's hot lol. The fries were delicious, def opt for the flavored fries over the salt and pepper ones.

Breakfast here was delicious!! It's a counter service spot and there's a lot of interesting items on the short menu. We got the brisket eggs Benedict and brisket egg and cheese sandwich. The breakfast potatoes that came with both were perfect- extra crispy . The staff were awesome and answered all our questions as we were deciding on what to order.

I finally had the opportunity to visit this local legacy. Cullum's attagirl is next door to Cullum's attaboy. I've been to Attaboy many times for brunch, but I never came by at the right time to try Attagirl....until today. I had to see if the food was just as amazing and I was not disappointed. The two are very different from each other, but my meal hit all the same. I ordered the J.A.C burger with salt and pepper fries. Don't make the same mistake as me. Find the napkins before you sit down. They are in a small location, so seating is limited inside, but they have plenty of outdoor seating available too. They had a nice draft list and advertised their drink specials well. I believe they are more known for the chicken, so I will need to come back to try that, but I can promise you won't be disappointed if you, like me, opt for the burger. It was a double smash burger, loaded with caramelized onions and greasy goodness. It comes wrapped in foil and I recommend keeping it partially wrapped as long as you can to help contain the mess. This sandwich was dripping in sauce and I had pickles and onions escaping from all edges from the first bite. The fries were perfectly crisp and truly loaded with salt and pepper. The whole meal was wonderful and I will certainly be back. My total without taxes or tip came out to $22.88, so a little pricey for a burger and fries without a drink, but I do believe this is comparable to most other burgers and fries in our economy these days. Overall, a wonderful experience. Don't sleep on Attagirl. Give them a try, the next time you are in need of a burger and fries!

Known for theirs wings so they are a must try! Of the two my favorite was the green gawd. The Gucci ranch is a must don't even question it.The Nashville hot is actually hot.We thought about it and went back to order the banana pudding.Boy do I not regret it! The bananas are have a roasted deep flavor because they crème brûlée the top. Every bite has some cookie in it.It was the second best thing we ordered. The big red vacay drink was like a dessert In itself.Parking is on the street nearby. Minimal seating inside.

Wooow their very perfectly cooked crispy chicken and super moist on the inside is what you'll crave for every day. Do beware when they say their San Antonio spice will melt your face, I would believe them.

Price is ridiculous. Paid $90 for 6 wings, two orders of fries and 3 drinks. It was good but not worth the price.

When is the brunch menu available?

    Saturday & Sunday!

Hey y'all when they say no refunds hot, how hot are they talking? Will my tongue be numb or is it a pleasant burn?

It is a good burn that will numb your tongue. I got 3 of them and I like things hot, but these are no joke!

So what is in the Disco sauce?

    It's not a sauce, it's edible glitter!!! 🙃🙃

    Do they have margaritas?

No, I don't think so. Just craft beers.

Do they have actual Fried Chicken, other than their Wings, yet?

Yes, they have their chicken tenders which beware they are thigh meat and not breast meat.

    Is the patio dog friendly?

You can definitely bring your dog, but a lot of cats hang out here.

Morrissey hadn't graced San Antonio in over 10 years, with past cancellations and postponements haunting fans along the way. So when he finally returned, San Antonio Moz fans showed up and showed out. Despite multiple after-party options across the city, fans from Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, and all across the U.S. chose Bang Bang Bar as the place to be on a cold Saturday night. Hosted by local emcee Ricardo Moz and Apollo DJ, the night turned into one for the history books. Bang Bang Bar is easily one of Texas' best dive-lounge bars...the perfect blend of gritty and cozy. Great cocktail program, solid beer selection, and a vibe that just works. The décor leans heavy into a 1950s-60s lounge aesthetic, with intimate spaces like the Blue Room and Yellow Room, perfect for groups of 7-10. Low lighting, warm atmosphere, and zero pretension exactly what you want for a night like this. Bang Bang Bar consistently supports local and touring acts, spanning punk, alternative, and DJ-driven nights, and this Moz Smiths Disco was no exception. It was wall-to-wall classics all night long. Major credit to Phanie and the Bang Bang Bar management they rolled up their sleeves, brought in extra bar staff, and handled an overwhelming crowd like pros. Fans waited up to 45 minutes in the cold, with a line wrapping around the building, and the energy inside never dipped. As the host of Panic On The Streets, I'm incredibly thankful to Bang Bang Bar for helping us pull off one of the best after-parties we've done in years. Fittingly, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of both Bang Bang Bar and Panic On The Streets of San Antonio and what a way to celebrate. Bang Bang Bar has long been one of my favorite bars in town, and after this night, that reputation is more than earned. Parking along the street is free (along the fence line of Sam Houston) and was not an issue even for a holiday. There is a paid parking lot that is secure and available too so note that if ever you have an issue finding a good spot. Walking into Slow Ride is like walking into your tio's (uncle) or a grandpa's cool, 70's/80;s vibey, and home-y bar. This is the kind of spot where every picture you take of yourself, or your friends, will look like you took it in the 80's! This is not a bad thing either. Seriously. It IS A VIBE here! Cushy seats at the bar was my favorite spot to hang out while we had some cold beers and a shot to go alongside it too. They have beer and shot combos here around $8. You get plenty of choices on beer and liquor of choice. I opted for a tallboy Lonestar and a small shot of the Mexican Candy. My sister got a Live Oak Hefe in a can (she likes Blue Moon so this was the closest thing to it and she liked it!) and later a Shiner in a bottle. I also decided to close out with a daiquiri that was super delicious and offered in nice glassware. Patio out in the back is spacious and a great spot to hang out with a group of friends. The back space is taken care of and has a modern look to it out there. I can see it being a nice vibe outside on a pretty day too. Jukebox is legit! All great music selections from all genres on CDs and pretty cheap too to play 5-8 songs. The artwork around here is worth a look around too. I love all the unique Garfield toys surrounding the bar area too. All of the back bar is so great with the wooden shelving and lighting too. You can see many honorable nods to those who currently or have served. It's a great thing to see especially so close to Sam Houston. One thing I have a pet peeve on is any service bar who has to keep my card on file. I am the worst person who won't remember so I have to be extra careful when bars keep my card. I usually walk and don't mind paying the 20+% tab walk fee but I do want my card back so I have to get everyone who is with me to remind me to go get it. That's why I am giving it 4 stars. I am looking forward to coming back in the future and bringing some more family and friends, though. This spot is so nostalgic and their social is super active and will promote DJs and sets happening that week and into the weekend. Go check them out and play some pool.
