If you're looking for a dive bar without the risk of getting shanked, you should probably stop in here. Now that San Antonio passed the "no you can't smoke inside any of our bars" law this place is more tolerable. They just added a little outdoor seating for those of you who can't go out without lighting up, so don't worry. Formerly (and affectionately) known as The Stinkery, they've got pool, darts, and a bar (with alcohol). And some seating and music for us high-maintenance types. If you're lucky you'll find Wendy or Nicole behind the bar. This is a good place to stop in after work if you're in the medical center, but don't expect anything fancy. read more

The drinks specials are really awesome and music is usually good. Female bartenders here are rude to women. Every-time I go there even though I'm the one paying for the drinks. Bartender Jackie charged me 26 dollars for two shots (star fuckers) so I could get upset and leave. I asked her to explain why it was so expensive she said it was for using more than one liquor on the shots which was ridiculous. I asked for the manager she said it was her. read more

I've been in this bar many times and love it. I asked Andrew for a lemon drop shot. He said "I'm not doing that shit" " I don't have sugar or lemon" as I could clearly see it in the background,?And then I continued to ask for a regular (well)shot of tequila. I came here with a couple of teammates on a Sunday night after a game and it was pretty busy, though it didn't seem like there was a whole lot of people there. This is probably because the bar is pretty small. Other than that, everything else was great. The staff is extremely nice and very quick to get your drinks to you at cheap prices. They also have cute female bartenders too. The interior is decorated nicely, not too different than any normal bar. They have plenty of TVs and a projector screen around the bar and lounge areas so you won't miss the game or fight. There's two coin operated billiard tables in the back as well. For music, they have a jukebox on most nights, which could be a good or bad thing; great when someone chooses good upbeat jams, bad when they choose Backstreet Boys. On some nights, they have great bands come out and play live music. My only complaint is that the bar is a bit small and I could see how it could easily get very cramped on busy nights. Other than that, it's easily one of my favorite casual hang-out bars in San Antonio. read more

The people are still completely random (barflies, bachelorettes, pub crawlers, pool sharks, jocks, doctors, bums, etc... random). The drink specials are the tits. I would like to start off by saying that I do enjoy this bar. However, tonight was hands down the worst experience that I have ever had there. There was a very obviously new staff working behind the bar (which is fine) but the quality of service was an absolute disgrace. I work in the restaurant industry and have been a bartender for 5 years now so I am familiar with all TABC regulations and the rights that each bartender possesses as a seller/server. As a bartender, I support and encourage other bartenders to exercise their rights to cut off a consumer whenever they please for the safety of the guest, themselves, and others. Tonight my friends and myself arrived after closing our own restaurant. The first drinks we ordered arrived quickly. Every drink after took 15+ minutes of waiting to be acknowledged while the bartenders were busy. In the hour and a half we were there, we might have had 3 drinks each. I understand a high volume of business will create longer wait times and I absolutely understand that bartenders have 90 things going through their minds at one time. But when I am asked four (4) times by the same bartender what my drink order was, and that bartender proceeds to forget about my friends and myself and make other people's drinks is where I begin to have a problem. I never got the female bartenders name, but she was inattentive. My biggest problem was at the end of the night when the bartender Matt, took another 20 minutes to take my friends drink order. When he finally circled back around to the order he says "I can't make that." Okay. My friends come sit back down at the table without their shots. I was confused and asked them what had happened and they explained that the bartender said that he could not make it. I proceeded to go up to the bar and ask the bartender what he didn't have to make the shot because I was going to suggest using a different ingredient. The bartender Matt goes "it's 1:50. The lights are on. Im not making your friends that shot." I explained that they had been standing up at the bar since 1:30 trying to get the shot and Matt follows with "yeah well it's too late to order now. I have the right to refuse service to anyone I please." I told Matt that I understood all of the TABC laws and regulations and he stated that he was not going to "make a shot like that" at this time of night. I asked for his name, he told me it was Matt, he then walks away and serves every other bar guest another round of drinks and/or shots. I wasn't aware that a bartender could refuse to serve specific shots to guests? Because we ended up receiving shots, just not the one that we wanted. That MUST be a new TABC stipulation that I have not heard of. Point being, this bar itself is good but needs to emphasize some more training on their new bartenders. Customer service and speed definitely seem to be a problem for Matt at least. read more

This was the Home bar for a long time. The bartenders were always the best at mixing whatever I could imagine to my simple fav- 7&7. Being one of the Clark Bar's I was never disappointed with the drink specials and the laid back atmosphere. Usually have a local band play on Thursdays for a few hours, which is surprising when you see the size of the place. All in all a great place to kick back with friends and chillax. read more

This is my favorite "dive bar". There is a very diverse crowd along with the regulars, all of which are pretty friendly. Prices are low and there are specials everyday. I used to call this the last call bar because everyone seems to pack in at last call. It's pretty small, so I usually end up meeting new people and having interesting nights here! read more

Cool little "dive-ish" bar. Smaller and less eventful than the one in the Washington Corridor in Houston, but still a decent little joint. Great daily drink specials, but only two pool tables and crappy restrooms. Usually very busy on the weekends, which I avoid because I have major crowd issues. I prefer "Turn Up" (I despise that phrase) Tuesday when the man DJ Double R is spinning old school (80s, 90s) Hip-Hop/R&B; none of that nonsense/noise on the Top 40 nowadays. Male bartender was cool, spent $8 in this place for being in this bar about two beers in this place for a duration of about and hour and a half. When I got the bill I was charged the correct amount, $8, (I tipped cash because I too am in the industry and know cash tips are favorable) but somehow had a separate charge for $20? When I called to ask about this fraudulent charge, the bartender was unconcerned and said to call the manager at another store, which I did and got a more concerned bartender who said she would pass on my concern of this possible misunderstanding but I was never called back. I don't mind if It was an honest mistake and my credit card accidentally payed for someone else's beers that night when I tried to cash out myself but I am bothered by the way this establishment deals with client concerns, especially when it concerns money. Hopefully this company could do business with others in a more helpful and honest manner. read more

I enjoy this bar most everytime I go, they usually have pretty good drink specials and .75 pool. It's a pretty small, casual bar with a very diverse crowd. There is live music A few days a week but the jukebox is usually playing which works very well, when requesting songs you can easily expect them to come on pretty soon thereafter. read more
