If I could give it a zero I would. Came here to eat some food and drink a beer and there's roaches crawling around the bar.

Karmen K.

So happy to have found this spot. It's a little dive bar with an awesome patio. The bartender was doing an awesome job of taking care of everyone. We came during happy hour when they have $1 off draft beers. They were smoking their own pork so I had to try that in taco form, it was quite good. We also tried the pretzel stick, jerk taco, and pork adovado taco. Everything was really good.

This is great dive bar in San Antonio with delicious bar food. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Their patio is very nice and nicely paved. The cost of both the drinks and the foods are decent. They have about a dozen beers on draft and even have Angry Orchard cider as well as many other hard alcohol drinks. They have one pool table and a smart juke box you can link into on your phone through an app. If you follow them on social media you can see what their specials are and why events they have going on. You can reserve a table there for a large party. They allow smoking in the patio. If the parking in the back and on the sides are full, you can park at the additional paved parking in the lot behind the gravel lot. This is a nice place to go have a fun night with friends.

Bang a rang Shrimp tacos with hot Cheetos breading

Love the $6 Bang a rang shrimp tacos they are breaded and fried with hot Cheetos and you can pick corn or flour tortillas. It is pricey, but it is loaded with shrimp. Ask about the daily empanada special last time they had Kobe beef and it was delicious for only three dollars

$4 happy hour Yuengling on Draft. Clean lines!

One of the best dives I've ever been. Great patios front and back and really cool inside (well, to me) reminds me of being in the PNW but a lesser beer selection. Although the draft beers were clean they were mostly corporate brews. Great happy hour and ever better food. Phenomenal food actually. Everything was seasoned on point and the portions were excellent. We hope to become regulars here as the crowd was polite and welcoming. Try all the tacos as we did! You'll be glad you did.

This is a solid dive bar in an area you wouldn't think to find one. Oak Hills is literally hidden in plain sight behind beautiful oak trees. The food is excellent bar food at a steal of a price. The burgers, fries, and tacos all make you think there's an actual restaurant dishing them out. Your best bet at getting that food is to walk up to the bar and order it from the bartender. Those bartenders are fun and offer great service on top of pouring generous drinks. Indoor and outdoor seating is available with the indoor being a standard dive and the outdoor being a very relaxing patio lounge.

Mexican candy shot (but in drink form)

Yep! Food was amaze balls yet again. Jerk chicken tacos had my mouth on FIRE! I usually refrain from spicy foods, but these tacos had a hold on me. Topped with some kind of mango salsa made them over the top. You gotta try them!

One of the best low key bars in San Antonio. All the bartenders are fast, drinks are great and food is awesome.

That's exactly the energy at Los Weyes de la Asada. From the second you walk up, it feels alive. Not in a forced way, more like you've been there before, even if it's your first time. The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. As a fellow citizen of H-town, we have a vibrant taco scene and I would put this place up there with some of my favorite spots I frequented in HOU. Each time I've been here, I've ordered between 8-9 tacos as they are each $2.50. I've gotten a combination of pastor, barbacoa, lengua, bistec, and cabeza. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide. Either eat there or get it to go (which is what I did). Fortunately the tacos travel well as they were still hot when I posted up at my hotel to grub. Don't be discouraged of the long line if you see one as it moves quick. You walk up and place your order, then pay afterwards. It's somewhat of an honor system but there is security present when I went there so that eased my concerns. For drinks, it's either soft drinks, water, or mineral water. No alcohol is served here so if you want margaritas/micheladas/beer, you'll have to go elsewhere for that. No doubt I'm returning next time I'm in SA. Viva Taquitos West SIDE!

We were right on the river walk, but walked through the entire restaurant on our way to be seated and every bit of it is as lovely as where we ended up sitting. This is a very busy place. However, the waiter was simply incredible. Very attentive, very informative quite humorous. He was frankly part of the river walk entertainment. Extremely accommodating and instructive as well. You can't hope for much more from a server in Restaurant than this activity. The food is really quite good. How are the drinks. Extremely dependable and the portions are generous and equally wonderful. There are many places to dine in San Antonio. However, this is an experience not to be missed and I mean that quite sincerely. The soup never arrived, but we didn't say anything because the prime rib with fries and veg looked like plenty of food for us. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the lime chess pie. In general, I adore chess pies but the lime flavor just didn't pair well with the custard filling.

No establishment is perfect. I will bring to you smaller hiccups we may have come across. I will rarely comment on the taste of food - being bad, as that is a very personal thing. My wife and I disagree on taste of food and wine, no one is wrong or right. Now if the food is on fire, burned, under/overcooked to our requests, that would be mentioned. My favorite thing about our visit to SANCHOS was their hospitality. Sometimes things do not turn out as you think (the customers end). We had a scheduled event planned at SANCHOS, and some of the RSVPs didn't show up. Nothing changed at all from our server, he was simply amazing. Rearranged the tables to make it more suitable for us. And we received more one-on-one attention and interaction with him - he was amazing. Then the food and drinks. To say a solid happy hour menu for both drinks and food is an understatement. It is worth the Uber if you live downtown SATX! Had some amazing apps and drinks! The price point you can't beat! Live music every Thursday, SANCHOS has a real neighborhood feel to it, but has a downtown view. We will set up another Thirsty Thursdays event in the spring. Both the red and green salsa are very nice and spicy. Everything tastes really fresh and I'm happy to come here when the weather isn't too bad and sit on the upstairs deck. I wish the view was better than the parking lot, but that's not Sancho's fault. My god, the bathrooms though. Please do something about the bathrooms. They could use some serious freshening up.
