I have so many great memories here. I met Union Underground here, heard many great bands, and I've headbanged the night away on Metal Mondays. The Mix has a great local neighborhood chill vibe, and the drinks are very reasonable. Bathrooms are a bit scary and look like something out of Saw but hey it's an old dive bar...so I guess part of the charm? The staff has always been friendly and attentive even when stupid busy. They have a cool lounge by the pool tables with a leather sofa that I like to sink into. I was sad to see the little private room in the back with the loungers and TV'S gone. I adored that room for chatting with the interesting people I would meet here in a space that reminded me of my highschool bestie's livingroom.

Great atmosphere, free to minimal cover charge. I went on Tues night for amateur poetry night. The DJ was really good. The drinks were cheap. Encouraging crowd. I like how there's plentiful space and different areas to sit. The decor is different too, very eye catchy. Everyone is chill and friendly.

If you're looking for a no-frills kick-ass brew selection mix (pun sort of intended) and match good time, this is an absolutely fabulous place to start. Mix (if you will) one part easygoing and sharp barstaff, a twist of enigmatic if comfortably friendly regulars, shake with a bar band or two, throw a heavy pour in there and you know what I'm talking about. All they're missing are the sleeping bags. I could have forwarded my mail here and been perfectly okay for awhile. Bathed in blue light with a side room full of pool tables, The MIx is just what it purports to be: a mix of friends and soon to be extended family, wrapped in the warm embrace of tonight, surrounded by the possibility of expanding smiles in the offing. I can't in all honesty say that I've spent countless nights here, 'cause that wouldn't be true. But these guys get the best part of what being a neighborhood staple is. And whether you're a bar or a friend, there will always be something special about that idea.

I really dig this bar. This was my first time visiting San Antonio and it's a breath of fresh fucking air to find a good bar with cold beer, strong drinks and no bullshit. Place is divey but that just adds to the charm. They have a DJ that spins good tunes and a pool table as well, so always a plus. It's in a good location as well, so make sure to hit up the food trucks.

10/10 place to get wasted. That's literally all you need to know. Cheap and loud. Cool people and strong drinks.

It has the decor and vibes of a midwestern dive bar in the 70s: retro bar furniture, old signs, neon, and wood paneling. They have a simple but perfect bar menu: beers, classic cocktails, and a couple of wines. I had a martini; my brother had a daquiri; and my husband had a couple of Lone Stars. The service good. The drinks were good. The vibes were perfect (they even had Selena playing on the TV over the bar - which made me feel right at home). I don't want to sound 100, but the DJ was way too loud for me on a Friday night (we couldn't hear each other talk),but otherwise the bar was the perfect place for Friday night drinks. Slow Ride offers a dive-ish alternative to the more polished, fancy places just down the road at the Pearl. If you're looking for something with lots of character, Slow Ride might be perfect.

Starting off I want to give props to DJ Sriracha with the k-pop tunes. I can tell they're a seasoned K-pop listener as all the jams they played were a hit and really kept the event lively! I absolutely loved the ambiance each room had and it was definitely tailored to the younger crowd (which I am a part of) and succeeds in doing so! From retro games, to table top games, fun decor and even a stage and screen for people to perform their k-pop dances. Everything was just great. If you're on the younger side and looking for places for people around your age with similar interests (~18-27) consider this your new favorite spot!
